  1. So i've identified that I do indeed have one of the VF-1J's that can explode. The canopy is rainbow coloured as well. I don't really know what to do at this point. Should I just box it up and get rid of it as fast as possible, or are replacement parts available via Macrossworld? I'm guessing that there aren't any? Damn, I hate the feeling of having pissed away $100+ dollars -edit- aaaaand the shoulder joints are starting to crack. nuts
  2. Hah. Here I was, just having gotten my first 1/60 VF-1J last night, coming to MW to post about how awesome it is, when I run across this thread and nearly have a fit. I'm having flashbacks to when I purchased my old VF-11B, 1/48 VF-1S and 1/60 VF-0A so, so many years ago. Nice to know that Yamato is consistent in its terrible quality control.
  3. All Toynami jokes aside, it DOES have a mighty giant ass in Gerwalk mode. I'm not sure if i'm ready for that jelly.
  4. The first white or grey VF-19 we get i'm pre-ordering instantly.
  5. My only complaint about it is that the rear shield "skirt" pops off waaaay too easily. Apart from that it's a pretty good figure! My ultimate dream would be to have a Tekkaman series of figures released in Bandai's Robot Damashii line, but, well, this is better than nothing!@
  6. I think the movie would have been much better and made so much more sense if Marcus had been sent from the future, and Skynet was somehow able to reverse engineer him to create the T-800. Sort of like a machine version of Kyle Reese. As it is, his existence in the movie completely negates the point of the Arnold model T-800 and is almost utterly nonsensical.
  7. Fair enough, but i'm still amazed that they were taken by surprise that their factories couldn't produce this figure properly. I'm also amazed that factories 20 years ago were able to create Fortress Maximus, a 2 foot tall robot that transformed into a space station, and sell it for roughly $1900 less (let's say $1600 for the sake of inflation today). I'm still skeptical, but whatever, let's see what else they come up with.
  8. Jesus, are they kidding? It's like the Fast and the Furious got a hold of the Batmobile.
  9. Would Marcus's Blue Alpha Fighter connect to this Beta? I also wonder if the colour scheme's would complement each other, it looks like they might. Anyone know? Agh, I sold off my original Scott Bernard, and am now regretting it. They also have a fully plastic MPC Voltron figure going for 45 dollars. I can't believe these prices.
  10. Aw man. That's disappointing news.
  11. Ouch. Wasn't expecting them to be that much. But, without them I have a worthless pile of plastic, so i'll likely cave and spend the cash.
  12. I'm hopeful that after 6 months of collecting dust, my poor VF-0 will be able to fly once more! (around my room, in my hand, with the wooshing noises).
  13. At any rate then, can you put me down for a set?
  14. Well, from what I understand, you can only order these parts from Yamato if you're a licensed dealer of their products, correct? Given that no dealer from US/Can has indicated that they would order these parts, it's not a question of whether ordering from you is cheaper, but that there's no other way for me to get them! lol. I could be mistaken, but that's the situation as I understand it. If i'm wrong, please correct me.
  15. Would you be willing to ship to Canada if no one steps up?

But the big question is if we can get those parts over here in North America.
  17. Could you recast the upper arms of the VF-0 while you're at it? Pretty pleeease?

Adding to the list of woes is that, while transforming my poor VF-0A for the first time since *December* when I bought it (still haven't even decalled the damn thing, i'm waiting for the new shoulder pieces, either Yamato's or the recasts), I spied what looked like a hairline crack running through the grey ridged plastic right above the right-kneecap - the part that extends out from the upper leg when in gerwalk mode. No clue how the hell that happened, as i've been treating this thing with kid gloves. Maybe mine is just defective, or perhaps it's something else. Although it looks pretty, i'm about ready to give up on the VF-0 series.

My poor valk is still sitting forlornly on my desk, looking at me with big puppy dog eyes begging me to play with it, to no avail.

Another hopeful Bump! I don't want to rely on the Yamato parts (and the bizarre tap dance that will have to be done to get them) if I don't have to, so if those recasted parts are available i'd love to grab them.

Bump - Any new updates on the replacement parts? My poor valk is sitting on my desk, all depressed!
  22. Yeah, i noticed that on my clips now too. Between this and the shoulders, i'm about ready to write off the VF-0A and Yamato toys in general. Not going to make the mistake of buying more of their stuff, that's for sure.
