Macross Fans are really getting pampered for Xmas this year!

Sorry, but I only collect Macross. With that said, do you have the This is Animation Orguss books?....there are 2-3 of them I think. If they are anything like the Macross releases....then they should cover quite a bit of lineart including the mecha. Other than that I have seen several Orguss furoku that cover the lineart from the show.....like this one.....https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/l520911522?conversionType=search_suggest I am pretty sure the TIA books would have what you seek

The upcoming Kawamori Designers Note will contain "rough" illustrations that detail Kawamori's evolution of several of his Macross VF designs from concept to finished design...... The Macross Variable Fighter Designers Note, for the most part, highlights the lineart of the final design for most of the VF's created by Kawamori so far....it is an excellent book....cover to cover is 100% full of VF lineart....you definitely get your money's worth on this book....

I have much (R)espect for Bandai for what they are doing with the DX line, especially with the recent news on a 1/48 VF-1D.....a first! ....but I still feel Yamato is the GOAT!

missing boxes on average yield about 30% less than the current market price.... Here is one "loose" example that sold recently on YJA.... https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t743765589 and a "boxed" sample.... https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k459257400 Here is the link if you want to average out the market price within the last few months on "boxed" Yamato VF-4's.... https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/closedsearch/closedsearch?va=やまと+1%2F60+VF-4G&b=1&n=100&auccat=&tab_ex=commerce&ei=utf-8&aq=-1&oq=&sc_i=&exflg=&p=やまと+1%2F60+VF-4G&x=47&y=19 ...once you have the average figure a 30% deduction of that price for the missing box and then add international shipping and about 10-15 USD for domestic (Japanese) shipping fees and proxy fees and about 50-60 USD for international shipping .....it is ultimately what a collector is willing to pay for a "loose" valk.....most collectors will expect more than a 30% discount due to the missing box....It also does not help that Arcadia did a re-release of the VF-4G and that they will be releasing a FB2012 version soon.....good luck!

Not sure how long you have been collecting Macross, but if you have been in it since 1982....you should know it never ends... Expect a new VF-1 in about 5-10 years...start saving now!

No problem...oh and don't skip on Part 2 of the Origin of Valkyrie article...it focuses more on the Bandai editions of the 1/55 https://tamashii.jp/t_kokkaku/64/

There is a great article in the Tamashii site that goes over the history of the 1/55.... https://tamashii.jp/t_kokkaku/65/ Basically, yes, the Super VF-1S was the last 1/55 released in February 1984. There were also plans for a release of a Super Pack stand alone set, similar to what they did for the GBP set. The article implies that the next release in the 1/55 line may have been the VF-1D, but it seems work on the DYRL 1/55 toys, namely the Hikaru VF-1S "Super", was prioritized. The Takatoku Toys "Hobby and Toy" booklets also detail that the Hi-Comical VF-1S was going to be a Takatoku release. In theory, had Takatoku not went BK, they would have released Takatoku branded DYRL VFs, "Hi-Comical" SD toys, a 1/55 VF-1D, and the Henkei Super VF-1S, which was eventually released by Mark. I think they probably would have also released this particular "unlicensed" LCD game....

Prowse had basically been shunned by Lucas/Lucasfilm for years....but it still sucks that Lucas did not use him as Anakin in the big reveal at the end of ROTJ... I think I watched some documentary on his career and role as Darth Vader where they actually reshot the final ROTJ scene with him but were threatened by Lucasfilm with a lawsuit if they released the footage.....would love to see it....kinda surprised no one has attempted a deepfake

What about the hand holding the gunpod's barrel on this old school boxart illustration? @Shawn, how about a "Red Skull" VF-1S custom?

I'd settle for a re-scaled DX VF-1....wonder what KC could at 1/60-ish scale?

It would be interesting if the new Kawamori VF book sheds any light into the new claim from Bandai that alleges the head units on the TV and DYRL VF-1S were originally meant to be different. AFAIK, there are no differences to it in the currently available lineart....."currently" being the key word.
