  1. Sawano is only doing the OP and ED. Not the score. And even if he was, when your product is going to be compared against one featuring the most bombastic stuff made by guys like Antonin Dvorak, Mahler and a certain Ludvig van Beethoven, well...it's hard not to come short.
  2. No reviews out yet, but Tochiro was on Twitter a short while ago raving about it and saying one should follow shortly. So I'd expect the podcast guys to deliver something within the next 24 hours to strike while the iron is hot.
  3. Pretty entertaining series, while not being as good as any of the 3 you mentioned. At least until episode four that is.
  4. I really hope that it's more than a big commercial for Walkure. I'll hope for the best but try to limit my expectations to the absolute minimum.
  5. Well at least we now know that the music won't be as good. Then again, it was gonna be mission impossible to sound like the first adaptation. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-02-05/new-legend-of-the-galactic-heroes-anime-reveals-music-staff-posts-main-theme/.127411
  6. Some years ago I got to see it on an Imax size screen at a Planetarium. Absolutely awesome. Would love to see a short omake ONA "Another Day at the Office: Colonel Dyson"
  7. Such an amazing writer. Truly colossal works. From her science fiction books like Left Hand of Darkness to the Dispossessed, she was a master of her craft. Don't even get me started on the Earthsea series. Without Earthsea, no Harry Potter.
  8. This season has been pretty entertaining so far. On top of the strong releases by Netflix (devilman, Godzilla and Violet Evergarden) we have Darling in the Franxx, the return of Gotou as a restaurant manager and a ladies (young ladies mind you) man and the sequel to Basilisk. 2 that haven't been mentioned here are Kokkoku which is a quite decent seinen mystery with a dose of the supernatural, and A Place Further Than The Universe which is a very charming and light hearted story of a bunch of young girls trying to travel to Antartica to fulfill a promise. Normally I don't like these kinds of sweet girls doing stuff together stories, but this one has some pretty cool characters and something happens in every episode (it's not just sitting around drinking tea).
  9. Netflix has good stuff this season guys. Check out the awesomely violent Devilman Crybaby and the gorgeous looking Violet Evergarden (those Kyo Ani production values!).
  10. I enjoyed Inuyashiki, Altair and Princess Principal too. Anyone here watching The Ancient Magus Bride? The OP is no longer sung by Junna but now by May'n. It's a bit interesting for a Macross fan going from Mikumo to Sheryl.
  11. It is an awesome series. I really like the work Trigger does. Winter season 2018 doesn't look too spectacular from just looking at the previews. Other than the sequels to Overlord and Basilisk, there's really nothing that makes me go wow. Having said that, there's always unexpected surprises
  12. I was thinking of distance more in terms of the amount of space between different scenarios in the films. Some of those craft must have been faster in light speed than the Millenium Falcon.
  13. Watched Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: In the Name of Love for the first time (hey I'm only 40 years old to the party). But I imagine they retconned the story for the S2, right?
  14. As someone who's seen it more than twice and reads the books i will not be too affected by this, but it's certainly a big issue for all first time viewers. There are so many characters, specially on the Empire side with all the German names. Do you know if there's a BD release coming too?
  15. I don't care about the shape and size of her eyes. As long as there's a good screenwriter and respect for the original story and characters, I'm good.
  16. Maybe they could get the guy who wrote the sidestory manga to write the movie? Might improve things
  17. Definitely in the running together with Rakugo S2.
  18. I’m so psyched for this. I’m gonna be the only one watching this in my town, but I don’t care. It’ll be like seeing an old friend again. do we know who’s playing Alita?
