    Yes, but he had just landed so maybe the engines were still engaged for a quick getaway?....but yeah, SDFM TV animation is very inconsistent

    I have just always thought...closed in Battroid....opened for fighter and gerwalk...closed for any mode in space... There are entire sequences, such as when Max and Millia are dogfighting in episode 18 , in which every scene seems to show Max's VF-1A in Battroid with it's covers fully closed yet his engines are clearly engaged....but when not flying in space...the covers are open for both fighter and gerwalk modes...unless it is transforming from either mode into Battroid, they seem to always just be closed in Battroid when on the ground or flying about... @Seto Kaiba could probably provide the "in-universe" explanation as to when the covers should actually be on/off...

    Nice! I don't really follow any other anime shows, so that one would have been missed by me. Although going over some of his collected works books, I do see a tendency to borrow from himself...

    OK, that sounds reasonable. I stopped using them for years now, but I still have an account. I doubt I would have any reason to use them going forward though.

    Did you just get the cel shipped? If so, what did they charge you? I know they use FedEx as I used to use them all the time. For some reason I thought they had halted their service?

    Nice stuff! Did you get the Max via Buyee? I am curious what they charged you to get it shipped. I have some cels at their warehouse, but am worried they will charge me a kidney for shipping via DHL or FedEx.

    I thought I had read it somewhere that all three games were tied to the same alt universe created by MII....maybe not I think "angular" is pretty much every VF other than maybe the VA-3 and some other more radical departures to the streamlined "VF" look...nevertheless, I do see a similar aesthetic between the battroid forms of the VF-2SS and the VF-1SOL as shown in their lineart.... And speaking of the VA-3.....

    So once again, Christmastime is here! I have already decorated outside, but it's my Christmas tree that gets to shine each year with a bunch of ornaments....mostly Hallmark stuff...but some other odds and ends make it onto the tree each year.....I have too many ornaments so I cannot place them all onto my tree, so with the kids older now, it's become a tradition for everyone to pick out their own ornaments that get to be placed on the tree or buy a few new ones!.... This year I added 4 new ones and dusted off some oldies....these were my picks for 2020.... Anyone else have cool stuff they hang on their Christmas tree?

    LOL...I tried to resist this year...and it helps when I mainly just collect Macross.....but they got me with the following 2 new additions to my Hallmark ornament collection....basterds!!! This was too cute to resist....pull on the snack and Grogu's ears and arms move... This one is a mini animatronic...says a bunch of Yoda phrases while blinking and moving his mouth...the material used for Yoda is a rubbery material that helps with the effect...it was useless to resist not buying him

    I suppose then that data collection works differently a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.....lol I know why it was done....what I thought was dumb is how they decided to demonstrate the point.....it was all built up for nothing as it quickly escalated into the typical..."something needs to go wrong or characters need to make dumb decisions"....to keep the plot moving.... OK, but wasn't that by design?.....explained years after ANH with the release of RO? Can't wait for that movie, Novel, Comic Book to come out to explain Imperial IT Infrastructure and Protocol!!! But yeah......it's Star Wars....I know....check your logic at the door and all....

    But he did not have his Mando armor on....how would anyone know he is "The Mandalorian" and not some ex-Rebel SpecOps guy for hire? And why would knowing his face help in any way? Mando doesn't care that the Empire knows it is him as he sent a message directly to Moff Gideon.... The only thing I can say could be a problem is if his "sect" is so strict that they have NO EXCEPTIONS on removing your helmet in front of others.....thus he would be banished....be pardoned.....or just quit and join Boba or the Night Owls.....and eventually become MANDALORE after taking the Dark Saber from Gideon?

    Yeah, I can see it too....The VF-2 was designed first for Macross II....but then Kawamori did the VF-1SOL which takes place prior to the events of MII, but during the same "alternate" Macross universe that MII, Macross 2036 and Macross: Eien no Love Song all exist in, which all derive after the events of DYRL.....so maybe Kawamori just wanted to make the VF-1SOL "fit in" design-wise with the mecha that was already designed without his and/or Studio Nue's involvement? In short, he was cool with it....even if it wasn't "his" vision of Macross...the man obviously takes his work seriously!
