I also agree there should be more battle room scenes. Whole thing felt to short. Like Knight26 even a montage of Ender's brilliant strategies against the various armies would help.
No Locke and Demosthenes.
The MD Device became a beam weapon instead of a missile. Why? Using a buncha drones as shields on the firing ship was reminiscent of the sentinel swarm in the Matrix but too silly IMHO. Should've been like the book where a lone fighter made it through the swarm and planted the missile into the planet. Would've been more exciting i feel.
FTL travel.... i totally forgot about this in the books. The movie should've explained the significance of why children are being trained and how long it took for the fleet to get to the bugger's homeworld.
No mention of the derogatory term, "Bugger".
But overall a pretty good adaptation of the book. I liked it and i'm not sure if its a good thing but I know some twi-hards and hungry gamers swayed to the Ender universe. *shudders*

Just realised the markings are very similar to the VF-171EX Alto custom. Anyway not a fan of the Regult-like missile pod. Doesn't look aerodynamic at all.

Was watching the trailer again this morning, and i think the fight against between Murphy's programming and his humanity is more subtle compared to the previous movies.
Somewhere in the trailer someone says something like "the illusion of free will". I guess this time instead of the 5 OCP directives being constantly shown to Robo that he must adhere to, those are now subtly implanted as part of Murphy's psyche and he feels like he is upholding them willingly, hence why he ends up feeling angry, angsty and stuff because he isn't himself due to the programming. We're going into some existentialism themes here.

Yes. After battle school, the kids start running simulations that they believe are preparing them for the next war. It's been a while since I read the book, but I think it was sometime before the definitive skirmish that Ender and his team figured it out. Of course, Ender was helped along in his understanding by the Hive Queen. These events caused Ender to leave Earth in disgrace and his brother Peter to become Hegemon. Or something like that...
To pull this off cinematically, I think the big reveal would be to the viewers way before it will be to Ender. They will show scenes of the actual battle that cuts with scenes with Ender in the simulator as it happens. There should be scenes of people in the fleet, moving, shooting, and dying, doubtfully but dutifully following the orders relayed to them from a hundred light years away, never knowing they were orders from 3 kids.
They never mentioned that angle in the book since Ender and the reader only knew the whole thing was actually real after the simulation was over, but I felt that for this scene to work in the movie, they will have to do it this way else it would be way boring.

sorry for jumping in the thread mid topic, i have no idea if it has professional subs or not, but i heard jojo's bizarre on blu ray has english subs.
does anyone own jojo's bizarre adventure (2012) on blu ray? i'm thinking of buying it but it's very pricey. anyone buy it? or if any watched the series, opinions, is it worth it?
So over the top, retro, and awesome. Definately worth it!

Now....that was a disappointing ending. Until i read there's going to be 2 more special episodes.....but that won't save this series either IMHO.
And i actually like the ears explanation. LOL.

Sid and Joe have essentially the same backstories, with the exception that Sid's mother came back.
I was entertained by this movie, there is no denying that, but the more I dig into the story the less impressed I am.
Er, Sid's mom got TK blown up. Sarah is his aunt. I think without looking too deep into it, the only relation between Joe and Sid is, they both would've lived very different lives if their childhood wasn't f-ed up by some person or other.
Not sure what's the significance of the similarity in how Old Joe gets woken up by chinese girl vs Sid who gets woken up by Sarah. That soft grab on the foot. Probably to prove they were both at peace at that point?

About the weapons, i'm not sure if i missed something but....
why was everyone in the mob using fsking revolvers when they have an armoury full of automatic weapons that bruce willis dishes out 2 P90s and takes out the whole mob? Did kid blue explained something like gats were sure kills or something? I must've missed something cause a band full of revolver wielding cowboys vs bruce willis with akimbo P90s is just .... silly.

Movie was horrible.....nothing makes sense. Jill's acting was mechanical and odd. Ada was pretty cool, but she lacked the coolness of the actual character.

No, that's not Chico, he's being kept wherever Paz is.
And that prison camp is where Paz is. The US/CIA has them as shown by the flag in the prison camp. The conversation between the 2 people talking about Paz and Chico were Snake and Miller (I presume) after the tape was played. It wasn't Hot Coldman/Volgin or whoever was on the jeeps. The mission starts when Coldman flies off in the helis and Snake comes to the rescue.

Wth is with the XOF? And why is Big Boss back in FOX? From the monologue it sounds like he is still in MSF. I know somewhere along the way he will go back to being the head of FOXHOUND, but I don't get the chronology.

As we wait for the next episode to be released, here's something to tide us over.
Someone decided to mix the OPs for the two series up. Kinda trippy how the visuals kinda still mesh even with the different songs.
Not surprising considering both songs are very similar in terms of melody. They both even have that solo instrumental part.
Btw why isn't there a new episode yet? Are they taking a break or something?

Just saw it yesterday. I kinda like it. Plot twist was paper thin..... but SFX and acting was pretty good. A good remake to the original. Kate was badass but her motivations were lame. Jealousy or something.

Nothing is good lately. I'm only watching Shakugan No Shana Final for closure. Last Exile is quite disappointing as well.
Gonna start Another soon.
Guilty Crown crystal thing....just another Evangelion human instrumentality project-ish plot. Next step in human evolution, human hive mind via crystals which last forever.....blablabla....but most of the story was a convoluted mess to begin with.

Moeru Pirates, or Bodacious Space Pirates, despite its name is a pretty enjoyable series. Its sort of like a lighter version of Starship Operators.
