U know whats an awesome co-incidence Anubis? The reason why I got this test subject,*and a couple of other test subjects yet to be made,* was FOR an eva kit, funny you should mention it! The one of Misato in this pic shows something I wanted to make, but wanted to make *well*. So, a few kits later and I will tackle it I also found this one of Rei which looked kinda cool. Belldandy was something I picked up later and while I dont like Sailor moon generally, when I saw this Saturn kit, I couldn't resist So yeh, got a couple of other 'sacrificial lambs' before i tackle eva kits, but its all in prep, trial and error.. Um, dunno, thought it was right? Personally I had always thought it was Rook but when I saw it on my Model box as FUKE TYPE, thats what I thought it was. heh, thanks for the clarification mate I knew it sorta rang a bell, but didn't know bout that pyseudonym part, thanks How bout I will just get this moved to the OTHER ANIME section, as it seems to be a consensus on it not being Millia, which i already know, and just make it 'The green haired girl'. I think it would be better not to attempt it it seems to style after a character and show it off here, more negative seems to come of it. Didn't realise it would be such a problem to try and make it as close to the character colours, without changing the sculpt. It was a test of transparency painting skills, now hentai cuz of nipples i guess showing through, which I thought came out pretty good for a first go, so whatever.... For those who just want to see what the hair turned out like, heres a newer pic. I dont know if the hair highlights are overdone, but its a trial, so.. oh, also put the matte finish on, dulls it back the right way now. I know its not millia, so no need to keep pointing that out. Thnks for the feedback. ur right about the hair, seeing as I had just painted, I couldn't matte finish it so its still glossy Also need to add light green into the hair for the 'anime hightlight' effect i really cant remember the name of the kit, I got it cuz it looked simple to put together,*few parts* and it was a good test subject. 'Overdard??' seems to stick in my head, but I dont know if its the girls name or brand or series or what.?? It could be G Taste like SK said, but I dont know..Still, its looked interesting but simple. Now Roy, there are no kits out there for me to make Millia from so allow this fanboy his dreams or nothing I could come across that looked like her. Howdy folks, just a couple of shots of what I just finished, (other than the mospeada ride armour that is..), its my first attempt at a resin kit that i bought off ebay.. was only a cheapy, but quite happy with how it turned out ! Basically only pinned a couple of things..it was a god awful fit and I had to amputate her left foot and pin it lower, putty and sand it back so it looks normal and both feet touch the ground! I used tamiya acrylics, base is flat flesh using brown and white for darkened pits and raised areas. Im loving these transparent colours still, and as i wanted a 'see through' dress, what better paint to use than see through red! Gold trimmed to mimic that minmei china doll dress, and green haired beauty that is darling Millia! Might have to do some more highlights in her hair in the morning though.. its 1:10am ni the morning, and have a busy day ahead of me! WARNING.. its a bit risque!! No prob, glad to help wolfx I have now done some more work on Mospeada, actually, ive done quite a lot Literally only have to clear coat some bits i just oil washed*tomorrow, its too wet now..* and decal it. Face is now painted, but clear glossed the visor on the outside and it has left a stippled effect, looks pretty yuck, but dont know how to get rid of it without damage, and I dont have futures floor wax to dip into so i guess im kinda stuck.. You might notice there are some more 'reflective' parts as well... I have been going to town on the 'silver with clear on top' effects, trying to fit it everywhere i can, its just so effective for lights and stuff.. Even did the pop up lcd on his targetting system! Cant quite get the camera to focus on it though... Also need to get some decent bases, these timber offcuts aren't that great, might have to go to spotlight and get some o those round things.. would look better, and maybe put a logo or something on them representing each Mars or Jupiter base ... Only one pic for now, want to show it off properly when i have it fully finished tomorrow, this is just the teaser,... notice Im trying to put Australia on the world map ? Man this is gorgeous...! The weathering on the rivetts with those pastel/chalk pencils is awesome, Im excited to try it out on something! The metal effect is unbelievable, did u only use aluminium and steel for its colouring? Base alu with steel shade? Have you ever made a bad model? It looks like u keep finding new ways of doing even better job all the time. Did you have a pic of all the models uve done in a lineup at any stage, it would be interesting to see your evolving skills my friend, cuz everytime i see one amazing thing i think cant be outdone, u lift the bar level of skill again I really need to read this thread each day, its so much to take in in one go Whats ur next project after this William? Hey, well, I actually have a brand called "holder", so cant offer any real advice on those models of aircompressor u mentioned sorry I guess its more in the technique of ur airbrushing, thats the hard part cuz all those compressors will blow air, and so long as it holds it pressure for your longest single spray*which they all will really* you'll be right.. Im noticing with each model, I can see where i have been influenced/inspired by the models done on this website, and each one is like a guidepost, sorry if this sounds introspective, but its true.. constantly evolving..! I hope u do a couple of tests on paper before bringing it near your model, and I can say this for sure, be fussy with your paint consistency, its important. Annoying, sometimes hard, but always important...! Im an hour off from posting my final pics! It will basically be Valk, Gerwalk, Battroid, Then Armoured Battroid, Half armoured Valk, half armoured valk! if u need a closeup of anything, let me knw here and I will try and do it before posting.. I *am* however considering getting a second 'play around' kit to do some things I wanted to do... like for instance, doing things metallic that on a normal bike or weapon would be metal, and a proper colour scheme,*sorry baby puke green, ur just not military * But thats just a thought... still got an SV 51 to build, so mustn't get to far ahead of myself Still can't convince myself of the colour to use, but I do know one thing,... I WILL be useing those awesome metallic paints that William used on his metal and gunpod, DAMN I love those effects! Bsu, Jung, I haven't tried doing those sort of effects yet, I usually like to test them out, woudln't wanna stuff it up... might have to make up a test subject first to get the technique down... u reckon maybe dry brush a couple of corners in silver/steel? for the worn look eh? Wolfx, ur right, it never DID show up in the show, *as far as I can remember*, even in the original uncut version i think. aww, thanks guys. Was worried no one really wanted to see a Super Deformed progress, maybe there was no love for the little guys, so if it didn't get any hits, was not gonna worry bout posting on it. So if u r still getting a kick out of it, I will still post easy hopefully tonight it will be dry enough in the oil wash to clear coat, but really all that means is that it will be dry enough for me to play with thats what I want to do, take photos of armour on, armour off, valk mode, etc, as a final collage of how cool this thing really is So thanks asianlove and Dyo, and Dyo, just wondering, did u start painting yet urs? Or not had the time? Side shot... I think i might wanna make it look grittier... not sure yet... it will involve either a clever mix of paints, attacking with tamiya smoke, or hitting with oils.. I think i will sleep on it though.. its 12pm, so I guess I should htink of going to sleep now .

Well, nothing few hours spent, from yesterday i did the black airbrush on, and a few other bits, and tonight i did the oil wash, and ended up smudging round the oils, almost painting it on to give it more depth.... i wasn't happy with the shading colour i had before,and the black oil is quite helpful.. Bit of tidying is still needed, but hey, i will leave that till tomorrow before work I reckon... Oh, and a bit of good news on my part.. Hmm, doesn't seem to be any love for this thread. bit dissapointing but oh well, anyways,... Well, just spent the last 3 or less hours doing oil washes for both this guy and Mospeada Ride Armour, and did a little bit of tidying up onthe edges using cotton ear buds and paint brush with thinners.. so most lines are where they should be.. Just need to let it dry for a day or so, then I can fix up any over seepage of the oils, then clear coat to protect the guy! **oh, and i also want ot fix his visor, it looks kinda fugly at the moment, i reckon i can do it better now i have done most of everything else i was leaving it to the last minute to fix ! heh*** Soon he will be sitting proudly in my dragon cabinet... ! Not that I have any help to offer, I wish i did, but can i ask, do you have to melt this white metal? Or is it a compound you mix up and it sets like a metal? Colour me confused.. So whatcha casting bits of? broken a landing gear or something?

Thanks guys, I love these kits as well. Im working on trying to get the other two as well, but patience is something i need. I actually have the 1/12 kit of lancer already made, but its not as good a job as these, but still have two other kits in 1/12 of Mospeada, so Im hoping to use my latest skills on it Im only using tamiya paints actually, standard Green and white, perfect for puke colour LOL. For the shading I used grey and green, and various dipping of black for desired effect As for bateau, thats actually a figure, not a kit, so i just put in on cuz he's cool thanks again, I will be sure to put up more as I progress Sam
