  1. The torso and head. Notice the crack in the forehead below the silver, aluminium piece. Damn movers.
  2. The shield which has moveable "scarab" style claws.
  3. A close up of the flame unit. The rest is a foot of barrel for it.
  4. Heres a distant shot of the pieces with my1/72 Hikkie 1S standing in the back still needing its decals.
  5. Most vinyl kits need a little work. Nothing i wasnt able to fix with a heat gun and ZAP brand superglue. Just trim and check as you go along. The only worry of the Vinyl bits is the weight. Its a denser material than the plastic the standard led mirage kit is made of so it needs caer in handeling. It also comes with a square steel base and support rod which has a plastic adapter that veru snugly fits into the crotch of the robot. It is well more than enough to support it. There are also alot of fiddly small bits on it too. In the end it is all worth it though. An almost perfect rendition of one of my fave FSS mecha. If you want i can hop upstairs and take out the parts to give you a good idea of what there is.
  6. I dont have any currently the kit is in a box in my closet. I had to take it apart before i moved to minimize breakage, it still got broken because of military movers. It is repairable. Maybe ill make it my weekend project. The kit is awesome and some of the parts are resin and vinyl. The flame unit itself is over a foot long.
  7. Theres no way im going to buy a whole other SV51 just for 2 little boosters. If someone were to create a set of just the boosters and sell them im game(and i dont mean recast) .Id rather 15 to 30 dollars for a booster set then have a full model of a 51 that i wont build lying around when i already have one.
  8. I really gotta fix up my 1/100 Lead Mirage now. It has the flight pack and flame unit. It is the wave kit.
  9. I just finished disassembling my other 1/48 UD. Im going to make it the rarely seen max 1S. Does anyone know if Devin makes a sheet of true Dyrl decals? The ones that came with the Gsystem one dont have all the stencils and smaller markings like the skulls for the tails and the Skull squadron emblem that go behind the cockpit. You can see that in the movie during his fight with millia. Im combining the leftovers from the Gsystem kit with the ClubM one i already have. so far the fit is great.
  10. I thought white with a colored tip like the super/strike armor.
  11. Nah A VF0S Battroid with all the above mentioned accessories included (all interchangable) would be Ultimate. A good photoetch set to go with it too. should only run around 60 bucks from hase.
  12. No a VF0S Battroid w/booster and weapons would be nicer.
  13. Nor Tenchi and Ryoko(cmon you know they are good for each other )
  14. Maybe its his way of keying people into a new part of the series coming up soon. He probably is referring to himself though.
  15. Rob started it but the responsibility was taken from him when he took too long and his designs werent exactly what they were looking for. He did however do the prosthetic work for Murphys death scene.
  16. You should be able to get the tape from most office supply stores. It comes in many different widths and isnt too tacky. just pick the width that will fit the size of the model and stripe you want and wrap it around the arm tubes to mask the areas you want to stay yellow. Its easier than cutting masking tape and trying to keep the width the same all the way. Your idea sounds good for the gold on the bubble just make sure the gold is reflective enough to show through the clear yellow.
  17. Id use thin chart tape and wrap it around the arms to mask it and then airbrush the black on them. Remove the tape and there you go , perfectly spaced warning lines. This model screams for a good wash and drybrush session along with some pastels. Please more results. I was thinking about the cockpit on these the other day too. Why not make it gold like a space suit helmet. Since its not molded clear it would give it a SciFi feel.
  18. On the SE DVD the Production designer said he drew alot of influence from japanese robots and gave them a Detroit steel feel(big open mouth radiator up front?) Also he stated that the front of the head itself was influenced by a killer whale.
  19. He could have at least changed the look of the steering column .
  20. IM going to do a final post on it this afternoon . She is going to the real proving ground where i use the tiger. This was a fun build The tricolor scheme is one of the hardest ones to weather without looking chalky or just mudding up the scheme. The worst thing on the kit is that you have to take apart the turret interior components to work in the lower hull. Seeing how the slack adjustment for the tracks is internal it makes it a P.I.T.A. for maintenance. An external screw to adjust tension like on the tiger would have worked so much better. Thank you to everyone for your comments and questions. Sean
  21. I thought you had finished it and it was the one on the front page of the site.
  22. if this has the kind of followers on here that starwars has it could get ugly
  23. Notice though they didnt use anything from the macross portion of what they own . Thats a good thng. Although this is all just a big way to advertise their crap to the masses and get it funded by someone else. HEY! HG make us a commercial and we will pay for the budget on it. You can sell your crap with it too.
  24. This is from yesterdays first mud run. I didnt give it the full run like i give the tiger since im still breaking in the gear boxes and getting all the motor parts seated. When i get the 1/72 scale monster im going to give it weathering alot like this. The details and shapes of the parts are so large that they dont need much to make them stand out and if done too heavily can make the monster look too toylike.
  25. This shot shows off the details of the commanders hatch really well. You can also see in the green areas where the wash has setteled in the lines and corners of the parts.
