  1. OK, this is starting to bug me. Waaay back, when RT was on the air for the first time, I remember putting together a model of Roy's Valkyrie. I know now that it was just a repackaged Bandai 1/72 VF-1S kit. What's bugging me though, is who repackaged it? Revell? AMT? And does anyone know where I can see a box picture? Google has failed me. Thanks!
  2. Since the world needs more VF-4's, here's my contribution. It's an original Musashiya resin kit. Picked it up on-line though a Hong Kong hobby shop about 8 years ago, sadly can't remember the name of the shop anymore. Went with the desert camouflage scheme from an illustration in "This Is Animation Special:Macross Plus". Kit didn't come with any decals, so I used leftovers from other Macross kits, and a sheet of 1/72 military aircraft decals. Only trouble I has was that however many times I tried, I could never seem to get the canopy cut down to the exact shape for the perfect fit.
  3. The world need more VF-4's 1/72 scale from Musashiya. Can't even remember where I picked it up from.
  4. Got a few years? I've only got 19 kits to go before I can start this one. Well, if Hasegawa decides to release a weapon set for this one, it won't effect me very much. Funny thing is, I got a 20% discount on this kit for reserving one for 20 minutes. It was released on February 25th, went into my favorite shop on Sunday looking for it, but they didn't have one yet. Asked me if I wanted to reserve one, said "Of course!". Would have said that even without the discount. Well, when I was filling out the paperwork, they must have gotten a delivery in, because I got a phone call not 20 minutes later saying that it arrived. Still gave me the discount, too! So, if you're ever in Sapporo, take the Nanboku subway line out to Minami Hiragishi, and stop in at Ohm.
  5. They do. It costs ¥1200. Trick is, you have to be living in Japan, and enclose the coupon from the instruction sheet to get it. Though, HLJ could probably get a set for you, if you ask.
  6. Picked mine up today. It's a thing of beauty! Sometimes, I really like living in Japan.
  7. 60 cm long, and it'll only set you back by 210,000 yen
  8. In case anyone was interested in where this new image of Minmei is coming from: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/519-DwjcWBL.jpg Macross the First, done by Haruhiko Mikimoto. It's a retelling of the original Macross saga, with a few minor changes. http://file.asagawo.blog.shinobi.jp/090124-macross-6.jpg http://node3.img3.akibablog.net/09/jan/28/312.jpg
  9. I'd just like to say "Thanks!" for the advice. Hotter water than I've used in the past, and a little patience did wonders. Please check out the Gallery section for the finished product.
  10. Thought this might get lost in the 1000 plus responses to the Bandai Frontier thread. Just saw this at HLJ. Looks like it's set for a November release. http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN960999 Also, does anyone know anything about the 1/72 Vajra that Bandai was supposed to be coming out with, too? I remember seeing a prototype pic a few months back, but haven't seen anything since then.
  11. Thanks guys. I'll give that a try. I have been using warm water, guess I'll crank up the heat a little bit. Yes, you can order replacement parts for Hasegawa kits, one runner at a time or a replacement decal sheet. The hitch is that it's only in Japan you can do this.
  12. Hey all, having a little bit of a problem here, hope I can get some advice. I'm working on the Hasegawa 1/72 scale YF-19 now. I bought it when it first came out, only got around to building it now (no, my back-log of kits isn't quite that bad!). Anyways, the water-slide decals are giving me a devil of a time. I'm needing to let them stay in the water for at least two minutes, and they still don't want to come off easily. Is it the age of the decals that causing this? Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions? Or am I better off buying a new sheet from Hasegawa? Thanks!

    1/72 VF2SS Valkyrie II

Second resin kit I've ever built. Recast kit (don't hate me!). Also included two non-scale Marduke battle pods.
