  1. I watched the 1st episode of IS: Infinite Stratos. Despite the obvious parallels to Strike Pantsu Witches, I seem to have judged it too fast. The amounts of mecha and scifi seems to be well balanced with the more contemporary slice of school of life tropes - complete with tsundere female lead.

Looks promising, despite the harem setting i find it rather enjoyable. It feels like what Macross Frontier oughta have been. School life surrounded by girls with a sci-fi backdrop. :D

  2. Getting back to the story, i wonder how the antique VF-1s even going to compete with the technologically superior VF-19s, even if its stripped down. Looking at the VF-19Active and how its loaded with verniers, not sure how any VF-1 is going to compete.

Even in Macross 7 when Gamlin piloted Miria's antique VF-1J, he commented on how underpowered it was compared to the VF-17 that he pilots.

  3. That's never going to happen with a PT toy. Unless you want to have giant gouges in the leg bays.

PS. Yamato, don't switch over to the gloss finish. If I wanted a paint-scraping DX that doesn't fit in with the rest of my collection, I'd go get one from the bargain bin. Or maybe from a happy meal.

Doable with double jointed wings but that's just me. :p

  4. Greeeeaaaat toy!!! I know comparisons are something hideous to do, but look at the much nicer proportions of the new Yamato VF-19 Fire compared to his 1/100 Bandai Hi-Metal counterpart… What a shame that the new photo isn’t very detailed; there are so many great features on this toy we can’t see…

I dunno....the yammie's torso section looks too short and makes it look stumpy. The Bandai looks more proportionate in that regard.

As for gimmicks, see yammie, you COULD add in the leg missiles if you tried. But you didn't for the YF-19. :(

Lets just hope this iteration of the VF-19 can sweep its wings backwards.
