  1. Another day at the office. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9uGD2upNGE&feature=related
  2. I know the US manga release stopped prematurely. I've tried looking for translated scans of the rest of the manga series been unsuccessful so far. Some of the stuff I hear happening towards the end while pretty out there (drone F/A-18s and a land carrier) have peaked my interest in progressing with the series.
  3. Finished watching both the OVA and TV series of Area 88. Have to say I wish they'd do another OVA. The TV series was good, I liked the music but there was something about the animation I just didn't like as opposed to the original. I actually liked the fact that you'd see aircraft falling apart and not just disappearing in a ball of smoke. Just that extra eye for detail. I especially liked the detail they put into drawing aircraft like the A-4s and Kfir C2s.
  4. I went right into ME2 and never played ME1 though really should at some point. Played through it twice with the second playthrough on Insanity just to get the Gold trophy. The extended ending sounds like Bioware applying a bandaid to a severed arm. The hardcore fans have pretty much already made up their minds from what I've read.
  5. The only airline I can remember flying with was NW and that was going from Detroit to Narita and back. Not the most pleasant of trips. The food was average but I didn't eat much of it after trying my first meal on the flight.
  6. Was looking forward to this title for quite sometime but the backlash after its release forced me to hold off. Poor ending aside, how does the game stack up to the previous two titles? I'll probably still wait till the game goes on sale or drops in price before finally picking it up.
  7. I'm still surprised by the weight gain between the YF-22 and the F-22A. I have to wonder how much more a production F-23A would have weighed by comparison. Also, I know they said it was agile, not as much as the Lightning II but it sounded like the YF-23 could easily out turn an F-15 by the way they were describing it in the video.
  8. Was saddened when I saw this. Great shots nontheless. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/space-shuttle-discovery-makes-final-flight-over-washington-dc/2012/04/18/gIQAMtqcQT_story.html
  9. I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Airbender and was definitely not going to miss this. The animation has certainly improved and the acting hasn't degraded one bit. It's funny cause I read this show was meant for ages 2-11. I'd say that got blown right out of the water since I know people in their late 30s that enjoyed Korra. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
  10. The design was well ahead of its time and it's a shame that politics, like with the Tigershark, was what killed this plane. I think that the YF-23 was a more practical design for today's world than the YF-22. It was faster, stealthier and judging by the design, could carry a greater payload of weapons, or atleast more conveniently hold them. Separate compartments had to be made to accommodate Sidewinders for the YF-22. Thrust vectoring is nice but I don't see it being practical given the current aerial combat tactics used now. It seems like more roles could have been filled with the YF-23s design. As someone pointed out, they were even looking towards it to potentially fulfill a bomber role. A stealth replacement for the F-15E possibly?
  11. Got to agree with this. The F-14D or even the B would have been great to see and preferable to anything in current use. Rent some Mirage F1s as the adversary aircraft, if that was even possible, and you might have had something back then worthy being a sequel.
  12. The movie is going to suck anyway. Could've made it somewhat palatable with an F/A-18E/F but they just have to promote the 35 in this.
  13. Just read this story. Hope no one was seriously injured or worse.
  14. Nice F-22 shot. Some shots of the F-35A doing its first night aerial refuel.
  15. The first two movies were okay but I just couldn't find any interest in the movies after Apocalypse. I'm a fan of the old-school Resident Evil games and I just didn't dig the movies diverting so far from them.
  16. An F-35 as the star plane means no Goose character. Granted, I'm not seeing this movie ever making it.
  17. God that thing is big. Still looks like a pure AWACS killer to me. Good video of Hornet carrier ops.
  18. That's what happens when they try to get a single aircraft to do everything imho, and not to get too political, the government can't get its fiscal policies in order. I still think the F-22 would make a decent multirole aircraft or even as a strike aircraft like the F-15E if properly converted.
  19. Wasn't an SNES kid back in the day. Also, I've wanted to play it but always got caught up with some other title. Actually, I just beat that finally. Been on abit of a JRPG binge as of late.
  20. Doing a playthrough of Chrono Cross but have to ask. Would it be better to play through Chrono Trigger first? I've not played Trigger yet and I'm concerned I might miss certain plot elements, if there linked. I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3 but still have reservations about picking it up right off the bat. May just wait it out hear the verdict or when some kind of sale comes up on Amazon.
  21. I'm still abit baffled as to why they never included the original MGS in the HD Collection, unless it was a space issue but I can't see that being the case with it being blu-ray. It would have just been nice to have seen a more complete collection.
  22. Considering how high the bar was set in Uncharted 2, I'm not expecting much of an improvement out of Uncharted 3. I'm still debating about buying it. I just want a game with a compelling storyline, something I'll enjoy. Much of which I have read you get in UC3. Also, I beat Xenogears for the first time yesterday. I have to say, I wish I had played this game back when it first came out. It's definitely worth all the praise it received. I'm glad I had read about the development issues with Disc 2 cause much of what happened at that point in the game left me for a loop. It's a shame this game wasn't delivered in its entirety. Also, that we'll never see anything like it again out of Square Enix.
  23. I tried the demo for FFXIII-2 and like XIII, I'm just not digging the style of the game. Maybe I'll rent it sometime. I just don't care for the direction Square has taken the series since FFX and especially after XII.
  24. Unfortunately with the higher dependencies on drones to do missions will come a higher risk of being countered with newer electronic countermeasures and even espionage. While fighters may be seen a deterrent in the near future, there is really no telling what kind of conflict we may be forced into and I don't think talking about (by politicians) and preparing for fighting only low intensity conflicts in the future is a smart move. Even if we reach a point where drones can do most of the air operations, an enemy force may be advanced enough that any or most drones are rendered ineffective in a combat area and we have to resort to using human piloted aircraft.
  25. I haven't really cared for a MS flight sim since FS2004 and FS 5.0. I barely touch FSX actually. Yeah, this is looking too arcade now.
