  1. Heeeeey, where's Michel? Klan Klan needs a Michel figure to go with her!
  2. I'll have to see a finished version of the Macross Characters trading figures, since they don't look that good. I do like their choice of Klan Klan in school girl outfit though...
  3. Holy crap that is one poseable destroid! That is really badass! Makes me want a Cheyenne...
  4. Ewwwwww, that VF-1 has a longer nose than the VF-25, it's got the most needle-nose I've ever seen.
  5. Even if it's unlikely, the possibility is still open to Bandai, especially if it looks like they'd be able to make money off of it. But yeah, judging from the way Bandai is, it's not likely.
  6. Just look up "all that VF" on youtube and you'll find the "version F" that has the 25th Anniversary VF-25 (white with a red and gold streak going from nose to tail), as well as the Sheryl and Ranka schemed VF-25s (purple with an image of the singer taking up the entire top back of the body and some of the wings. If the VF-25 was fixed up or a version 2 came out, I'd love to get a VF-25 Sheryl scheme...
  7. Ah, but like the VF-1 the VF-25 has a lot of color schemes that can be produced to milk the mold. Not as many as with the VF-1, but still a fair amount: Alto, Ozma, Michel, Lucca, Cannon Fodder, M-zero stand in, Sheryl scheme (All that VF), Ranka scheme (All that VF), and 25th Anniversary (All that VF). Being much larger of a company, I think the cost of materials would be negligible for Bandai concerning the size of the VF-25.
  8. You can use an imagehost, like imageshack, where you upload your pictures then use the links they give you. Or you can attach files after you click the "add reply" or "reply" button. It's under the window where you type your post in.
  9. Woah, first I heard of that, though it doesn't suprise me. I wonder, what with the VFX2 scheme GN-U figures. I wonder if there's any truth to this.
  10. DX team has no excuse for us to cut them any slack. Bandai has been in the business for a long time, they have teams that have made mecha for a long time, and they have had teams that have made transforming mecha. Bandai has produced toys with smaller joints and thinner looking limbs that have been durable (Saint Cloth Myth line for example). Model kits are made of a less durable plastic anyway, and the 1/60 is going to have metal parts as well. According to Bandai fanboys in the past, Bandai were supposed to be able to put out something that would not only kick Yamato's ass in terms of looks, but also be super durable with no QC problems. From what I've seen of other Bandai stuff, I know they have the ability to make a good VF-25. They're either: A) Not trying. or B) Purposefully making the 1/60 this way to cut costs on development or because marketing believes that funky-chunky=looks robust=will sell better. For the price point the 1/60 is going at, it's similar to the price point of Yamato's VF-1 V2. And Yamato is a smaller company that puts out valkyries with LOTS of parts to be assembled. I don't buy the easy to assemble bit. Especially with the power that Bandai has. If that is the case, then like many people worried about, Bandai cheaped out on us. I'm still hoping Bandai will miraculously solve all the proportion problems, have transparent plastic nose sensors, and have some good landing gear. But I sure as hell am not holding my breath on it.
  11. Not quite the same. The folding joint that folds the shoulder area out in gerwalk and battroid, that has been suffering from cracks on the VF-1S. Dunno about the VF-1A yet, but I haven't heard any mentions of cracks on that one from the times I pop in the 1/60 V2 threads.
  12. Answer in the movie maybe? Or maybe it will remain a mystery...
  13. We don't know if it was a full power blast from Battle Galaxy. Judging from the power of Frontier's gunship when firing a blast, able to wipe out a massive fleet of vajra drones, I'd say that Battle Galaxy's Macross Cannon was not firing at full blast.
  14. The 1/72 definitely looks better in all modes, and has the fighter looking way better than the 1/60, as the legs are correctly positioned (or much more so than the 1/60). The sad thing is that the 1/72 is our only option of a good VF-25 representation, unless the 1/60 or 1/100 somehow miraculously get fixed before release. And models were not meant to survive repeated transformations or posing.
  15. Miku Ichijo and the Megaroad 1 descendants could be found or come back. Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay could be retired now (or have passed on). They would have aged enough that the original seiyuu wouldn't have to be used (especially in Hikaru's case since his seiyuu is gone). Wouldn't that be a twist, the Megaroad 1 descendants come back as villains...
  16. Alto, Sheryl, and Ranka are the same age range as Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay were in SDF Macross. We can still get a decision in the movie. I won't put bets on it though.
  17. Until there is a picture without a big gap, I will continue to complain about it. Same goes with the rest of the problems with this toy. Even in this picture there's a big gap and the legs aren't up properly. Still doesn't look remotely integrated. And the more recent test pictures still doesn't have the legs sticking up. As stated previously they should be sticking up well above the wings and shield, like the YF-19's legs. If they fix this problem I will whole heartedly clap my hands, then say "good job, fix the rest of it".
  18. Nanase wakes up and tells Lucca "I had this horrible nightmare I kissed you. My love is only for Ranka." and Lucca's heart shatters and he becomes the big bad guy.
  19. The attacking Hydra scene was bad animation, just like the knife fight between Max and Miria was bad animation, just like a great deal of Flame of Rekka was chock full of bad animation (especially the final episode of that series). Calling it artsy to me just seems like an excuse to not admit that there were some negative things in the series that took away from the whole. But artsy is some peoples' opinion, bad animation is mine. And most of the rest of the series had overall fantastic animation, though distant character shots could have been better a number of times (missing faces or deformed faces).
  20. It's Lucca we're talking about, of course it's a bad idea. In all seriousness though, there's a lot that's gone on since Macross Plus and Macross 7. Perhaps there have been advances in AI technology that makes bioneural chips no longer so dangerous, or maybe they use a different AI system. And I don't recall ever hearing anything about a Judah system in Macross Plus.
  21. Nuh-uh, prototype does not explain why the rear of the legs do not stick out well above the wings while in fighter mode. They should be sticking out above the height of the shield, similar to the YF-19's legs in fighter mode. There's a big gap where the legs should be sticking out. So now you look through this big gap and say "gee, that's where the legs should be but I've got a big gaping gap in fighter mode." It's been like this on every prototype picture we've seen. It's not mistransformed or a prototype issue if it's been like that in all the pictures. May I add that the model doesn't have this problem in fighter mode. Unforunately Bandai is the only game in town for Macross Frontier toys and models. So if you want a good looking VF-25 you have to settle for the model kit, because the 1/60 just isn't cutting it at looking like a good representation of the VF-25. Originally I had wrote that you'd have to settle for "a model kit or partsformer" but then I remembered that the 1/100 has the same leg problem in fighter mode as the 1/60. Pretty sad. The toy team could learn a lot from the model team at Bandai.
  22. Ah, but both were waiting to eat a pineapple dish before they went out to battle and got injured. Pineapple salad is a killer, while pineapple cake is not. Hence why a lot of people were going "oh $hit Ozma is going to die this episode" when all the pineapple references came up.
  23. Dunno why they showed the Macross 11 in particular, but each Macross fleet seems to be a bit different. Early New Macross Class city-sections didn't have the clamshell dome. Macross 7 had those attached sections like where Fire Bomber lived. I could only guess what those pipe/wing things were.
  24. The Battle Frontier gunship took the hit and exploded. It probably helped that the beam took a chunk out of the Macross Quarter's gunship as well. Battle Galaxy took a hit from the Quarter's gunship, but I guess it wasn't powerful enough to break through its ppb. Loved how the turrets on Frontier chewed Battle Galaxy to crap before delivering that punch to its midsection.
  25. Ozma survived a pineapple dish and got to eat it, Roy didn't. Hikaru and Alto both totalled plenty of their valks. Alto never got injured to the point that he had to be hospitalized, and Alto was fighting against a tougher enemy. Max and Michel are both badass but completely different kinds of pilots. I wonder who would come out the victor at different ranges... At close range Max would win hands down, simply because it's Max. But at long range, I think Michel has the edge even against Max. Lucca is nothing without his Ghost support squadron, Kakizaki may have been a big dumb oaf, but he could at least fire his gunpod. If you toss Miria in as part of Skull and Klan Klan as part of Skull, I wonder how they'd have it out. Klan Klan has the advantage of the additional shoulder cannon on the Q-rea. And if it were Skull vs Skull, would it be Original Skull in old-school VF-1 valkyries? The upgraded VF-1X valkyries? Or in VF-25s as well? Would New Skull be going in just the plain VF-25s, or would they be going in with Super and Armor packs? Would they get reaction warheads and MDEs? Would Old Skull get Super or Strike packs? Reaction warheads? If it were Old Skull with the valkyries and weapons of their time vs New Skull with the valkyries and weapons of their time, New Skull would win due to the more powerful and higher performing valkyries.
