As I've said, what is Brera may be what remains of her brother. And it may not be much, such that can you even call him Ranka's "brother" anymore? (i.e. I've accepted the truth that you were once Anakin Skywalker...blah blah blah... and the whole Darth Vader bit) We don't know how much, if any, of Ranka's biological is left in Brera. There may be glimpses of it (like him being protective or going out of his way to help her in this ep and in others) but is it enough to say that he is her brother or just a shadow of his former self. And yes, it could be just an artificial memory implanted in him.

Chrome is based off Webkit so it should be noticeably smaller. Being a small web browser is nice and all, but larger ones like Firefox and Opera have more functionality. It will be nice to see it get to that point. It's a good start for a beta.

Story is another issue. But... From a marketing stand, M0 suffered because it's an OVA series. Inconsistent release times, less exposure compared to a TV series (in fact, there was no TV series on at the time to help it along). Macross Plus got marketing help from M7 since it aired right around the time M+ was released (i.e. OMG! More Macross to spend money on!). M0 was sitting on it's own when it came out. No re-runs on TV, no big video game. Mass marketing helps.

No. The individual working on MF for Shinsen was unavailable for a period of time so they put the series on hiatus. I've seen Menclave's work on Gundam 00 and they did a really good job. Only problem is they are really slow (and they know it and make fun of it). I would consider them on the same level as Shinsen and I probably would have downloaded those if Shinsen didn't come back to it.

Part of the reason in that you need to adjust the subs for GG is that GG normally time their subs against a non-MBS raw (CBC or TBS raw). The timings are a bit different on a different airing so you have to adjust it. Adjusting the sub script for a different raw probably ain't your thing. Downloading the MKV, only to spend hours re-encoding it to a more suitable size and format probably isn't going to cut it for you even though that's probably your best solution. David's suggestion for using Media Player Classic is probably the best, or wait for Lunar. Personally, I hate MKVs. I still prefer AVIs/MP4s (i.e. hard subs) myself, but ever since I switched to watching MKVs with MPC, I have not had any major problems or issues. Edit: Try some of the tricks at Animesuki's Playback Forum. There are a few threads about MKV playback lagging and they do offer some alternatives on codecs.

Well, laptops are okay, but it would have to be a work-horse laptop. I know people who use a workhorse laptop for photos, movies, and animations. But it would either a Macbook Pro or a Dell XPS or equivalent system. So a laptop could work for OmegaD3k. If you want to go laptop or plan on being mobile, I would suggest the Macbook Pro 17" or the Dell XPS 1730. If you plan on staying stationary, then a desktop would be cheaper and more suitable to which others have already suggested parts for.

The cannon on the starboard side of that VF-171 is probably a heavy quantum reaction cannon (like the VF-27's, except older). That gun is all they have left to punch through Vajra armor anyways. This will probably be the last time we'll see it in use since they'll probably adapt to it. I wonder if mounting that thing takes up the slot for ye-olde VF-17 super parts (which is why it's not mounted).

This thread is a bit more suited for 2nd season hopes. But right now, it really depends on Kawamori. It really depends if Kawamori wants to do a second season and he could close the book on this chapter of Macross or he could leave it open to come back to later (or a combination of the 2). Bandai could ask him for another series if disc sales hold up. Keep in mind a few things. Gundam 00 was always slated to be a 50-some episode series. They just split the series into 2 parts. Code Geass or Ghost in the Shell:SAC were show originally slated for 1 season, but received a second after success. This is why those shows had "R2" or "2nd Gig" added to the titles.
