  1. Possibly looks like at least some big name modelers are getting advanced copies Pod seems to have an internal support bulkhead like some big ship models
  2. Hobby Search has the manual scans up for the Armored Valk so that you can build it in your head while you wait for it to arrive https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10813347
  3. Seems like they might have very limited movement?
  4. https://nippper.com/2021/11/44147/ Nice big review pics
  5. If you got to the Hasegawa website the filenames for all the photos tell you which color what runner will be: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/31b/
  6. The pics on the website do give us a look at least of the outside of the knees. Meanwhile on the other runners we see what's possible the foot/ankle joints (left top of pic) There's also some joint looking parts on the top right of this but I don't think those are knee related
  7. Holy heck Hasegawa is on a roll with these announcements. Almost makes me wonder if they had these stashed away waiting for licensing to finally clear... As far as re-releases for February go it's: 1/48 VF-1 A/J Vermillion Squad http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/product/mc02/ 1/72 VF-1 A/J/S http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/product/19-2/ 1/72 VF-1 Weapon set http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/product/6-2/ SDF-1 Movie version http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/product/mc05/
  8. Is that the Kaiyodo Robot Museum one by Katsuhisa Yamaguchi?
  9. Are we gonna get a BD of the concert or is this another one of those cruel in-person exclusives?
  10. They're cranking out those 1/48s like the mold has an expiration date or something The re-release for January is 1/72 VF-1 Super/Strike Valk http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/product/17-2/
  11. huh, I somehow completely missed the news of the 1/72 one. Neat.
  12. I disagree. Bandai Visual's Gundam releases are notoriously overfiltered and oversaturated. It's honestly a surprise that SDF ended up being unmolested.
  13. The color balance is fine. Nostalgia for incorrect and washed out analog video colors is silly. But the post-war arc is the best part of the original.... Either way a remake would be a giant waste of everyone's time. Both the creators' and the audiences. The original series is not only fantastic, but historically significant. Sure the animation quality is very uneven, but the high points are so high that they left a permanent mark on the entire industry and inspired an entire generation of new creators. Plus any attempt at a remake is guaranteed to be extremely cheap and lazy. Out of all the digitally made Macross projects only the 2nd Frontier movie put in an above average effort into its character animation so any prospect for future projects doesn't look good.
  14. It's probably gonna be a very long wait for Hasegawa to do any 1/72 Patlabor, if ever. HMA Garage has done both the F-16kai and the F-15kai in 1/144 last year with Kawamori's supervision, so that license might be occupied
  15. Well, Basara in a fishnet tanktop is 100% canon 😛
  16. Making a vacuum former isn't really that complicated. A lot of Japanese hobby guide books usually have a chapter where they build one out of dollar store parts. A plastic box to plug the vacuum cleaner into, a grater over it as the work surface, some basic frame to hold the plastic stock and heat that over your oven. Heck, depending on the shape of the part sometimes they don't even vacuum it. They just heat it and pull it over the "buck" From Scratch Build Manual 1: From Scratch Build Manual 2, building the box out of dollar store MDF scraps: The important part here is once you actually get around to making your vacuum former, get the "buck" done and start pulling parts off of it, THEN Hasegawa will announce the actual kit to spite you. Someone has to bite the bullet so the rest of us can get the kit 😛
  17. shop2000 is a bunch of scumbag recasters. The original kit is by Frameout Models
  18. I'd honestly rather wait a bit more for the BD. Streaming bitrate is still grossly inadequate.
  19. So definitely 2022 at the earliest for a home media release for us filthy gaijins. Ah well
