  1. more 1/100 scale toys....? I am quite a huge nut for that scale...mostly because of my wallet/display space though. but staying on topic, the unique designs of the hi metal could be intergrated to the V2 for a better toy, shoulders, hips, maybe also the ankle movement? a question would be how to make that joint stiff on such a huge toy though.
  2. I mean, if you have multiple valks you would want to display all 3 modes at the same time. Don't think anyone would display a lonely gerwalk unless its like a famous scene. I would display a battroid if it is extremely posable. Otherwise fighter mode is the winner!

    Is this for real?

Good luck on the buy, don't put too much hope in though...
  4. Watch the tamashii website every day for reissues... That should be the easiest way.
  5. I would love to see the funky headed version for once..
  6. its an okay toy...best for displaying in dynamic poses(Only if you have the patience..I personally do, yet that isn't true for all) the scale is as the pic above, and is actually one of the most on scale 1/100 toys out there. I personally do have some photos, but I think it really doesnt do it justice..(Provided below) These were taken from a phone..so details arent great, just showing off the poses(which are about 70% of what this toy is capable of. I could easily do better now with better camera&posing skills.) here are a list of flaws: -wings fall off...cant really be fixed. -loose joints, can be fixed, but mainly the hips are loose and elbows. others work well, but this makes it very hard to pose other than kneels(possible, but takes time) -(NOT a flaw, but a common issue) people used to say that they can't fold the backpack down..you just have to either push it down harder or adjust the tail fins, which are on simple pegs. - for the VF-1A only, the head has to be removed for transformation. -NO SUPER PACKS and MISSLES, one of the greatest flaws of any VF-1 toy..if you care for fighter mode, you probably shouldnt get this thing.(NO LANDING GEAR either.) . . yet still, just for the amount of poses you can do with this thing, it is a great purchase. if you want playability, I say go for Toynami 1/100 and you will never regret..getting the right waves of course.(wave2&4 are safe bets) The revoltech was on sale before on HLJ..so 20 bucks and up is a must. for the same price and some luck, you could get a toynami 1/100. Thats all the info i could give. Make a wise decision Another great review, although in japanese. from UNOYO. http://d.hatena.ne.jp/UNOYO/20100114/p1

    VF-1 toy advice...

some say the transformable revoltech, i disagree.. that thing is fairly decent for display, but for an 8 year old boy to play with, it contains too many little parts that need to be swapped and is very tricky. I sometimes even find myself losing the HEAD of the figure...good thing I found it.. I vote for toynami 1/100. otherwise, you could build a transformable 1/100 super valk with him!!! enjoy the modeling hobby with him!(although it is not an easy kit...)
  8. wow. An interesting way to use the flightpose.. although I would imagine there is a loss of freedom while using the stand. I still love the claw type stands most smaller scale robots work with. They provide freedom of angles in battroid modes. The pose look cool with the flightpose, but they probably need some time to set up....love the idea tho.
  9. wait....how do they work in batty mode?!
  10. heck, than this could be a great product, potentially. Definitely supported!
  11. interesting indeed. love the concept, but legos seem to have loose joints other than the ball joints used on bionicles. size looks nice and palm sized, but no fighter mode is mad yet. The parts don't seem to form the figter either. Wonder how that will work. nonetheless, I think the concept is great, and to have a cheaper alternitive to a GBP was always my wish
  12. wait..what? Damn was I blinded. I was wondering how could a 1/48 be that cheap... they probably saw that people were not willing to pay that much for weathering? I personally would not, since it is a simple process. Although maybe not as good, but not worth the price of almost an additional hundred..
  13. was the original GBP for 1/48th a web exclusive? if yes, than this was probably just for show. the signs don't say anything about the armor being weathered. Adding to that, the photo on the back shows an unpainted GBP. If they were to promote a weathered release, they wouldve probably had a weathered photo on the promo poster.
  14. lol. look at that price.. 1/60 1A is like less than ten bucks more compared to the Hi Metal VF-19K..(combined shipping)
  15. I agree with that as well.. maybe us in the lower end section are used to low end yet quality products from other franchises(TF's, Gundams) the lower end market of macross just isn't great enough...most people like macross because it is their childhood,so people or more willing to pay big bucks. Although Frontier tried to attract new fans, the prices of the high end products kept some of the younger fans away... BTW, I'm offtopic...
  16. not neccessarily, there are people who like partsforming...to a certain extent(like me) this to me is like a perfect valk(that is yet to be owned)
  17. yeah...I agree..I guess i was just comparing them to the more popular and longer living toy lines from bandai... A quick question though, are the ones found on shelves typically the 19's? or the VF-1's? since there is a chance of me being at japan in the near future, and I really want a 1J..
  18. really? well, that is true for japan locally..but outside of japan, these are pretty hard to come by for us in the US(at a good price) I have never seen any VF Hi Metal toy while i was back in Taiwan last summer, but that might just because of copyright/lack of distributors.
  19. for a gundam fan, I would say this is the probably the best valk available out there. The scale fits, and it also saves shelfspace. It is probably the most inexpensive valk out there that is fun to play with..too bad they were pretty low on production and disappeared quickly.
  20. I actually really want a 1/100 sized...considering my shelf size...and my budget now... Although if there was ever a V2 1J kit..that would be kinda cool..
  21. oh ho ho... now even I kinda want a V2 valk... despite the price..which is completely student unfriendly......
  22. yeah, the cannon fodder scheme really looks a hell lot better. But we need people to buy the Alto Ver. in order for them to make one!!!!
  23. damn...another expensive valk. or were there ever cheap ones? although I think the 17 is less complicated in transformation?
  24. it seems like that line has been gone for a long time...since the focker strike 1S... Really hope they do a new 1J for the origin color with a new head..
  25. thanks for the info.. That makes much more sense to me now... Never noticed that!
