The VF-X was initially a Macross Chronicle (Shogakukan release) exclusive....later they ended up being sold at several online shops....I am guessing the folks at Macross Chronicle/Shogakukan overestimated the popularity of the VF-X or Yamato Valks in general....or Yamato overestimated the demand.....this is why I believe the VF-4G was offered/produced pretty much by demand/pre-orders.....I hope Graham or someone else will eventually disclose how many VF-X's, VF-4G's, etc were actually made.... The part that is really disappointing is the fact that unless Arcadia finally announces a return to PT valk production...we will not be getting any PT valk exclusives from the DeAgostini release of the Macross Chronicle....an Alaska Base VF-1A or 1/48 VF-1D or VF-1S would have been great.....

I think that is not the "new normal" for the VF-X.....I think a couple of guys went nuts.....such pricing will either result in the seller needing to relist due to non-payment...or it will certainly make other sellers want to try to get similar prices.....we will see what the next few go for to really see if a VF-X is worth 2000 USD...if so, it will de-throne the Max and Miria as the NEW undisputed Yamato Holy Grail TOY!!!!

I would say you paid what it is worth.....both the Vf-1S and the YF-19 25th anniversary editions did not seem to be very popular....however, with the uncertainty of PT valks from Arcadia (fka Yamato)....it's value may increase at some point... Prices have dropped only because of imminent and known about re-issues....the problem is that Bandai seems to limit the number of toys it actually produces for each valk...so it is anyone's guess as to the long-term effect on pricing.... You must choose...but choose wisely

As far as PT valks is concerned.... Yamato went out of business....Emerged as Arcadia...future of Macross PT valks is uncertain at this time..... Only things coming up now are Bandai valks...with the VF-171 standard just days away from release....followed by a VF-25F re-release and a new release of the RVF-25.....you can still find pre-orders at some online shops.... That is actually a fair trade...for now, not sure what effect the re-release of a VF-27 would have on future pricing for it.....however.... The market price for the VF-25S renewal has actually dropped significantly since the announcement of the re-release of the VF-25F renewal....as it is very likely that a re-release of a VF-25S is soon to be announced.... Difference between the Yamato and Bandai market price for valk toys....Bandai is still making them...Yamato/Arcadia has gone stealth regarding Macross PT valks! Actually, you may need to change your strategy, the cheapest way to get one will most likely be from an international seller once Bandai announces the pre-order.....which I am still unsure whether it will be a bundled VF + super parts combo or just the super parts.....does anyone on the board know for sure?
