  1. I personally think Citizen Stack is a much better toy than MP Magnus, but I do think that KFC took some liberties with the character that may not be for everyone.
  2. JET7's pics remind me how much I hate seeing the Combiner Wars jets as arms with the tail pointing up (not intentionally singling out or criticizing JET7; I've seen plenty of pics with arms like that). It just looks backward to me. I mean, if the arm were turned in, as if Bruticus (or Superion) were putting his hands on his hips, I'd expect to see a stretched-out plane, not a plane that was stretched out and rotated 180 degrees in the middle. Moving from that position to a position where the elbow bend is in the front would, in my mind, mean that the bottom of the plane should be facing the front. Might just be me, though.
  3. I'm happy you're happy, and you're getting closer to getting the figure you want. And while I'll gladly concede that Willis does look more 'toon accurate, I personally think the toy-colored darker green Gundog is where it's at. Then again, I'm not really into Masterpiece-style toys, so as long as you're happy...
  4. I think my biggest beef with the MP Magnus mold is that Combiner Wars Leader Magnus is almost as good at a price point where its problems are more forgivable, plus it's less chunky to boot. Granted, Leader Magnus isn't as G1 cartoon accurate, but he is accurate to the excellent More Than Meets the Eye comic right down to Minimus Ambus, and for me at least that makes it more palatable for him not to have a white Prime jammed up in there. As for Star Saber, from what I can tel my complaints would be the huge forearms, the color scheme that looks like a McDonald's Happy Meal toy, and the fact that the alt mode with the V-Star attached looks like a pointy brick. I can't really fault the MP for any of that, though. For an MP it does seem to have a fairly simple transformation, but again I think that's more a problem with the character design than the toy.
  5. Ok, that makes sense. I didn't watch any reviews on Star Saber, so I don't really have an opinion. I guess I'm glad for the Japanese fans who wanted him, but I'd never seen Victory and I have no attachment to the character so I wasn't going to shell out a ton of money for him.
  6. Why? Is there any appreciable difference, beyond the nebulous "Hasbro is floppy crap while Takara makes products God wants to buy" argument/battle cry of the Takara fanpeople? Dude, I wished they'd have done with with regular MP Magnus. I got bored while playing with the baby this afternoon and watched peaugh's review of MP Magnus... so glad I passed on him.
  7. TFSource is listing MP-31 as Delta Magnus, aka Powered Convoy, aka Ultra Magnus in Diaclone colors.
  8. Look... if someone had a good story or script, I'd be all about this movie. It wouldn't matter if the Ghostbusters were all girls or all horses. But at no point since this turd's been announced have we seen any evidence of that. From the get-go, the pitch has been "Let's do Ghostbusters... except this time they're all women!" That's not a plot, and hardly an idea worth building a movie on. And for the record, I like Melissa McCarthy. I thought Spy was a fun way to spend an afternoon (although Statham stole the show there). But whoever started this notion that Kristen Wiig is funny should be publicly shamed.
  9. I'm with everyone else that's basically saying that it's nice, but not $400 nice.
  10. Well, both, in my case. I had some of the early Marvel TBPs, but I also had a toy that turned into a gun that made cool sounds... Especially because I actually had a Shackwave.
  11. Could be. But explore, if you will, the possibility that you are being entirely fair.
  12. Don't get me wrong, the previous two Gundam Breaker games were pretty easy to play in Japanese, but if I can have it in English, then why the heck not? Besides, I was ready to pull the trigger on the Japanese version, but waiting means I can play Far Cry Primal instead.
  13. Yeah, I've heard Conquest is pretty punishing even for fans of the series. If I get either version it'll be birthright, but to be honest I haven't even played any games in the series. I heard they're good... in the same way Disgaea and FF Tactics are, and those are two series I just couldn't get into. I'm not much for tactics games (although I love Project X Zone).
  14. Yeah, the thing's an ancient 20" black Friday special I picked up for my then-girlfriend's dorm at college. RF or (mono) composite jacks only. That TV's managed to stick with us when we moved into our first apartment, even as the better CRT we had in our living room got dumped for a DLP TV. We moved from the apartment into a house, got a LED for one bedroom and an LCD for the other, and trashed the DLP in favor of a larger LED in the living room, but this little crappy CRT TV stayed. Considering that the girlfriend I bought it for has been my wife for nearly 14 years now, I'd have to say that the TV's gotta be 16 or 17.
  15. Alright, screw the PlayStation TV. I got PS4 streaming working on the Nvdia Shield TV.
  16. You're in for a treat, David. The Mega Man X collection is a little spartan, but it's nice to have X-X6 is one place. The Mega Man Anniversary Collection, though, is still the best Mega Man collection to date. I have a PS2 hooked up to an old CRT TV in my basement and I play it when I'm feeling particularly stressed.
  17. JB0 might be exaggerating, but he's not wrong, and your example of RotF Leader Prime is an example that strengthens his case. Yes, for adult collectors it was one of the best representations of movie Prime, practically just a few paint apps and accessories from being a movie-line MP. But, arguably more so that the Generations line, the movie toys were aimed at kids, kids who found Leader Prime to complicated to figure out. Heck, a lot of parents who weren't themselves into transformers struggled with him.
  18. Hey, I'm not saying you shouldn't demand higher quality... it's pretty much the reason 3P exists. I'm just saying you think you guys would know better by now than to expect it from a non-MP Has/Tak toy. Especially a deluxe.
  19. You guys do know that the engine feet are totally animation accurate, right? And if it's not obvious by the color differences on the other Combaticons, Takara is all about animation accuracy. I'm not sure why, at this point, this is even a surprise anymore. Is it possible to build a better transforming shuttle (even with HasTak's budgets)? Absolutely. Is it possible to make said shuttle a combiner that can be both an arm and a leg and compatible with the system used on however many combiners they've made in the UW/CW line? Probably. And yet, Blast Off's design is pretty consistent with the rest of line, especially the jets.
  20. So, some good news on the Unite Warriors front... Hisashi Yuki has been posting pics of Blast Off on Twitter, and it looks like the tail fin does split in half, and it can be left on the back of his legs if you don't want to partsformer it onto his back.
  21. The Stunticons? Don't get me wrong, I'm cool with more choices, but there's already official Stunticons and 1.2 going on 3 3P Stunticons. Unless you mean WfC/FoC style, then... wasn't Breakdown the only one in the games? I liked the Cybertron games and the character designs in the game (especially the moving bits that really gave the sense that yes, the Transformers are robots, but they're living beings). I just have a personal preference for G1-style.
  22. Siegfried is Awesome: a Story in Four Pictures Felisaber: "Hey, a sleeping dragon! Maybe he will play with me!" Felisaber: "Wake up, sleepy head. Er, sleepy heads." Siegfried: "QUIT POKING ME, YOU LAME EXCUSE FOR TIGRIS!" Siegfried: "Yeah, you better run, you penguin-toting remold only an MMC fan could love!" In all seriousness, Siegfried is the most fun I've had with a transforming toy in forever and is totally worth picking up even if you don't get the rest of the Ordin team. Disclaimer: I actually do love Felisaber. I don't have Tigris or Talon yet, but he's my favorite of the Feralcons I do have.
  23. At least it wasn't a P-Bandai like the Z'Gok. But I'm with you... more RG grunts! RG GM! RG Nemo! RG Dom! RG Marasai!
  24. That's probably fair, and when I get them I'll definitely call out their flaws. I'll also say that what someone thinks is a minor dlaw could be a dealbreaker for someone else. Given how much I like Siegfeied, I'm hoping that I can live with the limb-bots' flaws. When I have the complete set, I'll be sure to check for this. I will say that, due to the way his legs collapse and bend with a dedicated joint instead of bending at Hun-Gurrr's knee it's not as bad as the original toy... not that we should be comparing $130 toys aimed at adult collectors to kid's toys from the '80s.
