Were they immune to the "snap"? I know nothing about these characters....but looks interesting so far....felt the same about GotG, now they are among my favorite Marvels movies....so looking forward to this...

Been watching this rough genga on and off for years on YJA.....I always found it interesting as it has a cool "storyboard" look to it.... Acquiring other Macross rarities have always kept me from buying it....until just recently.... Judging by Minmay's outfit and positioning, I am pretty sure it is a setup for the scene where Hikaru and Minmay get trapped within the SDF-1 and Minmay begins to float leading to the "Zero-G" musical sequence...

I have one from AE from the 1st release...I wonder if they would consider getting another one from the 2nd release as bypassing their 1 X limit...or if they will just consider it as a separate release? Guess I will find out....needed another one to try to fit a VF-1D or parts-form one to fit..... In either case you can never have too many Macross outfits!

Hopefully, the recent BW/HG news has not screwed up their existing licensing agreements....was looking forward to at least completing their 1/72 VF-1 lineup through the previously teased VFs...and who else has even teased the possibility of an updated TV SDF-1 in some sort of "DX" scale...they definitely have the ability to pull it off...just needed to un-Hasegawa that last prototype.....descale it to 1/3000....oh and work on the colors..... -

yep....they stated that they are not able to sell Macross in the US....of course, that was before the "great" deal struck between HG and BW, which in terms of the HMR Tomahawk and Phalanx, would still leave us at HG's mercy..... Would be intersting if HG reached out to Bandai instead and asked for a partnership in releasing those 2 specific destroids.....imagine a US-ONLY Robotech/Macross branded 2-pack containing the Tomahawk and Phalanx.....perhaps we can petition the idea to HG instead?

If only they had skipped out on all the non-Macross stuff....but it isn't technically dead yet, just on life-support...at least not until end of May.....if we do not hear of anything else being released by end of year at the latest, even if it is non-Macross, then we can write the obit on the line...........sad if it ends on a non-Macross release...

Who knows...someone at TT did not like it?...however, the rounded "look" was actually used by Takatoku on other VF-1S toys in their lineup, including their vinyl figure collection and their Henkei toys.......

It is a "pre-production" VF-1S....it happens all the time.....even today Here is another example, this time with the SDF-1....the SDF-1 in this Takatoku promo poster is a pre-production toy that differs from the final product design that made it onto store shelves..... ..and perhaps the most famous "non-production" prototype used in Takatoku promotional materials was the VF-1J, seen here on this Takatoku promo poster and on various other ads and promo materials of the era before the toy was actually released.... The VF-1S prototype featured in the ad you posted is also used in this Takatoku promo poster... ...a close-up.... ....it is shown in it's final version on this Takatoku promo poster....
