  1. Nice. But I like the original, folded CARRIE poster better. And some of those Japanese movies. =D Anyone have a movie screenshot of the greenish Regult from the DYRL? To me, the toy looks too green or something...
  2. DARKWIND: Yep. I'm not expecting Yamato to do it with all the bells and whistles, but it would be nice to sorta do something like Toynami's Regult with some leg joints, at 1/60, and with that nice touch of Yamato quality... do that, and I'll gladly pay $80-$100 for it. Maybe even a little more.
  3. And they say Regults won't sell well.... pffft.
  4. I was thinking a screen shot from DYRL. =D And by the way, the other guy, Robotech.com isn't out of stock, they're up for pre-order. Follow the link provided (you can't access it going to the robotech.com site, follow one of the links above)
  5. I'm not a "robotech purist", but I'm still thinking "what's with the ugly green color?"
  6. Like the guy said above, Robotech.com is selling them right now (I think you can pre-order it). Does anybody have a picture of the Green Version from the movie?
  7. BTW, my post above this was a joke. But, hey, proves that anyone would be down for any antics Yamato has to offer. =D hehe Sorry about that.
  8. You have to go to a convenient store located in Japan that has the Yamato sticker outside their window. When inside, ask the cashier for a Yamato Regult ticket (with the purchase of something, of course). Scratch off the front of the ticket and a number will be revealed that you will later use as a password to a website (www.yamato-toys.com/exclusive4uanduonly). Be careful not to scratch the ticket completely off, because you may void it if you scratch too much of the lower bottom. (one ticket, one number, one order...I know, it's a drag) By the way, the website won't be available until it's announced on some Japanese radio station (not sure which one). So listen close! Supplies are limited so make sure you have the radio on 24/7! And once it is available, make sure you place your order right away, because supplies are very limited. For such a low demand, they're still expecting a lot of orders. Good luck! P.S. You mind getting me a ticket, too? I can paypal in advance. I'll paypal 'as a gift' so we can avoid any fees. Edit: This is a joke. lol
  9. Pfft. Exactly. Yamato... We gotta expand. The whole operation. Distribution. New York, Chicago, LA. We gotta set our own mark and enforce it. We gotta think big now.
  10. =D Well said. I have a crush on you, dude. But a few things: - I'm not saying they'll sell as well as an iPhone4, I'm just saying they'll sell well enough to where everyone is happy. Nothing wrong with making a profit AND making people happy. - And, I'm not asking for a lot: I'll take a 1/60 Q-Rau quality-type Regult for about $80. That's all I want. And it being Yamato, I'm sure it'll naturally be better than Toynami's. Heck, I'll take it for $120 or a little more. - And mold/kit/sculpt/material politics aside - just make one for all of who bought the hell out of their 1/60's! Make it out of foam if you have to. I'm filipino and I want what I want. Matter in fact, screw Yamato. I'll take a 1/60 from Toynami as long as it comes with a figure of Tommy Tune, his tight black shirt and hair that you can actually comb. Oh, and throw in a CD by the guy who sings songs on NEW GENERATION.
  11. This whole "regults" won't sell well is complete rubbish. Two reasons: - Toynami. - Robotech Fans (and a couple of guys in Japan who go out for sushi and sake while scattering 1/60 regults all over the place) They seem to be selling well. Toynami is not making 3 other versions to lose more money. I'm not saying sell a Yamato 1/60 version for $25 with a pilot, opening cockpit, and a box of pocky sticks; I'm just saying it could be done, and be just as profitable. MORE profitable than their greedy ways (ie $500 vinyl(?) kit exclusive that is banned from being photographed. Yeah, let's just keep our products from being advertised.) Oh wait, let me guess, Yamato has their reasons for that one, too? With all due respect... Unless anyone here works for Yamato, knows how much staff they have, and has access to their paperwork, YOU have no say. You're not on Yamato's payroll. You're not an expert. Go to sleep. As a consumer, I have say, because I know what I want. Give me a product, Yamato. Fine, be greedy. But be greedy to where everyone's happy. So stop giving me this "Yamato does this because of this blah blah blah" B.S.... save it for your x-acto knife.
  12. Looks like someone took a can of gray spray paint unskillfully waved it around that poor thing. Just like every other pre-weathered Yamato, I'll pass. Especially for what, double, triple the price? Leave weathering to the pros. And if you ain't got the skill, leave it as it will.
  13. What's wrong with a little humor. Do you skip over the "minmay shower" scene when you pop in your Macross DVD? =D
  14. I already have a 1/60 version. =D Close enough.
  15. That's right. The people who agree with everything Yamato decides are kinda like those Metallica fans who think they STILL make good music. I don't know about you guys, but my money doesn't grow on a tree. I don't care if Yamato is the 2nd coming of Lord Jesus Christ. It's ironic - the less popular, the more it cost.
  16. But they will. =D Exactly my point. Thanks for the 'mold' lesson. Really, I had no idea.
  17. So why do they even go out of their way with all the designing, sculpting, etc to make something like the Regult; then minimize the production run, make it a web exclusive, and up the price? There is obviously a demand, which is why they're producing it to begin with, right? Now, what if the 1/48 or 1/60 Valks were $400? I think they'd be on the same boat. But I think the valks worked because they were affordable. They wouldn't be good sellers if they were more expensive. Same goes with the Destroids... for such a static toy (compared to a transformable one), they were way to expensive. And then they wonder why they didn't sell good? I just believe they found a way to grab a few "rich kids" by the balls, then sucker the rest of us die hard guys into buying an "exclusive" - less work (unit-wise?) and more money for them. No offense to anyone in particular btw. Trust me, I wish i was one of those "rich kids". I guess my deal is, they got the molds, so go ahead, turn on the machine, and start pumping these motherf*ckers out. (at 1/2 of the price, that is) Exo convinced me, I'm gonna start ignoring anymoon.com as well. (jk) I guess all this debating/complaining is USLESS is regards to why Yamato sometimes likes to bend us over; but it gives me a hard-on when someone on this forum actually agrees with me.
  18. I think Toynami wins this round (finally). We already have three different versions, with the fourth on the way. I wonder why they wouldn't go ahead and make 1/60 versions... that would be a bold move, in my opinion (they would have Yamato 1/60 collectors' wallets)... double up that price and go for it. I mean, I'm all about scale, but scale didn't seem to be a big deal in the 80s - a decade where Macross Toys were at a high point. Of course, this is targeted for the simple fact that Toynami doesn't have a 1/60 valk.
  19. Nope. You're not the only one. This really expensive exclusives are a way for Yamato to make an easy buck. Plain and simple. Like you said, how can one thing be $200 and the other be a $400 non-transformable piece - and for what? When you look at the big picture, these Yamato products cost more than a Rolex watch.
  20. Plug away, man. Your site is #1 when it comes to stuff like this.
  21. The problem with his collection is everything is "loose" hence like the guy said, a lot of prep work in conditioning. I'm sure the guy has since got some kind of an offer, since the episode aired. I think everyone in Vegas just wants to be on that show. =D
  22. I guess that makes some sense. So riddle me this: if Yamato is so committed to delivering customizable options, where are my optional pilots? Let's not try to get away from the fact that is all about money.
