  1. I think the event report for the Shibuya Gengaten (Macross Keyframe Exhibition) is archived somewhere... That was in 2012 or something. That was amazing not just because of the stuff displayed, but because I talked to so many fans there that brought a bunch of their own settings materials, etc., that had never seen the light of day before. It was really a grassroots event. Plus so many people came up to talk to me, a guy who worked on DYRL back in the 80s (now at Kadokawa) recognized me from somewhere, that may also have been the first time we met Antibiotictab, he came up to chat with us, a student of mine came up and wondered what the hell all the fuss was about because this "Macross" thing was being held in the middle of a really trendy fashion store (she is now a model, by the way!!)... Really, really, good times. Oh and we met Mikimoto. You can't recreate all that without a deep camaraderie.
  2. Jefuemon as I was typing that, I was shedding a lone tear of solidarity just for you...!! Seriously, I was thinking, damn, Jefuemon got the short end up north there...
  3. I just learned (sorry if it is old news) that on April 3rd, the first episode of Macross Delta will be screened OUTSIDE as a street event in the three main cities in Japan!! I hope the SpeakerPODcast gathers to gauge the mood!! Other members in the respective areas should also try to make it out, it may just be a real Carnival atmosphere! Tochiro, Save, if you guys are reading this why don't you all network with the Japanese Macross fans so we can make it a mini street party? Anyway, here are the details: TOKYO: Go to Shinjuku: "Altavision" screen (Studio Alta) --> You know, the huge screen from Megazone 23!! NAGOYA: Go to Sakae: "Tokai Intervision" screen OSAKA: Go to Namba: "Tombori Station South & North" screens in Dotombori (boy, that takes me back!! ... Because, the screens are.. ok, whatever. This is gonna be awesome!!
  4. I'm putting this here for relative relevance.... 5. Let me ask you this. You would be upset if, after all that he has done, he was suspended, correct? I hope you see what I'm getting at. And I have to be perfectly clear, let there be no confusion on this matter: I like Graham, we've met in Tokyo several times and hung out. He's a fellow Brit and we share the same ironic humour. I think I'm allowed to disagree with some things, precisely because I do consider him a friend, though. EDIT -- Further clarification, so no misunderstandings arise: This is not so much about Graham as it is about the fact that nobody can post anything to do with the show because the only one who can is temporarily banned, even if they did have time to write it all out. I am grateful they even bothered to record it. I can't write anything because I actually haven't listened to it properly yet.
  6. I wouldn't say it is "normal", but they sometimes do blog posts about improvements and changes. They did a really long one for the VF-19Kai reissue. I don't remember any more specifically, but I know there are more.
  7. I haven't seen the show, but it sounds like more than a coincidence!
  8. Well, what the mods did with Frontier was that they set up one locked thread dedicated to each single episode, and unlocked it once it aired. Spoiler tags were mandatory for the first 24 or 48 hours. I think they'll just do that again. Azrael knows what he's doing on that front, so we'll just wait for his move.
  9. I would do it, but I didn't watch the episode, so I can't. Tochiro would do it, but he got kicked out of this place, so he can't. I'm afraid you just have to listen despite not having time/not liking it (which is it, both?) or waiting until the broadcast. Pick your poison, dude. EDIT -- Wait, wait... Hang on a second, there... "TRANSCRIPT"?? What? No, no, no, sir. If you don't have time to listen, fine, but now we're expected to have the time to write down everything for you? I know Einstein said time is relative but this is ridiculous, no?
  10. Episode 2 has been screened and here is the sweet spoiler juice nectar, you have been warned (unlike some people ) http://www.macrossworld.com/speakerpodcast-ep-40-macross%CE%94-ep-2-spoilercast/
  11. DELTA ep. 2 SPOILERS: http://www.macrossworld.com/speakerpodcast-ep-40-macross%CE%94-ep-2-spoilercast/
  12. BOOM, dropping the Mike in Tokyo! DELTA EPISODE 2 SPOOOIIIILLLEERRRSSSSSS!! http://www.macrossworld.com/speakerpodcast-ep-40-macross%CE%94-ep-2-spoilercast/ Also, wow, 40 episodes!! ... Let's celebrate! . ... Tochiro, you're not invited, btw
  13. I love how that hashtag is made of two Podcasters' names combined. Shipping war!!! EDIT -- And it's so much sweeter that Tochiro can't come in here to tell me to shut up... So, so, sweet.
  14. No, this was not a private viewing, it was a private event. As for Tochiro, you think an attention whore like him is going to sudde3nly self-exile??
  15. Yeah, I'm sure we would have a page of spoilers by now, but unfortunately the powers that be... :/
  16. Unfortunately you have to just wait for the podcast since he's not allowed to post anything in the forums.
  17. The Ostrich is not a VF-1D, it is a completely different valkyrie, the VT-1. It just has a similar paintscheme, at a glance.
  18. The screening was last night, give Tochiro a bit more time! I have Irregular Hunter X and I'm just not enjoying it. MM7 is quite a bit of fun, though!
  19. Chattin' 'bout Da KAZ-TAK!! http://www.macrossworld.com/speakerpodcast-ep-39-sdf-1-macross-designer-kazutaka-miyatake-on-a-boat/ This episode we talk about the Kazutaka Miyatake exhibition on the Mikasa memorial battleship and it gives us a chance to do a retrospective of thoughts on his decades-spanning career. Check it out and let us know what you think!
  20. The quality is fine. And yes, it can slip over the regular sleeve, not "either or".
  21. Triple?? Haha. Between the original VHS and LD releases, the English dub LD, the 1992 VHS and LD Perfect Edition releases, the first DVD, the Remastered DVD, the 2012 BD and now THIS Blu-ray, by my count I now own 9 versions of this damn movie. 11 if you include the UK Kiseki sub and dub on VHS somewhere on the other side of the planet. Yeah, I'm pretty much doomed to keep re-buying anything DYRL. It's a happy curse, though.
