1. Macross II never made it to TV. It was an OAV from the start...It came during a time when lots of shows were done as OAVs.
2. One thing Kawamori likes is there are always different sides to a story and there are more stories to tell. Macross isn't Gundam. We don't get rehashes of stories or marketing like you won't believe. Macross is much smaller and fits into a genre which hasn't flourished as much as it use to. Story-wise, not all of Kawamori's ideas fit into Macross. And so this leads to other projects and some time away from Macross. The best idea of that was Knights in the Sky. This idea had transforming fighters but in the end, the concept didn't fit the story. And so this story became Escaflowne. Kawamori has shown us that he likes to come back to Macross but there are other things he wants to do before it's too late.
3. One of the more greater problems is that there are many internal applications that run only on IE. This is part of the reason why we can't just get rid of IE. Many companies have produced internal web applications that use IE over any other browser. And they've used them for several years already. Just try and get those companies to get rid of IE-only applications. This is of of many major causes for why Mozilla has yet to really penetrated the corporate world. Even if they allow a Mozilla product, there are chances that there is still some internal web application that can only function on IE. Anyways... Work: WinXP/Firefox or Opera, Mac OS X/Safari or Firefox home: WinXP/Firefox or Opera As soon as Apple drops in the Merom-core in their laptop selection, I'll have Safari/Firefox/Opera.
4. For Spiderman 3, (if you've read the Spiderman 3 thread), the chances that we will see all 4 villians equally is in debate. We are more likely to see 2 villians more than the others. Which 2, remains to be seen. For X-men, having lots of villians, does work in a sense. Because you have a good-guy team, you need to counter them with a group of villians. The reason behind X3's cramming is because this is the last movie that these particular actors are signed up for. After X3, all contracts with all actors have to be renegotiated. So they could not use this group anymore so why not go out with a bang. Unfortunately, they threw out a little too much bang in this movie...
5. Breetai's would win only due to sheer volume. 4 km of ship to go through would take a while. Unless Macross makes some good hits to disable something of that size.
6. DVD prices tend to be much higher in Japan than in the US.
7. Because that's what Macross came with. IIRC, PPBs block missiles as well. Missiles are projectiles. So an ODB, being a full-scale PPB, would block those as well. Basara has proven that wrong when he was hit by a swarm of missiles. His VF-19 was covered with PPBs. The generators are located on the arms but their ability at covering a fighter appears to be much greater than just the arm shields. The only Protodevlins who has show the capability to fold objects other than itself is Gepernich, Goram and Zomd. Goram and Zomd work in tandem so we do not have a clear picture of them working individually. Sivil and Gavil do not appear to be able to fold on their own so it appears to be a limitation to all of this.
8. YEY!!! I can say crap again.
9. Flashback 2012 is avaliable via HK DVD. However, it may be a hard find these days.
10. Yeh, Pyro's lighter is tucked underneath his sleeve on his glove. It's hard to see, but it's there.
11. I'm still waiting for them to post a DVD release date....
12. The problem with writting a series of movies is you have to hope that the 1st 2 have to do good in order for the 3rd to happen. And for the 2nd movie to happen, you have to hope the 1st movie does good enough. X-men was a gamble. And it looks like it paid off. But what if it didn't?
13. (Spoilers, Highlight to read) Arad also mentions that the big white spider logo has been reserved for something else. So there is still a chance that we may see still see the proper black suit. I have a feeling that the symbiote is just latched onto the old Spidey suit. When it seperates, we may see the black suit when it attaches itself to that certain individual.
14. Well that's a comforting thought Graham... The book is looking more tempting right now...
15. I'll wait a bit before I grab it from Steam. I haven't touched Steam in almost a year. I'm quite behind on my patches at the moment.
16. 1) Off topic. 2) Nothing to do with Macross.
17. How about some non-glamour shots?
18. Because Q is dead (God rest his soul, for 007 just wasn't 007 without him). 404418 Besides the car...I don't see any need for the gadgets this time around.
19. Took a while for a better quality version to show up: http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/supermanreturnsqt.html This was the trailer attached to some X3 screenings.
20. I like the mold for the beam shield. The look of the mold for F91 looks okay...but I'm more interested in this polycap-less construction.
21. Just say you were buying it for someone in the States and you didn't have time to drop it off where you were staying.
22. They probably won't be renewing licenses for any titles any time soon, if they have any that are expiring...
23. Not when we have Wolverine and Magneto spinoffs being talked about....
24. 4000 yen?. I would have totally taken that gamble. Hell, even if it was damaged, it would be worth it for the spare parts. 404135 4000 yen = about $35-40 US. I agree with Mechmaniac...I would have grabbed it and modded it.
25. Saw it tonight. I was falling asleep during the last sequence. I guess for the average viewer, it was okay. I'm sure a lot was cut out of the movie. I'm still puzzled the jump from Wolvie leaving the mansion to him being in the forest, but I can live with it not to mention a few other jumps. I do believe this was rushed. But that's my overall opinion of the whole franchise. Lots of characters had potential but were under used throughout the whole franchise. I did like what they did with Kitty Pride and Iceman. It was nice to see a good character flow among those 2 (combined with the other movies). Beast was good. Kelsey Grammer was a great casting choice. Now for the gripes....Now consider that I'm looking at this on the whole (all 3 movies). -Cyclops....I'll give James Marsden the benefit of doubt since he was filming Supes at the same time but overall....there's a goldmine of potential with that character. What I saw with tonight left me with a half full cup. Marsden has done a good job with Cyclops, but I wasn't satisfied with what's been done. -Rogue...A good chance to make her shine, but with this movie....I was disappointed in her treatment. It was a nice closure to her character, but I wanted her to use her abilities, not be afraid of them. -Too much Wolverine. This is probably why the movies don't appeal to me. There's more than 1 character. There's a team of them. It was nice to see more Storm compared to the last but there are more characters in this world, and it's a catch-22. You have lots of characters to work with, but at the same time, you can't cram them all in at once. Now for the mutants-of-the-week characters... -Angel....one of the few X-men I like. Wasted.....It would have been nice to have establish him as a former X-man. For the context of the movie, I can understand, but give him a reason to be at the mansion. He just appears there out of nowhere. How does he know he would be safe there? -Callisto. Her "new" ability to detect mutants seems to vary in range...I didn't quite get the feel of that. Give her at least a domino eye (you don't need an eye-patch) or some scars. In the comics, her appearence is not pretty. The movie kinda disappointed me with that. -Juggernaut. He doesn't really have much going for him. I think he's just the strong arm of the faction. Well....they probably could have done without him. -Moria McTaggert...Eye candy and something for Xavier to connect with, but otherwise wasted. She could have been in the room with the rest of them when they were discussing the future of the school. Here's a character who knew Xavier better than most of the X-men...and yet she only shows up in 3 spots, and only saying a few lines in 2 of the 3. -Colossus...That's it? Again, we have the problem of too much in too little. That's my gripe..I mean opinion. I have more, but I'll save that for later. As much as I'm looking forward to Supes in a month....part of me is looking at that movie with cautious optimism after watching X3.
