Cause everybody loves the bridge bunnies! Tee hee, should have gotten to pillage the store, and carry the maidens off over yer shoulder, kicking and screaming.

LOL, you have to admit the irony of the location of such a post; on a forum dedicated to cartoons, robots, models & toys, etc...

Awwwww---she's adorable! Cherish these times, for there will come a day when you will feel like you only blinked, and she will be 9... ...then, next thing you know--you will have to start thinking about all those little insignificant (to her) monumental moments like: the first day she asks for the keys to the car; the day that boys start calling; her first prom (and your first "shotgun speech" you'll give to her date before they leave)

Dressing up for Halloween can be a wonderful thing, under the proper circumstances (damn, she's cute) ...and then again; it can go horribly, horribly wrong.

Initial impression from trailers is a big *meh* From what I've seen of the aliens, some of them look to me like "organic" copies of the octopus-robot-thingies from The Matrix movies... ...think I'll wait for cable. And just like with the robots from the Matrix and a lot of other movies that rely solely on CGI for the monsters/aliens/etc, I just have a hard time suspending disbelief when watching them interact with the characters. Something about the darty-flitting movements that effects creators seem to favor using when rendering them on screen, particularly the big stuff that's supposed to be impressive or scary. I just don't expect or believe such large objects to move--or more importantly--change direction so quickly and abruptly. Doesn't lend any sense of mass. Like with the "pool" trailer; a creature that big is supposed to be moving that fast? and while in Peckinpah-esque slow-mo take? My a$$.

Methinks the "LPE 455" badge will be a play on claimed HP figures(?), as I think that kind of displacement from a small block is highly unlikely, no matter how much you increase cyl bore and stroke. (but hey, GM got 427c.i. out of the basic block for the Vette, so who knows?). As to aesthetics, it will indeed be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of car. They're definitely catering to a niche market. Just remember, the Porsche 911 has remained basically unchanged (in layout) for over 40 years. ed: is it supercharged? don't see any drive belts, but--forgive my ignorance--kinda hard to tell, with all that plastic crap all over the engine bay. I hate that sh*t... ed-ed: meh, never mind--2nd look at the pic shows it's obviously not a huffer. *doh* -
I'm not sure how far the technology has come over the past years; buuuuuuuut: if the side-effects are still basically the same as what they used to warn us against when I was younger, i.e. violent mood swings, emotional instability, shrunken testicles, etc.... then I'd hardly call that superhuman. The whole shrinking-balls thing would be more than enough to discourage me from trying that sh*t. ed: while I think Hugo Weaving is good at playing bad guys, I can't help but wonder: couldn't they have found a good German actor to play Red Skull (Johann Shmidt)?

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time

Oh, now see; you went and used logic, and just plain common sense--which is apparently MISTAKE #1, when it comes to trying to watch ANYTHING by these guys. It seems that expecting anything like a coherent plot, or consistent story/character details is just setting the bar way too high for Asylum. I nearly LOL'd when I read the description for 100 Million BC. ed: honest to God, I thought Snakes on A Train, the followup to Samuel L's airborne stinkfest, was just another internet myth. But Dear Lord! It really does exist! -

Wow, I had NO idea of the DEPTHS that these guys would sink to in making truly crappy films. It's like they're trying to dethrone Troma Films or something as the absolute (best) worst movie makers of all time. As if this description of one of their latest toilet-bowl-floaters isn't hint enough: "No, we didn't overdose on ether and photoshop together the fever-nightmares: That is the real poster for Asylum film's rip-off of the Robert Downey, Jr. movie. Apparently, Holmes' greatest accomplishment wasn't solving some kind of pussy mystery with stupid gay logic; it was that time he punched an Octopus in the tits, mounted a T-rex, and ghost-rode that poo into a farting dragon. Don't believe us? Here's the trailer:" Read more: http://www.cracked.com/funny-6250-asylum-films/#ixzz13wnxkObo Honestly, I wouldn't mind working for these guys. That'd be like a f'ing irreverent badge of pride or something. Could bust up in practically any Hollywood bar scene, throw your leg up all Captain Morgan style, and proceed to brazenly hit on pretty women. "...yeah that's right baby. I make movies. I work for Asylum Pictures." Okay, I keed! I keed! -

Indeed. The numbers are downright shocking, for such a large car. It looks positively--uncomposed for lack of a better word--performing such maneuvers. LOL, that's a helluva lot of dough to fork over for what looks like a theme-park ride! -

I always thought that dude was creepy. I vividly remember their album covers, from parusing the aisles in the record stores as a kid; pretty much whenever I think of stuff like Heavy Metal (the animated movie), everything '80s... They're also the first thing that spring to mind whenever I think of angry moms back in the day, railing and protesting against rock and heavy metal as "devil music," and "degenerating the youth." LOL, there's SOOOO much more stuff out there besides rock-and-roll to worry about rotting kids' minds nowadays...

Hmm, interesting UCA design in the rear. But if the quality of those welds isn't up to snuff, well... LOL! -
Okay, I realize mine doesn't really qualify; technically, it's not in the house. But I told the wife [then-girlfriend] before: don't make me choose between you and the car...

So, Lou Ferrigno could conceivably don the green paint again, eh? Okay, I keed! I keed! At 59-60ish, that's not likely. But recent pics of him at comic conventions show him to still be in pretty dog-gone good shape. Wow--so he would have only been like, 20 or 21? when he first began winning Mr. Universe titles.

Top Gun: Maverick (Top Gun 2 is comin)
reddsun1 replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey wait--don't count me among the haters. I like Top Gun. Back in the day, that, and The Final Countdown were the shiz-nit for me. Made me dream of being a fighter pilot when I grew up. Also a big part of why I fell in love with the VF-1s--particularly the "Skull 001" scheme--when I was exposed to Robotech/Macross later on. Yeah. Back then: getting a real MiG for a movie production? Fuhgedabadit. But nowadays? Might not be so impossible to get one MiG 29, or one Su-27 from a former Soviet-bloc nation looking for more capitalist ways to generate taxes/revenue? But at a pretty penny, to be sure? LOL, it'd just mean NO budget left for paying any big-name actors, and they'd probably have to do a lot of repainting serial no's and such to try to make ONE plane look like multiples. -

Oh, I thought you meant the lawsuit involving the extra injured in September (just skimmed an article on that). I remember seeing scenes from the first movie (still haven't bothered to waste any time with the 2nd), and watching the flipping/somersaulting cars thing and thinking: they're gonna f'ing get a stuntman or somebody killed with that over-the-top bullsh*t... -

Three things: 1. I saw brake lock-up on that Camaro. I thought they had 4-wheel ABS? 2. LOL, that SUV looked as though the officer could have kept on going to his call... 3. You mean with all that big-shot Hollywood budget, Michael Bay only thought to get one yellow Camaro? -

I've seen some of the aerial sequences from Hell's Angels--puts Flyboys to effing shame. The Blue Max is pretty awesome, too. Love that movie. Much more dark/pessimistic compared to Top Gun, though. But hey, that's life, eh? I've always liked the dogfight from Tora! Tora! Tora! At least not all of it was lightning-fast-cut tight-shots that try to give an unrealistically fast-paced feel to the action. After all, real dogfights took up square miles of space; not everybody within 50-feet of ea other (or the confines of what can be seen in a static TV screen shot), like modern movies seem to imply. Is it really so hard to get good aerial/cockpit footage for movies, using real airplanes? I think not: -
