This is the season for shonen series. Started Deadman Wonderland and Ao no Exorcist.

See, to me it did and didn't make sense.

In the basic sense I get it. She creates the alternate reality to deal with what happens to her before she gets lobotomized. That's fine. i get the idea. Within the reality she creates, she dances and takes peoples breath away, and while dancing she imagines a world where she and her friends are superhero soldiers. again, no worries. But it's WITHIN that construct that I think it breaks down.

First off, why spoil the asylum stuff? Have it start with her in the brothel, start putting in weird flashes of 'reality' or whatever, and then keep the ending in place where she is lobotomized (Without a mark on her beautiful face I might add).

Secondly, by making Sweet Pea actually escape in the 'real world' u add problems. So Baby Doll really DID light a fire, stab the guard etc etc; Does that mean the guard really shot Amber and Blondie? If so how did he get away with that? Did Rocket also die saving Sweet Pea from the cook? If so why wasn't THAT mentioned or commented on. The Doctor was all "Oh yeah, she caused problems. stabbed a guard, lit a fire helped someone escape..." Wouldn't "contributed to three deaths" make that list? if they're alive, why didn't they escape as well? And if three inmates were killed, why wasn't the place locked down tighter? We get told baby was only there a week! Does that mean it's kind of half true? She did a version of some of the stuff but not everything?

Thirdly; wise old man bus driver guy....WTF? even aside from the fact he doesnt fit the mental escape scenario since she never meets him, he seemed to be there to give them a mission and then spout a badly worded fortune cookie. And even when some of the lines make sense (which is rare) they're just thrown in with no context!

Despite all that, it was a fun romp. The first three action scenes are great (Though the one on the train is pretty lame) and the girls are all cute. Performances all round were solid, with the main villain chewing scenery quite happily.

It's kind of like if the kid who writes Axe Cop hit puberty and discovered girls, and then they made a movie about it.

Maybe baby doll and the rest never truly existed. She's the avatar of courage and strength that fights and dies for Sweetpea....when in fact all those actions in they asylum were done by Sweetpea herself, with help from her fantasy, baby doll. Sweet pea after all was the one that's always in doubt.

Started watching Crest of the Stars after reading a couple of favourable reviews. The character designs are really lousy but it seems the story has a lot of potential. Any fans here in MW?

Just got mine. Not impressed by the choice of packaging they chose. Its now a jacket that isn't even tight enough to hold the BD cover in place. The 20 page booklet that they advertise is just a cheap booklet inside the BD casing. Laughable attempt. Probably part of the cost cutting measures just before navarre sold off funimation. Wished it had a similar packaging to 1.11.

And thus Star Driver finishes....in one of those "awesome series but ends on a rush and sputter" finale. Annoyed by random unexplained endings in anime.

Cyber formula meets Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Tailenders. A short 30 minute movie about racers racing on a planet that goes through enviromental changes. Full of Gar.

I wanna watch Redline.

Do not watch Fighting Fantasy Girl Rescue Me! Mave-chan. One of the worst things I've ever seen.

I finished. WOw....this show is dark beyond dark. Pretty violent too towards the end.

I think this is those kinda shows that wouldn't make it too big in the box office, but will end up being a cult classic.

Just watched it. Not sure what to make out for the ending.....anyone got have a plot analysis?

Marathoning Shiki. Pretty creepy. Its sorta like Higurashi and takes place in some rural town. An eccentric family moves into town one day, then people start dying seemingly of an epidemic....or is it?

Just caught it few hours ago. I liked it and took it as a brainless action fiesta. Plot was paper thin and just enough to get by. The ending was overly cheesy with "yeah right man". Marines are awsm. HOO RAH!.

I don't expect the movie to be a District 9, but hey...this movie was way better than Skyline. There were parts where I thought i was playing the ps3 game, Vanquish. Pretty neat.

I was watching Madoka recently after reading about it's mind-busting plot. Sadly it looks like the show's broadcast has been canceled.

The time travelling Kyon and Mikuru wake up after their past selves have used Mikuru's device to travel back in time.

Ahhh duhhh......that should be it. Thanks. Hence Yuki's explanation on when is the opportune time to wake them up.

Something just occured to me... hope someone can answer this for me.

In ep1 of Haruhi season 2, Kyon travels back 3 years before and to get back to his original timeline, Nagato freezes time in her room. Kyon and Mikuru is in stasis for 3 years until they arrive at their original timeline.

Question is, where is the Kyon from 3 years ago during this time? Wouldn't there be two Kyons when he wakes up 3 years later? 1 is the time travelling kyon, and the other the original kyon of that timeline. I'm sure this is explained somewhere and I missed something but currently am stumped.

The top left pic in his lecture slides looks like a valkyrie.....why?
