  1. As long as he is fair and doesn't discriminate... then it should be ok... Remember, Fair and Balanced. Those are Thanos' words.
  2. Nice picture. I agree with the fact that the Pentagon is trying to cram too many missions into one platform. The typical example was what happened to the typical carrier air wing. I recall in the mid 80s, the air wing composition was pretty balanced and mission specific. F-14s to defend the fleet, A-6 were the medium bombers, A-7s transitioning to F-18s were the light attacks, S-3 and Sea Kings were the ASW long and short distance, KA-6B were tankers, EA-6Bs were dedicated electronic warfare, and the E-2 were the mini AWACS. Fast forward thirty years, the typical carrier air wing is undersized. There are no more dedicated ASW patrol planes any more, F-18s have taken over the role of the fleet defender, bombers, EW, and tankers the only other aircraft type they haven't replaced with the F-18s are the E-2s. Sadly, the F-18s are not great for most of those missions except may be for the light attack. This is what happens when you get the peace dividend. The USAF is not far behind, trying to replace the F-16s and A-10s with the F-35. Thankfully, the F-15E and F-16Ds aren't going to be completely retired. I suppose the other problem is the USAF or rather the various aerospace companies keep coming up with crazy concepts, like the B-1B gunship, and I think there was also a B-1R where the B-1 essentially carried a bunch of AMRAAMs and is tethered to F-22 or F-35 or something like that... not sure if I have that one mixed up with something else.
  3. Ok, so, the loser of the JSF is going to contend for the next gen air superiority fighter? That isn't even remotely realistic, if Boring goes that route, they may as well just rehash the F-23. Although I think I heard that the original Boeing JSF contender lost because it looked like a pregnant whale rather than any performance shortfalls, not sure what the reality was. But then, all Lockheed did was take the F-22 and removed an engine and weapon storage.
  4. I think the Yamato story is really Desslar's story, I always found the Gamilas portion of the story more interesting that what's going on with Yamato. I like it that 2199 really did a lot more flushing out of Gamilas, than the original series did, and made Domel more three dimensional. It seems like they're pivoting a little to Desslar's story development here. I do have to say, the most interesting part of the last four sets were episode 11, and the last two minutes of episode 14. I don't mind the space battles, but those only supplement the story of the characters. Hopefully, the 2202 storyline will be used more to flush out Desslar, because, let's face it, no one gives a crap about Zordar or the a-holes from Gatlantis. They're equivalent to the typical throwaway Marvel villain of the MCU. Where as Desslar is more like a Loki.
  5. Ok, raise your hands if you think it's just better to go with lasers. B-1B with friggin lasers. I wonder how effective that weapon will actually be, since there is no boom unless the target provides it.
  6. Is this even realistic, I mean the B-1 can't be operating supersonic while using those guns... right? right?
  7. Basically, if IW was may be the third movie in the series, and they basically had the Stark origin story, mashed him up with Cap in Civil War, and then this, then IW wouldn't have worked out. Think Justice League movie. Besides, ten years of build up as you say is forever. Thanos is probably right up there with Loki at this point in terms of a villain, I don't even mind that he had the throwaway Black Order and Outriders. For him, they were a means to an end. He didn't care one bit when he found out Ebony Maw bought the farm. Of all of Thanos minions, the Maw was the only interesting one that I wish they did more of a backstory. Although I wouldn't mind seeing him come back for revenge against Parker.
  8. I remember those, I always thought those ships were truly overgunned. Too bad we never saw them in action other than as canon fodder. The Japanese translation (from the old series) those were cruisers, and the dreadnaughts were considered battleships. Season 2 really had some good earth warships, it's just that none were ever in action for long. I know it sounds wrong, but I wouldn't mind if they made a spin off series with one of those ships in the lead, and the Yamato only in passing.
  9. So... where were those on the very first battle in episode one. Why did we need the Andromeda when clearly, all of those old earth ships had wave motion engines to jump back and forth. Oh I get it, it's for dramatic effect.... so we can have the big Andromeda reveal.
  10. Well, it seems like 2202 is going for overkill here. The first episode was not bad, and then we found out that Gatlantis cruiser was nothing but a one in a million. So, basically, not that special. And now for the next insult, we'll take those dreadnaughts and hit the copy and paste button. I'm sure the battle will be as spectacular as the plot is nonsensical. I mean, where the frigging hell did all those dreadnaughts come from? Don't give me that bullshit with the Dance of Time. Yup, it's like the Incredibles all over again, we'll make everyone special, so no one is. And I just noticed, even the WMG aren't special any more, even the old Earth cruisers have it... OMG. Somebody let loose the chaos monkey apparently.
  11. Oh no, Steve shaved.... I wonder what they're going to do, hunt down Thanos wherever he is? It would be odd if the last wish Thanos made was to unmake all the infinity stones, their effects remain, but the stones themselves disappear.
  12. You know, we all have to grow up sometimes... AND YEAH, Optimus Prime is DEAD, alright. You know at least Thanos is a better bad guy than Megatron. Even if his chin does look like a giant scrotum. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives. OPTIMUS PRIME IS STILL DEAD.
  13. honestly, no one has an idea what role she will play... so it's premature to complain about her role. You do have to admit though, the setup they had for this storyline is great. Even though some of the stand alones could've been much better. But its well developed. Since Marvel didn't bother to outline anything after Infinity Wars, who knows. I do hope Thanos survives this whole thing. I didn't mind that they killed most of the other villians in the show, but hopefully not Thanos. I am very curious how they will top this at the end of the second movie.
  14. Saw it, I will have to say that Sideshow Bob earned my money with this go. The action was decent, and not too much waste of time, mixed in the right amount of humor, character development and action.
  15. So, I have to say, I read the spoilers, and guess what, just made me want to watch this movie more. I am now curious how much Disney will make this weekend. heh heh. Hope lots of people watch a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 4th time... cause Sideshow Bob needs the money.
  16. nah, I imagine it'll follow the original pretty well. Mega attack by the ten billion Gatlantis ships killing Earth cruisers until Andromedan fights back, and probably use WMG to destroy the Gatlantis fleet. Then cue Gatlantis to wipe out the human fleet, and finale. Although I do wish they have the carrier battles, in the original season 2, Gatlantis was made out to have a very carrier heavy fleet with awesome fighters, only to be pearl harbored by Yamato and three dinky carriers.
  17. Hahahahahaha... too funny. With Jerry Brown optimism and Mitsubishi heavy industry knowhow.
  18. Ha ha, you don't want to let us buy F-22, we'll build our own damned F-22... and call it the F-23.
  19. My sentiment exactly. And besides, I grew up watching the original, I do like the reboot. I thought 2199 was better than the original season 1. It gave you an appreciation of the enemy as not a bunch of one dimensionals. Not necessarily the case for 2202 vs the original season 2. although if I had to compare it, original season 1 and season 2 had the same tone, even if I thought season 2 was better.
  20. big difference between being critical of something and hating it.
  21. I think what we have now is horrible writing, you can have robots that aren't written in such a bland manner. Wait... what... so, they're just going to make that dual deck carrier ten times normal size, and that's it... let me know when the subs are done. And let me know when Dessler get in on the act. It looks like WMG are about to rapidly become obsolete as weapons. And here is emo Kodai still whining about it. And from the looks of it, all of those pretty pretty dreadnoughts are going to be nothing more than a bunch of space stormtroopers. Hey, Zordar, why not kill the Gamilas first...
  22. May be it's just me, but I thought the end of 2199 was meaningful, and it had a good story. Without going to the series, and besides Zordar and Sabera, can you name one other Gatlantian? I know I can't, because none of them matter, they exist to die at the very next convenient moment. I can name several blue dudes without even trying, Dietz (father and daughter), Talan brothers, Berger, Frakken... all memorable characters with build up, and interesting side stories. Those are all side characters, not main ones like Domel or Dessler.
  23. my apologies, I should've slapped spoilers on this.... hope the story goes back on track for the next 4.
  24. OMG, what have they done to the series. Ep 13 was a waste of time, all this backstory about Goland and crap, why bother if you're just going to kill them, I honestly couldn't give a flying F*** about these nobodies. What was the point of wasting essentially ten minutes on this episode of the Galantean clones of stupidity. Then, we spend another five minutes with F***ing emo Kodai, at this point, I just wish he died, you know, I'm pretty sure the idea of not using the WMG to save yourself against an evil horde would count as stupidity. If Starsha is interested in saving the moronic, well, she can go hang herself. Ep 14 had basically one good point, Desslar showing up, otheirwise, another throwaway general that I don't give a crap about. Then there is a land battle that was just a massacre of idiots. This is a big contrast to 2199, where even minor characters like Dietz had at least an interesting back story. With 2202, the enemy may as well be robots, cause we just don't care at all when they die. I quite liked 2199, 2202 as a story basically sucks. I know they have to do something to puff up Gatlantis, and drive model sales, but not at the expense of the story. Hey guys who are writing 2202, take a lesson from Gundam the Origin, there is not nearly as much combat, but it's an awesome OVA because of the fantastic story.
