1. yea.. if yer gonna do a cammo valk the tones are the most important part... I think they woulda sold more valks just by doing a similar LV1 version...
2. Zebra paint scheme. 391066 Woah, don't give yamato any crazy ideas~!
3. hmm, perhaps they should slip a sheet or 2 of advertisment in all their future and reissue Yamato products like their current hot seller 1/48. Stuff like posisble future release of VF-0D, SV-52, etc,, along with pictures or all current releases. 387451 Ya mean like a catalogue of sorts? I used to love those that came with the old American toys like MASK and Starcom. Makes you gawk at the pictures of stuff your parents will never buy for you. Burn the images in your mind and play with them in your mind. Early mental masturbation.....*cough* 387460 Yeah,, pretty much a 1 page Catalogue. I only got 2 offical Transformer G1 products back when I was small. So I too gawk at the picture of stuff that my parents will never buy for me. The Catalogue from Mask was pretty cool, too bad I can only afford 1. It was the simi F1 race car that can fly. Yes,, a Catalogue can do wonders. 387467 A good idea but yamato makes rarely makes groups of valks together at once which a catalogue would need to be populated. The last time I remember they made more than two totally different valks at the same time was the mac plus series.... Even with the 1/48 series repaints, it was one or two after another.
4. Since they've already made the vf-0S I think it's much easier for people now to vote for the vf-0d~ Regardless, I think it's a must make. Reason number one (main character's valk) and it's screen time proportionately to the whole series, definitely shouldn't be overlooked along with it's popularity... However, people who think passing the vf-0s by for the D I think, should reconsider... The creation of the vf-0D depends on the vf-0s doing well. DO YOUR PART!
5. I agree. Given that yamato cuts costs in other areas like paint, less metallic parts and the increase in efficiency with experience and computer assisted design, I'm not totally convinced that the extra tooling should pose such a HUGE problem as some people tend to believe it to be. Yamato had a field day with the 1/48 & 1/60 vf-1's and the countless repaints the design yielded... so I think it's more in the question of how much profit yamato wants out per design. Obviously if they're looking at the profit they gained from the vf-1 line, NOTHING will come as close... It would behoove them to lower that bar just a tad if it's indeed set that high.

Custom 1/48 Gbp

ditto. It'd be awesome if you could school yamato how to design good low vis schemes.
7. I'm happy with it already and I dont even have it yet. thanks for the scan graham.
8. Nah... what does the similarity of the molds of the vf-0 and vf-1 have to do with anything? They're two different birds regardless of the similar transformation scheme. They have to make new molds for anything new... You might have a point if you mentioned the engineering involved in making a good looking valk in all three modes of the yf-19. But even still, the yf-19 has been made, and made successfully several times by different makers... They have sources of reference so they shouldn't have too much problems developing one. And hey.... they made the Konig, which I think posed a greater challange to make for yamato than a large scale yf-19 ever will. The only other major question is if it'll sell... which... if you ask me... or anyone here for that matter, it will... It's just a matter of time. You're asking the whole toy section to be pinned, pretty much. Maybe we should also pin all comments of members who point fingers to others of bitching and whining. Look, the fact of the matter is, people continue to talk about these subjects because it's just what's on a lot of people's minds.... What's wrong with that? It's not like we have much else to talk about anyway~
9. So let me get this straight..... understanding business, like you, business master protoplast, is a requirement of maturity... AND.... the rich... never... complain about prices... just the poor... You know until this, I didn't disagree technically with what you were saying... and even applauded that you've stayed away from offending and being insensitive to people who may be less fortunate what ever state in their walk in life... but what you've just said there has got to be most ignorant and laughably dismissable comment I've heard in a while. So in all your success as a businessman and a member of the mature elite, what brings you to the "kiddie" toy section? To spread the gospel of worldwide business to the young and poor naive souls? How sweet.
10. I concur. Just like the highly detailed inner frame on PG Gundams. Not meant to see the light of day, unless you don't affix the armour. 379464 ooo... the highly detailed innards of the PG gundams are definitely cool though.. As far as the rotating seat goes, meh.... for the same reasons stated above...
11. If you "see why people are complaining" then you'd understand why people ask why the prices so high. Though, I dunno why you're saying yamato shouldn't lower standards or price. No one ever asked for that... nor is that the only way prices for products are lowered... increased efficiency for one (as low vis lurker stated) is an example of other ways. Most of the complaints and questions are posed because people honestly want to know... is it worth the money? I, like you, would like to think that it's just a matter of "buy" or "oh well, don't buy"... but it's never that black and white. but good for you for being so surgical with your decisions. Really. You must have flawless credit. Here you really seem to know what it takes for some people here to purchase one... yet, why is it that you fail to comprehend that after such effort, people here could and would express being a little worn from that tiring process. Again... hey, maybe youre just the type that happily skips along to work when gas prices reach record highs because the president cares more about the "business side of things". I apologize for the sarcasm but really, to some people who really sacrifice a larger portion of their money for this stuff, you're simplistic logic really sounds just as sarcastic. heh heh, you sound like Tony Robbins.
12. Although I agree with protoplast's argument technically, I think it's just wrong to say something in the realm of what lord kung fu is saying... "Dont like the price, dont buy it, simple... shut up and dont bitch and moan." As much as people have the choice and right to just avoid buying valks, they have every right to express the pinch they feel in their wallets. Ferarri's, hdtv's, global economy.... all that aside, people are dropping $150 on average for one of these things. As grown men, I think it's only natural for us to slip into fiscal consciousness once in while and realize "DAYYAMM, I paid $150 for a bloody transforming toy?!" Everyone in here is macross fan but everyone here is NOT in the same financial state... hence, the variety of reactions regarding price... Hell, even within the common trait as fans there are varied levels of devotion.... Given that, what is the fan with the greatest love of macross (among us) with least amount of money going to do? Just say "Nah, I'll just simply pass"? Things aren't always just easy like that... infact it's the always-present dilemma between want vs having the means to acquire it. Don't tell me you've NEVER sighed because you couldn't get what you want, or you did but it cost you an arm and a leg.... it hurts...
13. Yamato and the good folks in MW who took pictures, pretty much covered all angles of the vf-0s already. I hope we get pics of the vf-0a soon, and possibly the vf-0d. that'll get people salivating some more... When and if they bring out pictures of the yf-19..... I think I'll have a seizure.

1/48 Gbp

yep. it looks much better without the red and lime green.
15. Nani?!

1/48 Gbp

I do. I'm pretty sure yamato will make these limited editions. they painted them which, by yamato standards is "like, WOah dude, it's painted~" I'm not sure if the limited edition tag will necessarily bring the demand up though... it very well can... but the valk also has to be desirable in itself. Judging by the actual pics taken at wonderfest of both the LV.2 and stealth, it doesn't come half as close as the "cool factor" of the original LV. Its a shame though really.... the LV2 if executed 200% better would have been awesome piece. Given Yamato almost never makes changes at this point in production (when preorders go up with pics) and judging by those wonderfest pics, the chances of change is discouraging.... thanks for the pointer, I guess I should check the 20th disk out. With the GBP 2, if they wanted to do the military ground forces "thang" they should've taken it further. Just changing a couple of the colors to olive & lime green just feels like they didn't try... If you're going to go with an idea do it right... Make it look like a mean muther f*cker that'll stomp through trees and run you over. Right now, the color scheme reminds me of the salad I'm eating right now.
16. Depends on your preferences in macross mecha. If you're a strict devotee of the original macross series/dyrl, then go with the vf-0S roy or hikaru. If you dont really care for classics and just want HOTNESS, wait for the VF-0S coming out this april.... I agree with exo though... one valk?? noway~ Getouttahereeee~

1/48 Gbp

yep, exactly.... the 1/48 gbp in gravity would be a statue. Although I understand the business side of things, these remakes just SCREAM "MILK IT, BABY!!" If they're going to repaint stuff, I think they should either: 1) Hire one of MW's master custom painters. 2) stick to and be faithful to the original real world examples without putting their own little spin on it (judging by what they're coming up with so far, they dont seem to be too talented in the painting/color dept.) 3) Just stick to the anime and repaint the schemes that have yet to be painted... ie; the green q-rau, tv colors, etc.... Thumbs up for the effort though~

1/48 Gbp

hmmm... maybe if... hmmm............ meh.... I dunno..... whatever's dark blue is olive green, and whatever's white is now neon green (except the hands)... Although I think it's great that yamato is making more stuff, the remakes just look like I dunno dare I say,... recolored bootleg remakes.
19. regardless of what they put for box art, I just wish they can strink the box sizes... I wish the box design evolved as the valk design has...
20. Thanks for the scans Graham. wow nice. Man, you know a toy is just around the corner for release when they start releasing close up pics of the features. Can't wait.
21. Thanks for the pics saverobotech and graham. It's great to see that they're releasing new stuff. (well.... old stuff with different paint jobs ) I guess they're planning to market these as limited editions to encourage people to buy these... I dunno... I'd like to see the stealth in battroid, and if that looks aiight, then I'll get one... The VF-0S is looking P.I.M.P. Every mode, angle, and mm of this thing deserves a thumbs up. I hope the sales of this valk seriously opens doors to yamato making more new generation valks. I like the gloss finish on the 0S, although I dont think it's painted as shin mentioned several posts back... it suits the 0S very well and I'd suppose if they were to make a yf-19 in the future, they'd use something similar.
22. I'm pretty anal-retentive about this stuff, so I'll let people make their own conclusion. They could have made the legs skinnier to reduce the stubby fighter profile, but then the shoulders would be hanging below the legs and people would be screaming "Hey, Yamato didn't get rid of that hanging-scrotum-sack-lookin'- shoulder-in-fighter-mode problem!" I still think overall they did a great job. 370848 Looks pretty damn close... in any case.... it looks great in all three modes. that in itself suffices for me.
23. OMFG!! ok I just screamed in a high pitch girly voice for 5 mins because of these pics. OMFG!!
24. thanks for the recon saverobotech. This is by far the best valk yamato has produced. I'm honestly not surprised by the increase in price, could be a number of reasons but as long as the QC issues are at a minimal... it's a price I'm willing to pay. I dont want to get too far here, but damn.... can you guys imagine the quality of a 1/60 yf-19 would be like now with all the experience yamato has?
25. I'm down, but it depends on how much they are.
