  1. I wonder if the release date of Feb. 10, 2025 is so Disney+ can be the exclusive source to watch it for a couple of months?
  2. The game is Starbase and Mechross is one of the ship packs, you need to have the gamepass to access (I think, I don't play it I just looked it up on youtube).
  3. A rather familiar looking air craft carrier appears in the latest page of Atomic Robo
  4. I assume the rather piecemeal release to D+ depends, at least in part, on how fast the licensees can translate and subtitle the various series. I have no idea why Canada got it before the US.
  5. Disney+ (Canada) has just recently added Macross FB7, Maceoss 7: the galaxy is calling me, Macross Plus, and macross plus movie edition
  6. Well, as you can see, I don't use an avatar ('cause lazy). My user name is just my initials scrambled and with 4evr added because I wanted to use my initials on my email account and spent a stupid amount of time trying to find an ordering that didn't have 100+ other users. So, on the last one I enter camk4evr thinking that someone would have already chosen it and was mildly surprised that it worked. I've been using it on forums, and as my PlayStation handle, ever since because I just can't be bothered to come up with something new (and, for some stupid reason, it always seems to work).
  7. If it's coming from Funimation, Viz, or Animeigo it's most likely (not gauranteed) to have a dub. Other companies (ie Section 23, Sentai Filmworks) are less likely to have dubs. I think part of the reason, besides cost, is that so many are being licensed for streaming that only the ones they think will have the widest appeal/have the most faith/most popular in will be dubbed (ie My Hero Academia, Is it Wrong to try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon)
  8. I can rattle off numerous anime I'd rather watch dubbed than dubbed because I don't like one or more of the actors. And even a number of live action Japanese movies. Hell, one of my favourite Godzilla movies is just full of crappy acting (it's part of it's charm).
  9. Oddly enough, after reading the article, my thoughts were that the rights to an early part of the Macross franchise were held by a company that engaged in illegal activity. Sounds familiar somehow. Seriously what are the odds.
  10. I just have 1 question: when the &$@$ pineapple saladed hell will Disney start streaming it in Canada? All I can find is 2024 which isn't all that helpful seeing as that is anywhere from now to 11:59 pm Dec 31. Sorry for this. Just had to vent
  11. I'm not going to get it. Doing some quick math it would cost me approx. $250 Canadian (before discounts, shipping, and potential customs fees there may be) and frankly I never liked Macross Plus in the first place. Since I already have it on DVD I'll probably wait until the movie is released and pick it up. Until then I should be able to watch it on Disney+. To be fair, I'd seriously consider it if I didn't already have the dvds
  12. Iirc Stonewell-bellcome merged with another company to become Shinsei. Assuming I'm not thinking of something else.
  13. Whenever people ask me to recommend a Macross series, I too recommend Macross Frontier over SDF Macross for the reasons already mentioned by others. Usually. If it urns out that they have an interest in 80's anime then I'll recommend SDF Macross. However, I also tell people if they don't like Macross Frontier to still try other Macross series because they are different enough they may find a series that they'll like even if they didn't like the music, mechs, characters, or story of one series they may like them from a different Macross Series.
  14. Don't forget that they also made false claims about how much of Macross they had
  15. It's now a little over than $370k. That's significantly better than the Robotech Academy Kickstarter did. I'm highly amused. I'm also happy that I'm getting a UHD copy of this without having to pay extra (who knows, I may even have a UHD tv when it arrives^_^).
