  1. HUH? We don't have a single review yet. Isn't it a little early to say they've "dropped the ball"?

Actually, I was basing my comment off the photos posted today of the released figures, which appear to have goofy faces/sloppy face work with crossed eyes and a purple visor instead of a blue visor. I'm still getting one b/c I love how the armor look all put together, but if they screwed up the visor color, that's pretty bad. Can't be too hard to mix blue, there are so many examples out there to base your knowledge off of.

  2. Wow, it does appear Megahouse has dropped the ball too, at least on this first wave. If they come out with a "fixed" second wave, anyone here plan on complaining to the company to try to get some freebies? And if they are affordable, I'd be down with buying the recast parts. Maybe I should try to make a cannon for mine like the Shadow Chronicles???

  3. You know, even if Toynami does "plan" to release these stateside, I'll gladly pay the $10 more to get mine now instead of never. I honestly doubt Toynami will ever release these stateside b/c hell, they can't even release their own products that have been completed for over a year (fast packs), so why/how would they justify doing this before they release those?

  4. In case anyone else isn't clear, before NY Toy Fare things looked like this:

    1) CMs 1/18 Ride Armor Release in February

    2) MH 1/15 Ride Armor Release in late Feb, Early March

    3) Beagle 1/10 Ride Armor release in Q4

    4) Toynami 1/12 Ride Armor release in Q4 (I might be screwing up the scale on these last two)

After NY Toy Fare the situation is this:

    1) CMs 1/18 Ride Armor released in February

    2) MH 1/15 Ride Armor release expected in MAR in both Japan (through Mega House) and internationally (through Toynami)

    3) Beagle OR Toynami Ride Armor release in Q4 in both Japan (through Beagle) and internationally (through Toynami)

Any word on PRICING of the Toynami MH release or when they will be released Stateside? I still plan to stick with my pre-order from HLJ, but I'm curious to know what Toynami is doing.

  5. Wow! The Blow Superior looks so right with those new tires. I hope the delay in the release is due to MH changing the tires on Stig's and Rey's rides also. Then again it'd be dumb to have two bikes with small tires and one with bigger ones.

I'm with Ruskii on the diorama thing. The minutes I first saw MH's painted protos, I thought "damn, this figures are screaming for a nice camp diorama". I know squat about dioramas, so I'll have to start studying how to do trees, grass and such.

Actually, local hobby stores probably have that kind of stuff to buy for a diorama. (My local one does/did at least)

I hadn't even noticed that the tires were different.

  6. Gurren Lagann is set for a May 15th release, the Razengan will follow a month later.

I'm hoping it'll include the flight pack that was shown in the Wonderfest pictures.

I want the flight pack too! That would complete him!

I still want some good pictures of the Arbalest ARX-8 too! (and a release date)! :D

  7. Wow, glad I chose MegaHouse. I love how dynamic they look while still retaining a good bit of anime accuracy. Even though they aren't perfect transformation, they are beautiful, so they get my money.

So, did anyone find out the official release date for the first two MH cyclones (and maybe a tentative one for the blow superior)

Edit: Fixed the spelling. I had forgotten how it was spelled, so I just copied the spelling from person three posts above mine. :D

  8. I hope CMs makes a second run with improvements. If they fixed the non spinning wheels (and all the other little flaws) and revised the asking price , I'd probably get a set.

Honestly, I think the price should be right around $25 from the reviews I've read. That's about as much as I'd be willing to pay for one of those things.

  9. You know, I'd almost bet that MH paid Toynami to display their products to give it a little extra hype after the CM one came out and didn't get good reviews (in general). It wouldn't surprise me at all if Toynami has ZERO intention of selling these domestically and even if they do, the $10 or so I'd save isn't enough to make me cancel my Early Bird HLJ Stick/Scott pre-order.

  10. I tried to send Toynami an e-mail about these, but the e-mail bounced back b/c their mailbox was full. So they are either being hammered with inquiries or they stopped replying to e-mails.

I personally have been wanting to get the Max and Miria/Milia but have just been putting it off. Since it looks like they may actually be getting close to releasing these armor sets, I'll have to get them now. I think the Super/Strike and the GBP sets look awesome! I know Toynami can be poor quality, but these just look so good and for such an affordable price too.

  11. Word here in Singapore is that the MH has been 'delayed'. Reasons are not clear but there are rumors of unfavorable feedback from sellers regarding the undersized bikes compared to the CM's proportions. Result: Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. Stocks of the CM's have been selling out everywhere in Singapore. If you can find one, chances are the prices will be marked up due to 'rarity'.

You know, I just don't see that being true (about MH delaying their release to change the size of the bike). Reason being is that it would basically mean they have to start from scratch again and would kill any hype for their figure. I may see them pushing it back a month to tweak something if they found a problem, but to rebuild the bike out of "fear" is kinda ridiculous.

Oh, and I still think the CM bike looks crappy. The plastic looks like poor quality plastic and the reviews don't exactly make the thing seem like a high quality toy. Honestly, it reminds me of Toynami's Alpha, except people are willing to just ignore the flaws of the CM b/c they are "fixable". But when you pay $60+ for a toy, you shouldn't have to fix anything.

  12. What if the megahouse is brittle too though? Wouldn't it be best to not preorder it but instead wait for reviews? Toynami might be the best out of all of them. :D

You know, from the video on their site, it doesn't really look brittle and a prototype (which some people have been saying it's just a prototype) is usually way more brittle than the final product. I think MH may have a few tiny issues, but nothing like what I've been reading about the CM ones. The fact that theirs is bigger and that they didn't try to do "perfect transformation" means a lot of parts that would have had brittle hinges to move now just pop off and back on, which should be more sturdy than brittle/loose hinges.

  13. Read the rest here: http://gyaku.jp/en/index.php?cmd=contentview&pid=000320

This is 2 months old, but I didn't see it posted here. They is a lot more to the article than this and is going to be quite a problem when other nations follow their lead. HEH! Information regulation! Virtually ANYTHING and EVERYTHING can be blocked at the server level if it doesn't pass the national guidelines for what is "safe" and what is not.

I expect some of the more blatant large scale dl sites to get closed, but I also expect an increase in pass wording and encrypting on some files types to prevent site banning/closure.

I honestly don't expect this to really change anything. And don't worry about this happening to the US. There would be such an outcry from the general public that it would fall apart ASAP. I think the same thing will probably happen in Japan, or it will end up like the whole Napster thing...a few people get in trouble but the large majority go untouched.

  14. To me, the MH one at least looks sturdy. Even in the video, the guy didn't have trouble getting it to stand on its own and the parts/joints didn't look loose at all. I don't care that it's not a perfect transformation (would have been nice, but I like the look of the final product in armor mode most anyway). I'll be keeping him in armor mode mostly anyway and I really don't think the proportions in bike mode are all that bad.

  15. Can't say I'm sorry I turned them down. They look really cheap in those newest pics on that foreign site (like they were made for a low cost with little detail).

Edit: Just saw the newer pics posted on the board and I can't believe the tires. They look like they won't stay upward in armor mode.
