Ohsato never fails to amaze me in the sheer quantity of Macross junk...err, I mean fine Macross collectibles issued during the SDFM era!!..... Here we have yet another version of their "flying glider" toy.......lots of cool Masami illustrations throughout....old school Macross at it's finest....

Ohsato Macross Flying Gliders! Another Ohsato Glider variant...

Osato Summer Catalog Osato (aka Ohsato) was arguably the most prolific purveyor of Macross oddities during the SDFM era....they made epic use of their Macross license to sell everything from collectible cards to inflatable rubber boats! For the 30+ years I have been collecting Macross, acquiring the various catalogs from the many producers of Macross merchandise has always been one of my most difficult and rewarding collectible hunts. I have been lucky to find catalogs from Takatoku, Bandai and Yamato.....however, the most elusive so far has been finding a copy of an Osato Catalog. I always knew there had to be one...if not several of them. Surely a company known to produce at least 4 different types (and counting!) of styrofoam Macross gliders had to have produced a catalog to facilitate the wholesale ordering of such "fine toys"!! Well, the search is finally over....or at minimum, the proof of the existence of an Osato catalog is finally available!..... Behold! The Osato Summer Catalog!!! Let the Summer of Macross begin!!

Morinaga Choco-Corn Macross mini kits These are just some of the 16 total mini kits that came packed inside the Morinaga Choco-corn candy boxes....they are extremely difficult to find in either built or unbuilt, boxed or unboxed condition. Model kits are one of the Macross collectible categories that I do not generally collect, however, these Morinaga mini kits are so cool and quirky that I had to make an exception for them! These kits do not seem to be created from the same molds as their similar small scale ARII, IMAI or Nichimo counterparts, all of which are far superior in terms of detailing. To me, they look like something Ohsato would have created but as of now I cannot be certain of this.
