My Boyfriend is a Pilot (lauren goodnight version)
Southcross replied to treatment's topic in Movies and TV Series
well if you read the post on that forum.. she spent a whole wopping hour from start to finish... not bad ... I agree not "Excelent".. but I think if she had been "better prepared", practiced the song a bit, had better background music.. it would of sounded better. I too got my hopes up, that it was going to be an "English" version. -
Might explain why Max and Millia seperated in the Mac7 story... she was abusive, beat up poor Max

Southcross replied to Godzilla's topic in Movies and TV Series

I did a search for "Macross" then filtered by CD and it didnt come up. -

It makes sense. Though the city they straffed (sp?) seemed quite intact (all the glass windows were intact and no signs of destruction were aparent) well the City (or part there of) that was >strafed<... if it was New Macross?? Supposedly "everyone" was to be at Lake Macross celibrating the "30 years of peace" thats another possibility for no pedestrians. Also everyone was entranced by Sharon Apple... they all could of been inside "eyes glued" to their TVs.

But Pearl Harbor was garbage (..the movie not the actual event). I'd rather say that it's more akin to Saving Private Ryan. Ah.....that feels a lot better. Well. Now that I think about it Pearl Harbor DID have a love triangle. D'oh. hoooyaaa! Saving Private Ryan... the only movie that has ever had me so "Awe"d that for the first 20 minutes I didn't move... I barely blinked through the whole landing scene. There need to be more "realistic" sequences in movies like that.. not the Love story BS like what they did to the movie Pearl Harbor. I think they killed the effect the movie could of had, with Ben Aff'liction as "eye candy" to attract women to see the movie... made a real event into another "Titanic movie cinematic disapointment"... but of course this is all IMO

anyone want to make me a small loan? I'd love to get one...

Fine Scale is an awesome information resource for modeling in general, I have had some rather technical questions answered on their forums by its members. i.e. (one question I asked) What is the length, taper, and the different diameters (at different points) of a WWII battleship's 16" Gun barrel? ... the first response was "which ship?", then the guy proceeded to give me the barrel dimensions to three different WWII era battleships and wanted me to clerify because they were pretty varried depending on the port that built the ship and the forge that made the barrels... I was like OMG

Atlantis reference?,, The making of the movie in later timeline does make a lot of sence as the outcomes were the same as far as the well known facts are concerned. Im surprised in that one aspect that they didnt cover, M&M's baby. since that seemed to be of very important historical significance and like you said with the city under the ocean I agree completely with the "atlantis" reference... buts many milleniums of theories and myths into something tangable for the story's "reality" Now I am not trying to turn this into a Mac7 thread... but it does put together a "plausibility" for the power of music in warfare... in DYRL where Misa finds the lyrics to an ancient song and Minmay uses it as a "weapon"... there is a bit of continuity (in a round about kind of way)

I agree with Valk... foil will give you the most "realistic" gold look. Better than any paint. FYI, from the foil jobs I have seen, I would recomend the item for display only after applying the foil.

hehe I realize that... when this thread gets to 50 pages before you guys nail down the Macross series box... I'm to lazy to page through them all to find out when its time to talk about the Mac+ box

i dont' understand the confrontational nature of this topic... you've posted a ranting and opinionated "review(?)" of dyrl with out really creating a structure for discussion. what are you trying to tell us? i've had a hard day of class today, maybe i'm just loopy. Yeah, yer a little loopy 1st off, i dont think I was ranting, if I was, i apologize, that would be MW like I stated I really liked the movie, but it was hard to follow after seeing the TV series, thats basically it in a nut shell Every post is a personal opinion, unless its informational coming from Graham, Shawn, or someone with some information What would you insert in the post for discussion? just curious? should I make it a poll? I didnt want to create a VS thread, but inadvertantly I might have Anywho, Whats a good DVD to get thats "remastered"? pFunk, you sound like me... you need to update your sig to be like mine

I worked on a "tapered" bore for about three hours... and after ripping my hair out for the effort.. I give up... the bore is gonna be black... and black it is! If you want to try to make the lineart to make a gray bore with black rifling, let me know and I can PM you the dimensions... I'd appreciate the help, but I can't take the frustration.
-
Grayson I already thought of that, but here is the reasoning why black is the primary color... its dark and you can't "see" the bottom. With black I can get away with the bore being only about 3/4 - 1". With light gray I probably would have to make it more like 3-4" so you can't "see" the bottom. If the bore was 3-4" long and only about 1/4" in diameter, it would be an evil evil thing to put together. Otherwise I agree... one last thought, if you wanted the deep bore look and still reverse the colors all you'd have to do is glue the rifling to the inside of the barrel before you roll it. thats a thought, but looking at a paper thin barrel just erks me. Even though I'm sure this model isn't an accurate scale dimensionally, but I like to have a little "feasable" accuracy. Another option would be to make a "cone" shaped bore, kind of an optical illusion... just not sure how to get the effect (I can visualize it, but not sure how to do it "correctly" in Photoshop)

:cry hysterically: I so want one of these kits That is by far the kewlest "simple" model, how often do you see someone showing off their Cat's Eye? Love the paint job and customization, keep up the good work

Woohoo! the new Macross 12! goes from the Interplanetary vessel... comes apart into 300 vf-37s's... then back together into a vessel in firing position! all while housing 1.3billion civilians in a .7km square area... lol
-
Still wrong. Exhaust. lol thanks guys... will have to fix that when I get to work

wait I'm confused??? this administration deciding against spending upteen billion on some piece of war machinery??? WTF! The economy has gone to crap, at the very least they could spend money we don't have on something that looks kewl. 12 billion for a stealth helecopter vs 50 billion for Oil wells... I'd rather have the damn helecopter... but that my Opinion can't wait for election time
