  1. Seikimatsu and some anime I don't personally know. Love Seikimatsu, though Rammstein and Evangelion. I actually found this one pre-Youtube.
  2. That was my first "real" airbrush, too. Still have it, in fact. Don't use it, though, since it won't readily hook up to my Tamiya compressor. Gee, funny thing that you can't easily find American made stuff over here. Not complaining. I really like my Tamiya, but the Pasche served me well, too.
  3. Danish thrash metal (and I don't mean the pastry) I play a (very) little bass, and this intro just blows me away.
  4. Actually, if we want to get pedantic, it's a Meltrandi design, not Zentradi. I've wanted this kit forever, and I managed to snag it off Yahoo Auctions last year as a birthday gift to myself (actually, my wife chipped in half and did the actual bidding, but I found it, dammit!!)
  5. OOOOooooooooohhhhh baby, I've been waiting a long time to get my hands on you! Anyone else finding that Macross Chronicle makes an awesome painting/marking reference? Also comes with a 1/72 scale Miria, doubt I'll do anything with her though, since I suck at figures.
  6. Use decals. Ban Dai's stickers suck ass. I use this with very good results: Mr. Mark Setter (when did HLJ stop carrying it?) For a wash, I found this to be really good, and dead-easy to use: Pro Modeller wash. I use the black. Good luck, and have fun!
  7. Coming to town on September 18th. Already have my ticket. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bc40MuAO7ig
  8. Thanks for all the comments. When I watched Mac Plus, I always liked the -19 better; but now that I've built them both, I think I like the -21 better now. 2 pieces of advice- 1. Unless you match your paint job perfectly to the decal color, don't bother using the canopy decal-just mask and paint it. 2. Measure the wing tip lights carefully before cutting! I cut out the area suggested in the directions without looking at the clear piece, and ended up removing about twice as much as I needed to. Thank you Tamiya basic putty!
  9. I titled it that way, because my wife's first comment was "Well, it's very......blue." Pretty much straight up build. The camera really didn't pick up the shade of blue it is. It's a straight cobalt blue, not the light blue of Max's Macross 7 Sturmvogel. More can be seen here.
  10. Y'all need some metal in your soul Chthonic - Takao (Taiwan) Seikimatsu - 蠟人形の館'99 (Rouningyou No Yakata) (Japan) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFttk5fmZQU
  11. Speak of the Devil Yellow Sub/Club M 1/144 scale Monster.
  12. You're not talking about that tube of Tamiya Basic putty in the picture, are you? Because I can get a tube of that for only ¥180 or so. That's one hell of a mark-up you're paying!
  13. This is probably what you're looking at getting, if you haven't already gotten it by now. 1/160 scale Monster by Arii
  14. If we used ovens, there should be. Very little baking goes on in the home over here. Most places don't even come with an oven. People usually by one separately (about the size of a large microwave oven), or their microwaves come with an oven feature. The oven here never even got used until my wife and I moved back in with her mom, and she's been here since 2000 or so. So, back to topic, paint thinner DOES NOT work. All it does is frost the clear part. However, with some very delicate scraping, I managed to get it removed. Mask it and paint it, and I've now got something I can live with.
  15. Yes, tape works. That's what got me into this trouble to begin with! I have never seen any Testors products in Japan, which is a small shame, since I like their Model Master Gunmetal better than the Tamiya. However, looking at the MSDS of the ELO, I'm wondering if just some enamel thinner on a Q-Tip will help me for the small, stubborn areas I've got left. I'll try it out, and post results. Thanks for the suggestions, though!
  16. So, I'm building a Hasegawa YF-21, and I need a little help. I've already applied the canopy decal (using Mr. Mark Setter), but I screwed up along the line, and now have to remove it, and just paint it (which I should have done to begin with). I've got most of it off, but there's some stubborn areas. Any suggestions on easier removal of an already set decal? Thanks!
  17. Not on my workbench, but will be on my Dad's come Christmas. My parents came out to visit last month, and I took them to my favorite hobby shop to reserve a VF-11 for me, and my dad went back to look at this about 4-5 times while we were there; so it's the least I can do for him. Actually looks like a pretty good challenge. May have to pick one up for myself eventually.
  18. Found this company while randomly surfing around. Pre-cut "dot" masking tape for digital cammo.
  19. Starting bid of ¥500, no takers, on Yahoo Japan auctions.
  20. You're welcome. It came out June 25th, but I didn't notice it until last week or so.
  21. This was in Volume 3 of "Macross the First", so I thought I'd share. Looks interesting enough to try out.
  22. Yep, I bought it when it first came out. Then, I moved to Japan in 2004, and all my kits stayed boxed up until 2 years ago or so. Nice to let them see the light of day again. Kind of funny, though. Buy my kits from Japan, have then sent to America, then I end up moving and building them over here.
  23. About 2 days worth of work on the primary build. Now, 2-3 weeks left for putty and sanding, prime and paint, decals, and all other fiddly work. But that's why we love this hobby!
  24. Thought I was seeing a Punisher skull in the left shoulder lamp. Damn, really going to have to work on mine now... Keep the inspiration coming!
