I think the only thing people really like about Mospeada are some of the mechanical designs. The show itself is pretty cookie cutter. Nobody's ever professing their love for The Stig. -
I'm glad some people in the comments mentioned both White Glint and Nineball Seraph cuz those are the real top tier Kawamori game mecha! Nobody seems to remember poor Robbit though.

This is just a quick and dirty check without any cleanup. The parts mate pretty exactly though. edit: Yeah I just worked it a little more and it's almost perfect right out of the bag.

Maybe the VF-X incident is what made Big West so mad they denied Yamato the privilege of a Flashback license! or maybe the VF-X still fell under the Macross TV series license :v

I think one problem is Zero came out at a time when art books weren't a high priority. Most of the artwork in it is available in things like Tenjin's two books and in the Shoji Kawamori design works. Also the liner notes that came with each DVD had a number of interviews inside.
