It's almost done... Just need to work a bit more on the canopy, paint and install the cannons, and decal it up. I know the grey's a bit dark, but I like it. The stand (not pictured), is pretty nice. Can't wait for the Mk 2 Viper.
-
Actually, they're also in scale with the original Viper kit that was re-released not too long ago. That kit is not exactly small... I've got this one pre-ordered at my local hobby shop, and online. Yes, I'm going to have a two ship formation of these things. Now, hurry up and get going on the Viper Mk VII, Galactica, and Pegasus!

I've got the opposite problem. Mine's really hard to lock into place. I use a pair of tweezers to get a good grip on it so that the lock engages. Honestly, I'm contemplating taking apart the nose to get at the locks and sanding them down a tiny bit, just so the lock engages easier.

You know, there's a good chance that your guy on ebay, in addition to overcharging you in shipping, probably ripped you off on the stand. Besides, why don't you simply make your own stand? shiroikaze: Damn, that's impressive. How hefty is the model would you say?
-
Interesting... have you considered gluing the non-moving parts (if there are any), to improve stability? Or is it more of an engineering failure?

Dalong has the preview of the MG V Gundam. Looks not too shabby. You even get a second corefighter, so that you can properly display the top and bottom halves of the 'suit when it's transformed. I'm waiting on a V2.

My Zeta 1.0 that I built many years ago stands perfectly well. As does my Zeta plus a1, which is about 80% of the same kit as the Zeta 1.0.
-
Or, you do what I did when some MGs were $10 on amazon.com. I put out an offer to borrow somebody's address in the US to have the items initially shipped to, and then have them ship it to me. I sweetened the deal by offering to buy for them whatever MGs (that were $10), for them. End result, for $30 US I got a GP-01, GP-01fb, and Kampher. He got a GP-02 and a GM (I think). The extra $20 covered shipping quite nicely. Edit: There's one other option at the moment, and that's HLJ. Wait for them to have another sale that gets you free express shipping, get the cheapest thing on the list, and get everything else you want. Yes, you risk customs, but that's life. You do, however, save big bucks as you're not paying shipping.

Call me odd, but I see the old Air Canada scheme in this. Orange on white... Looks pretty nice though...

That is true. However, if the marines had given their situation more thought, I think they could have held off the aliens indefinitely. It also didn't help that most of their firepower was destroyed when the dropship crashed into the APC.
-
Just like to point out that in Aliens, the marines had tons of high tech weapons, and were annihilated by a force of aliens who had nothing but sharp claws, sharp pointy teeth, and acid blood. The aliens only lost because the marines damaged the terraformer reactor. I finally saw the trailer ahead of 2012, and I'm thinking Aliens part 2.

Ahh... So that's what it is. Will the Megatron pistol from Masterpiece Optimus prime work, or is it something that came with Starscream? I have masterpiece Prime, but I don't know where I put the little Megatron pistol.
-
I got my masterpiece Skywarp, and I love it. Just one question. There's this clamp that the thing came with, and it clips onto the underside of the base, but the instructions don't mention what to do with it. Does anybody know?

I'm getting mine tomorrow. I've got the advantage of my brother who works near a Wal-Mart. Surprisingly, this one was found out in Kanata (in Ottawa, Canada). Usually Canadian Wal-Marts are made of fail and suck.
-
Does anybody know when this is going to be released on DVD or Blu Ray? I sadly, had to watch a really crappy cam rip (I know, shame on me, but I couldn't wait), and I would like to know when it's going to be out.

I think the earliest we will see a 2.0 Guncannon is probably 2011. Just my guess.
-
Well, the Guncannon is able to do many poses that the TV show has it do. It comes with extra hands so that it can get on its knees and fire the cannons from a "down on all fours" pose, and the neck is flexible enough so that the head can actually look straight ahead when the 'suit is lying down on the ground. It also comes with grenades that go into the lower leg (with a matching pivoting hatch to boot). I also liked the design of the knees and shoulders. The shoulders are three pieces (externally) so that it replicates the sliding armour of the original design. The knees have these extra armour pieces that slide up as the knee rotates, to protect the mechanics underneath. Like I said, it doesn't look like much, but I really appreciate the overall package of the kit. As they say in 4chan, picture related. It's mine! Also, I'm really fond of the GM Custom design (have that one too). Wrong feet and all. EDIT: Forgot to mention. I also did away with the stickers and dry transfers, and used waterslide decals on the kit. Shame Bandai doesn't always include them. At least they're cheap at 400 yen a pop.
-
Really? When I built the Guncannon, I was thoroughly impressed with the design of the kit. Almost no seams were visible (just the standard head seam), and it's flexible as hell, despite how the kit looks when finished. The little Core fighter is pretty good too. Heck, my Guncannon got me second place at IMPS Capcon Ottawa in the Sci-Fi ground robots competition.

This is where glue comes in handy. All the parts that are supposed to stay together and not move, always gets glue when I build my gundams. Despite the fact that gundams are snap together, I still glue them. Piece of mind.
-
I've only got the 2.0 GM, and that's not getting a standard "shoot me I'm a GM!" colour scheme. My main sticking points with the 2.0 Gundam and GM are basically the feet and backpacks. I'm more "used" to the later versions of the items. But I love the look of the 2.0 Zaku II. Eventually I'm going to build my two.

Quality, as in won't fall apart on you with the tiniest touch? Or Quality: Wallet drain? You could take a HDMI cable, snip out the wire between the connectors, and re-solder in your own wire, and you won't know the difference. It's digital: The signal is getting through or it isn't. Now if it's analog, then there is some truth to getting the better quality cable. -

You could also consider older games to run on the laptop. I've gotten Master of Orion 2 to work flawlessly on my netbook. I just networked my DVD drive on my desktop to my netbook, installed Moo2, and then copied the contents of the CD to the netbook's hard drive, and told the game where to look for the "CD" (go to the file called orioncd.ini, and type in the location of the cd, ie D:\orionCD). Also, steam and GOG.com is great for old games. Heck Half Life works pretty good on my netbook too, surprisingly. Of course, the netbook can't handle 720p or even 1080p video, but it will do standard definition video just fine. -
Just a quick question. I could be wrong but doesn't Audrey Burne look a bit like Mineva Lao Zabi, but obviously grown up? I mean Zeta happened in 0087, and this is 0096, so I think she's the right age... And I'm getting the sneaking feeling that this info was brought to light before somewhere...

Basically, the difference in micro set and micro sol is that the micro set is a wetting solution. You brush a bit of this on the model where the decal is going to go, and then you place the decal in place. After blotting out the water or micro set, you dab on some micro sol, and let it "melt" the decal onto the surface. Don't touch it, just leave it be and after a coat of clear flat or clear gloss (depending on the model), it'll look like its painted on. Oh, and if you're careful about it, consider actually gluing the non moving/non removable parts together on gundam models. They may be snap fit, but glue adds stability to the model. Just test fit everything first before gluing.

That's actually the Perfect Grade Zeta Gundam. The 2.0 incorporates some of it's features into its design. There's similarities in how the wing binders lock together in mobile suit mode.
