Just buy it from Amazon UK. Even with shipping, it'll probably be cheaper. And if your local TRU doesn't have one now, it's not likely to ever get (another) one. Apparently my local TRU only ever have four, so I was glad to get one from their website.Side note: I've decided that, while I love almost everything about MP-10, I hate his "ion cannon." In the process of making it fold up and store in his back (like a scene from a Dreamwave issue, I think), Prime wound up with a weapon that looks tiny in relation to the rest of him. I've been posing mine with the rifle from MP-01.- 17965 replies

I can't definitively say that it's normal, since I don't have a MyBook (I have five externals, and four of them are the portable kind that are only plugged in when I want to use them). I'm also 98% a Windows guy, and don't bother to back up either of the Macs I own. What I will say is that there's a good chance that it's normal. Windows, since Vista, performs disk operations from time to time to prevent the drive from becoming fragmented. I assume Mac OS does something similar, since I've never heard of fragmentation being an issue for a Mac. Another thing to consider is that the drive could be doing SMART testing or other diagnostics. -

Was running errands, and stopped at TRU for the heck of it. No new Prime or FoC Deluxes, but they had four pegs of FoC two pack "data discs", and a ton of Voyager Soundwave and Soundblasters. Ultimately, I passed on all of them. $10.99 is too much for a pair of pogs that turn into robots, bats, and jaguars that look like butt and have no poseability. As for Soundwave, I do think that the Voyager looks a bit better than the Deluxe, but not enough (and the Deluxe I already have is more in scale with the other WfC/FoC figures I have).- 17965 replies

Mine had nothing but Prime Bumblebees and plenty of first-wave FoC. Which sucks, because I've basically given up on Prime, and really just want FoC Onslaught, Brawl, Starscream, and Kickback. Eh? I thought TRU was the only store that was supposed to have FE? Well, if you do ever find a PRID Vehicon, buy him. I don't have a FE Vehicon to compare him to, but I can say he's probably my favorite Prime figure so far, due almost entirely to the fact that he looks awesome in alt mode, awesome in bot mode with very little car kibble, and it's almost entirely due to an ingenious transformation that takes the top 30% of the car and keeps folding it in on itself to become the bulk of his lower legs. He'd be perfect, if his arms didn't have such a weird elbow.- 17965 replies

Grimlock's got a hollow torso that his head fits into so he doesn't have a huge dino head for a backpack, and he looks to be better than either Classics Deluxe or Animated Voyager Grimlock. And the back of FoC Prime's legs are hollow so his thighs fit in them for his transformation, making him no worse than WfC Megatron, or Classics/Universe/RTS/Generations Mirage, Prowl, Wheeljack, Tracks, Smokescreen, Silverstreak, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, or Scourge, and only slightly worse than RTS Jazz and Universe Onslaught.I'm not saying the FoC has been great. Shockwave's a little small and spindly and has a wretched alt mode. For legs that don't do anything but fold up underneath, Jazz has awful poseability. The three Combaticons I've managed to get my hands on (Swindle, Vortex, and Blast-Off) have been particularly wretched, with scout-quality figures horribly compromised to ensure that they can transform into bot, alt, arm, or leg. And in Swindle's case especially, the hollow plastic complaint is justified with forearms that are clearly hollow for no other reason than to skimp on plastic. And I know they can do much better (Transformers Prime RID Vehicon stands out as a particularly awesome recent Deluxe). But FoC Prime, for all of his faults, is actually the best FoC figure so far, with solid bot mode that pegs into a solid alt mode. And Grimlock's looking pretty good too, IMHO. I don't expect a Deluxe or Voyager figure to be perfect, just good enough.- 17965 replies

Complaining about the hollow spaces on FoC toys is getting old. I mean, one figures like Swindle, where his forearms are hollow for no better reason than to save plastic, sure, I get it. But having some hollow spaces on the back Grimlock's legs in bot mode and some of his underside in dino mode due to his transformation isn't that big a deal. I mean, he's a Voyager, not a Masterpiece, and tons better than Classics Deluxe Grimlock (who I intend to replace with FoC Grimlock on my Classics shelf).- 17965 replies

I've got the same CPU and same amount of RAM, but I used an Asus P8Z77-V mobo, a 128GB Kingston 200V SSD to boot, a GeForce GTX 660ti, a 1TB Western Digital for installing games, and a 3TB Seagate Barracuda for storage. What case an PSU did you use? I used a white NZXT Phantom and a 750w Antec HCG PSU. I've traditionally used Antec cases and have been pretty pleased, but I'm actually really happy with the Phantom. FWIW, I'm not convinced the GTX 670 is worth it. Yeah, it puts up some awesome numbers, but the 660ti doesn't sacrifice too much performance and it costs a lot less. -
I don't think he's arguing that it's different from G1, and I don't think he's clamoring for live action G1 designs. If Transformers gets a live-action reboot someday, I'd hope that the characters have at least some connection to their G1 counterparts. Like Ironhide could at least be red, and have a little more personality than "I shoot big guns!"

Maybe if he turns up at one of my regular stores. I surely wasn't paying the $19 Kmart wanted. Between two Targets, two Walmarts, and a Kmart, I've only seen Combaticons at one of the Walmarts. Found a solitary Vortex one day. Went back a few days later and found a solitary Blast Off. At this point, I'm thinking I'll just order the other three on Amazon. Seems like Hasbro's distribution crapped the bed around the original WfC and RTS lines (I never saw Perceptor at regular retail, only at Marshall's), and ever since toy hunting for Transformers just isn't fun anymore. Combine that the price increases and the quality reduction, and I think I might quit entirely soon.- 17965 replies

You mean Prime Deluxe Rumble? He was the only Deluxe-class Transformer at a Kmart sort of near me. I passed. I couldn't see any reason to get non-show character who bears so little resemblance to his G1 counterpart, despite the fact that my Prime Autobots must outnumber the Decepticons 2-1.- 17965 replies

As much as I'm complaining, I'll get the other three if I see them, and I do want Voyager FoC Grimlock and Deluxe FoC Starscream whenever they're released. But I'm skipping Soundwave, Blaster, and probably Kickback from the FoC line, and I'm probably already done with Prime (unless Dreadwing turns out awesome).- 17965 replies

Between my house and where I work, I basically have two Targets and two Walmarts. There is one TRU around, but it's near the mall and traffic around there isn't worth the aggravation this time of year. Anyway, both of the Targets have a FoC Optimus and a Shockwave or two, and two or three pegs of Prime Bumblebee. Surprisingly, both Targets had Powerizer/Voyager Prime Starscream and Optimus. I imagine Starscream would be quite a find if I didn't already find him and Bulkhead at TRU a few months back. Of the Walmarts, the one had pretty much nothing but DotM Voyager Optimus. The other has several Prime Optimuses (Optimi?), a few Prime Bumblebees, a lone FoC Optimus, and amazingly enough FoC Vortex and FoC Blast Off. Let's be clear: the SDCC Bruticus would have been the way to go, and I would have bought on at the Hasbro Toy Shop like I have past SDCC exclusives had it ever been available. While not perfect, it was similar to the game. Blast Off and Vortex's G2 colors look better than the regular retail toys, I think. Problem is, a red Swindle and a yellow Onslaught just don't work for me, so with SDCC Bruticus off the table, retail it is. And... there's not a lot to say about them, really. I'll get Hasbro some credit for making a combiner figure that don't need extra kibble parts (unlike the original G1/G2/RiD combiners) but actually have individual limbs with hands (unlike the Energon combiners). On the other hand, Deluxe prices have crept up to $15, while they've gone down in quality a lot. My Vortex is missing the Decepticon insignia on his chest. They're both similar in size to FoC Optimus or Shockwave. Both of them have a number of hollow spots, especially Vortex's lower legs and Blast Off's arms. I understand if Hasbro has to charge more because of inflation/rising petroleum costs, but if they're going to jack up the price and cut the quality, I'm probably going to buy a lot fewer Transformers.- 17965 replies

Finished Persona 4 Golden. Didn't have a social link high enough to get the Golden exclusive dungeon, but otherwise played it to the true ending. Far and away the best game on the Vita. If you have a Vita, get the game. If you don't have a Vita and never played Persona 4 on the PS2, buy a Vita and get the game.- 7067 replies

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
mikeszekely replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ok, I bought a Wii U last night. My initial impression is that it's slow... it boots up slowly, when you pick to load settings or whatever it loads slowly, it's slow going back to the main menu, etc. It took a little over an hour to do the initial system update, then about another hour or so to transfer my stuff from the Wii to the Wii U (during which it froze). The setup process took so long I didn't actually play a game on it until this morning. I'm also a little disappointed that the Gamepad can't go further from the Wii U. On the plus side, the graphics are nice and crisp. I actually quit playing after the release of New Super Mario Bros Wii (yes, I totally skipped playing Skyward Sword) just because the Wii looked awful on my TV. And while the Gamepad is pretty large, it's pretty comfortable to hold, so I already like the Wii U a lot more than the Wii. Now I just wish there were more games for it that I don't already own on PC. It's not that the Wii U doesn't have good games... it's just that I already own Arkham City and Darksiders II, and if I buy Black Ops 2 you can bet it'll be on PC.- 7067 replies

Actually, I have a 3DS so I figure that not only will NSMBU be similar to the NSMBW, but also NSMB and NSMB2. Strangely, that's actually a draw for me.According to Target's product description, the Gamepad in the Basic set still has an AC Adapter. As long as the thing charges, I don't really care if it's a cradle or not. I've already got a power strip sitting on table piled with my phone, my wife's phone, my 3DS, my Vita, her MP3 player, and so on. So I'm leaning toward saving the $50 and just getting a basic.- 7067 replies

Aside from the greater amount of internal storage (which seems irrelevant in light of the fact that you can use external hard drives with it) and Nintendoland (which I'm pretty sure I have zero interest in) is there any compelling reason to buy the Deluxe Wii U over the Basic? Honestly, I haven't been actively hunting for one, but the last time I was at Target that had a whole pile of Basic units. At the moment, the only game I'm really interested in is New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, and the only announced game that has me really considering a Wii U is Bayonetta 2. I don't need console stands or Gamepad stands or anything like that, and I've got at least two external hard drives I can give up to the Wii U and still have three left over for backups.- 7067 replies

It's not much of an upgrade... like dizman said, I'd wait and see. Unless you never use your 360? I'm thinking about selling my 360 too, but that's more because it's one of the last-run of regular 360s (120GB) before they went to the S, and when my wife decided she wanted Kinect for her birthday I wound up getting a 250GB Kinect holiday bundle. Don't really need two Xboxes...- 7067 replies
