    But… That’s the whole point and Yamato’s biggest achievement: to make it look as chunky as possible, just like the line art! Why would anybody want it less chunky?

    To me it happened in 1986, when Robotech was aired twice in a row in Mendoza, Argentina, the city where I spent part of my childhood. I was 11 years old and loved it. After that I never saw it again, nor anything Macross/Robotech related. It wasn’t until 2001 that I knew the truth about Robotech’s origins and two years later a friend of mine lend me his SDF:M CD collection and that’s when my Macross love story commenced.

    I don’t know, that’s a good question. I used to prefer Yamato’s traditional matte finish, but –even though I still do- after seeing how beautiful their recent VF-19S looks I think it wouldn’t bother me too much if they decided to make a v.3 YF-19 with a glossy finish.

    Exactly! And the fact that the samples are cast in red doesn’t automatically mean that they are Milia custom.

    I think it’s probably because the result wouldn't be anime accurate. Fortunately, they give us the possibility of customisation by including the sticker sheet.

    Well, that sucks. These ball joints with metal post + metal half hemisphere + plastic half hemisphere + plastic insert in the socket for friction have been in use since the v.1 VF-25 and not very successfully.
