  1. That pic shows Annie/Mint on Rand's back ... are they going to make her too???

As of now, there is only speculation that Mint/Annie will be included with one of the bikes (no official parts list has been given for any future bikes). There is also speculation that the jeep will be made and she may possibly come with it. All I really know is that people posting way back on various forums commented that the company was going to make them all, then at this show, the company had the line-art up for all 4 bikes.

  2. Currently, for MegaHouse, only these 2 are announced right? Will they be making the rest as well?

I'm pretty sure they are. See the picture's background...

Edit: I just happened to notice that CM's has holes in the sides of the boots on the outsides, which makes me think that the hip plates connect there just like the show/concept to support the weight. There's are turning out pretty nice as long as the cost is kept down.

  3. I'll probably own all of them... some maybe only briefly. I think MegaHouse is asking a bit much though but a lot of that is because I have to have it shipped from Japan. I don't know why HG wouldn't work out a distribution deal with them though... maybe they will. I could definitely see me scooping up a $49.99 MH ride armor but when it gets to be $75 shipped it gets a bit tougher. The Toynami MPC will probably be easily had for that same price and with diecast and I'm pretty sure it's bigger. I really will need to see some good bike comparison shots though. The CMs version seems like it will be the real cheapy in the group so I might pick that up as packing material with a Valk i'll order.

EDIT - Did Rey/Rand's armor even have a scope? I thought the scopes were used by Stig for his gauntlets and Yellow for his chest missiles.

Considering the size of the MH ones, I'd say shipping will run about $10 for the cheap shipping method.

Also, comparison shots are a good idea.

  4. I think I'd believe that more if I hadn't seen what they'd done to the Invid mecha, giving it that weird non-accurate texture and trying to tell us it was "better".

I actually think that was Megahouse that did that.

And to clarify, when said I thought that CM threw that together, I think they had the parts pretty much done, but hadn't taken the time to fix any major issues and just wanted it for display to show people they were making a set. I don't think they just grabbed spare parts and slapped one together, which is what my post sounded like now that I read it again.

  5. One question, very important to me... Are they Perfect change????? I think the only piece un acocunted for in armour mode is the front shocks. I hated the orguss palm actions for that very reason, had to take bits off and lose em later...

    anyone know?

Nope, not perfect, but really close. The only things I remember being removed are the shocks and the saddle bags + anything inside the saddle bags.

  6. Along with the intakes, I remember CM's other issues being as follows:

    1) Legioss in fighter mode looks badly out of proportion (nose section too stretch out, back part mashed/squashed too close together).

    2) Legioss/Tread connected combo wasn't horizontally flush.

And might be a minor nit for most people, but the Tread cockpit was a little on the small side.

As I've said before, I prefer the Toynami asthetic design just a bit more than CM's. It's just that Toynami's track record in other areas (timeliness, materials used, QC standards, sturdiness of overall toy, updates to fans, etc.) pretty much chucks that design/look advantage down the toilet.

You're right about the ones they showed before. However, from what I can remember they are doing a complete overhaul, so who knows if we'll end up with something more traditional than what was shown. I always kinda felt like they just threw the alpha together so they would have something to show off at all b/c it wasn't up to their usually high standards of accurateness.

  7. I've been thinking about this for a day or two and can't remember. Do we ever see someone change from armor mode to cyclone mode while in motion? I remember seeing cyclone to armor, but the only armor to cyclone I remember involved scott/stick picking up the transformed armor off the ground (I could be remembering that wrong too). It's just been so long since I watched the series.

  8. I don't think they need accessories to sell considering that they have different bike designs to begin with.

Stick and Rey's bikes are basically the same. The only real difference is the right hand blaster/armor and the lack of little missile pods on Rey's forearms. Rey(Rand) should come with Mint and Stick (Scott) should get the saddle bags. Maybe we'll end up seeing that both come with saddle bags and the reviewer just didn't put them on Stick's bike for some reason???

Yellow and Houquet may not need accessories, but it'd be nice.

  9. There's no real way for me to answer that. It really depends on what parts you need, how common those parts are, who has them, how many they have, etc.

Bricklink has fluctuating prices and is very susceptible to supply and demand, since it's a fan-based site. Basically people open sets, sort the pieces, and sell them. The older and less common a piece, the more likely it's going to be expensive.

Okay, thanks for the info. Any opinion on a good program to build them digitally first (I think the official lego builder software is horrible b/c it has so few pieces in so few colors).

  10. Well, I bought the R-9A Arrow-Head that came with the R-Type Tactics game (cost $10 shipped from YesAsia on Ebay). It's really cool for $10! It comes fully painted, but unassembled. So it was kinda fun figuring out how it all went together (18 pieces total if you count the stand). No instructions, so if you get one, save the picture from the auction so you know how the stand and fighter fit together. If the fighters from the game are gonna be as nicely detailed after painting, then I'll definitely be tracking them down!

  11. The BG are actually a series of mechanical base sets made by Kotobukiya, seen here:

    Set 1

    Set 2

    Set 3

They are very good and can be chained together. The accessories that come with them are very nice, and for 1/144 models are a perfect scale to display MSes in, though CCA-era MS are a tad too big. Even the Revoltech Labours look very good in them. If you got the space to display them, I heartily recommend a set of 3 -- but they do eat up space, so getting more than that isn't recommended.

What mech is that in the first picture of set 2?

  12. This gallery is mine.

I built that several years ago. Unfortunately at the time I didn't have enough blue wings to make it completely accurate, and that was before I started buying parts from Bricklink.

Lately I've been thinking about building one of the Raiden fighters with some power-up boxes.

Cool. I just played through that game again on MAME the other day.

How much do things like that cost for you to make via Bricklink?

  13. For the Einhander fans...

    http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=16428

I ran a search on Brickshelf and turned those up. Thought they were pretty good. Now if only someone could build a mini-fig of it or some company make a candy toy of it...

    Edit:

Just found this guys page with an einhander toy/custom thing built out of some cool building blocks. Anyone know what these blocks are called?

    http://sakurairo-figure.hp.infoseek.co.jp/BJPM.html

There's even a YF-21 further down the page.

  14. Toynami's MPC is 1/10 scale, not 1/15.

I'm not too sure that theirs is really 1/10 b/c it looked like all they did was take the old model kit and make it into a figure with a few minor extras. So even if they say it's 1/10, unless they made it from scratch then it will be around 1/15.

  15. If it does end up cheap (unfortunately, this is unlikely), it would be nice as a toy to fiddle with. I like the diecast swingbars and the cargo boxes. I do not like the extremely "plasticky" look, and lack of painted detail though.

I wonder if these will be the cyclone that comes with the Beta/Alpha Tread/Legioss set by any chance b/c they look like they are too cheap to be a stand-alone product that can compete with the other ones coming out? Then again, they could just be some really tiny, really cheap figures.

  16. the japanese "letters" seem to be the same that for the Darius, i think it's another Darius ship ( don't remember the name ???)

    Edit : SILVER HAWK ! it's written :-p.....

So both the ones that come from the Darius game are Silver Hawks? Is one just gonna be a repaint then? And has anyone found these for sale anywhere other than HLJ for a decent price?

  17. I thought the sprites for both 1st player and 2nd player in LifeForce to be identical. I played the NES version btw.

Basically, the Lord British is the Vic Viper from later Gradius game w/out the two things in the front (meaning it has only the cockpit in the middle of them). No big missiles underneath either.

  18. Not sure where to get them, other than Yahoo Japan, but they are called "Dash Vehicle Go!" by the candy company Kabaya (who also made several TF toys in the past). Here's a nice review with pics:

This is their most recent offering, Change-Dashers:

Okay. Thank you very much for the information! ^_^

Too bad I don't have a PSP b/c I love SRW OG and OG2 for the GBA. I may just have to check into PSP emulators...
