  1. Really awesome! I like nearly all of the movements, but agree that the head pops up very fast. The leg movements look natural to me for a vehicle that is going to change it's shape and center of gravity, it would need to move a little to staiblize it's footing. Can't wait to see more, that's quality work!
  2. You've had enough time to recuperate! Now get back to work on that diorama!! jk Hope you're feeling better, especially for the holidays.
  3. Can't wait to see some diorama progress pics!
  4. While I like the plane and the box art, I have a bit of a problem with it. It looks like they just added on to the wings and changed/extended the rudders of an ordinary VF-0 type. It seems to me that those changes would have predicated a plane with many more changes. ie: fuselage style. I mean you can still see the space in front of the wings that opens up when the wings pivot. I haven't seen Mac-0 yet though so I admit, I don't know what other changes may show in the anime, or all of the reasons for this model. Just my .02
  5. Very nice! This is the second time in a couple of months that I have seen one of these older kits that really impressed me. This shows that with a careful build up and a good paint job these old kits can look really nice! Keep up the good work and keep showing those old kits some love! Thanks for sharing the pics.
  6. Hey, glad you liked the idea! It really just came to me in a flash as I was writing that message. I can't wait to see your progress! If I ever get the time, surely not until after the holidays I'm going to have to make up a river crossing scene too. I'll use a different mech though! Please give some details on the gel medium. I'm very interested in it's properties and how you apply it, tint it etc. Do you get it at a model shop or a craft store? Does it have a brand name? Thanks for sharing your excellent work.
  7. Yeah, I've bought from him before. He's a good guy, and trustworthy seller. The shipping from Thailand to the US takes a while, but he packs good and doesn't gouge you on the shipping. His Engrish can be funny, but I know he's just trying to make his auction exciting. I salute him for having fun with his hobby and with his auctions!
  8. I have to second Ido's comment. My wife is cool with my modeling projects, and she even likes to look at some of them, but she wouldn't know what an Abrams was or where to get one much less what the scale means! As for the diorama, I would think of a convoy like scene on a small stretch of road. OR a river crossing scene, yeah that would be cool! That's it, I'm gonna keep my ideas to myself now. I may want to use them!

    Dropping a deuce

For all of you squeemish readers out there, I say relax. It's only poop! It washes. I have two kids, and they've dropped so many things down the bowl I've lost count. Luckily it's always been clean so I just reach in and grab whatever they dropped and then wash like crazy with soap and hot water. They of course think it's the grossest thing in the world. But our dog and cat both drink out of the toilet, and then the kids will let them lick their faces right after. Go figure. Here's my best story though, One time I dropped a brand new bar of soap down the toilet and it slid right on down the drain. How far? I couldn't tell, but it was out of sight so I left it. I figured it would soften up and wash away. Well, we had to go through about two weeks of carefully flushing in small amounts because the toilet would barely drain while that soap was stuck in there, and it would almost overflow. I got quite a bit of razzing from the wife for that trick!

    Dropping a deuce

UN-BE-LIEVEABLE! You definitely can't make this stuff up! So, would you rather your wife catches you playing with you transforming toy in there or would you rather she catches you with porn in there? I think you're pretty hosed either way! You'll never live either of those down!
  11. Is he transformable? Let me tell ya, a baby boy will keep you even more busy than the girls! Have fun and congratulations!
  12. Thanks for those comparison pics! They really show off that this is a nice size model even though it is 1/160 scale. Wow! If Yamato does get the 1/60 scale monster out that is going to be GINORMOUS! Great job on the model. I've got the 1/200 one that I need to restore and hopefully find some other decent mech models to go with it.
  13. That kit really looks great! The pic with the VF-0 really shows off the size. I'd like to see a nice full side view if you get the chance, maybe with that VF-0 in the background again. Thanks for sharing you work. We all like to see other builders, work around here.
  14. WOW! To me this model has the perfect amount of weathering. The paint job on the pilot is great too! I have to say those missle packs look huge on a VF with no fast packs. Great job as usual. Thanks for the pics!

    Zero VF-0S

Great pics. Thanks for sharing. I usually don't like the very heavily weathered planes, but I like it here!
  16. A lot of people here don't like it, but I would say it's easily worth ten bucks.
  17. I've got to say that your finishing work is as good as your sculpting and casting work! Awesome! This project continues to get better as John works on it. It's beautiful! Thanks to everyone involved for the hard work and passion that has been put into this project. Now I've just got to get more money to buy these things!

    Who spends more?

It's gotta be the fools like me who spen dway too much on both toys and models!
  19. Thanks for these pics guys! I've never seen these valks before. I really like the SW-XA. I like it a lot better than the Mac 0 valks actually. I'd say that model comes really close to the artwork too. The feet and the nose could use just a little tweaking maybe, but other than that it seems dead-on. Any mor einfo on these would be appreciated.
  20. That starting bid price is absurd! I don't think it really looks like the old Trek communicator either.
  21. I'm all for this. I subscribe to FSM and I really enjoy it. I can always apply the techniques they describe on any sci-fi model, but I would definitely enjoy seeing some pro coverage of WF. I'll have to sign up there and give your post some support.
  22. I gotta put my $.02 in. That is a fantastic scratchbuild. Heck, it would be fantastic if it was straight from a kit, but you have gone all out on that figure and made a masterpiece. It's probably my favorite interpretation of Minmay! You obviously have some incredible skills. Maybe you should look into producing some of your own original kits!. Thanks for sharing your work. It is inspiring.
  23. Well, anyone who would pay that much for a jetfire deserves to get ripped off I think. That price is way off the chart. Its past gouging and into the ridiculus category. It's laughable! The seller really should disclose the fact about the damaged armor though.

    SDF playset

Sleddogg is the pic finding master! Is that your personal prize? Gotta love the trap door-jail cell built to hold a 40 foot tall alien!
  25. Yeah you got a great deal! You beat me to the punch by a couple of minutes. Hope you like the low-vis, I'm still lookin for one!
