  1. She cancled her AnimeOD appearence? No wonder they haven't listed when her supposed solo concert is. That removes one reason for me to go I suppose. Though I doubt I'll make it anyway.
  2. I know Anime SkyScraper plans on ripping it, when I don't know.
  3. Those are pretty nice. I love Orguss. I just wish someone would pick up where US Renditions left off.
  4. Patlabors a great show. It's one of my absolute favorites. I agree that it seems rather underappreciated. I've never seen a show that can handle such a wide veriety of genres like it can. I too was saddened by You Inoue's passing(two years as of tomorrow). Kanuka and Goto are my favorites, though the entire cast is great. Thanks for pointing out the cool website, Mechamaniac.
  5. That's been floating around for some time. looks interesting though.
  6. I watched the raw. It's not bad, though I doubt that there's anything to reddem it to you guys though.
  7. Close enough. It represents the entire staff at Sunrise.
  8. WTF! That's just awful. Seriously, that's messed up. Yes, let's turn all our cartoon heritage into cheap disposable entertainment for kids. What, did Hanna Babara's vault run dry for ways to exploit classic characters? As for that article, does that guy even know what 'anime style' is. It certainly isn't that angular mess.
  9. Hmmm, I suck at coming up with questions. Hajime Yatate is a pseudonym for whom?
  10. That is nuts. Then again people have paid money for tiny X-wings made out of paper-clips. I have a MPC Max myself. I paid about 35 bucks for it brand new at a con. I wouldn't pay a dime more. That's only due to the Yamato 1/48's being sold for 160 bucks. I still am looking for a good price on those. Geez, some people are just ignorent.
  11. Actually, I think BSG's FX surpass B5's. B5 always looked digital and fake. They were often too colorful. BSG is more understated and realistic looking. I love the camera work in those scenes as well. As for Helo, there's a reason why the Cylons did what you're talking about. Just keep watching.
  12. Cobbled together from verious other posts I've made on this show. Coming into the miniseries as a fan of the original, I had mixed reactions. I didn't care for the new Starbuck or Apollo, while I love that they merely reinvisioned the artstyle. I love the fact the the Galactica actually still looks like the Galactica. Seeing the series, I've noticed that all the characters have smoothed out rather nicely. I actually have no problem with any of them now. The series has basically settled every problem I had with the miniseries. The only complaint I still have is the 'Cylons being created by man' part. It's rather overdone in Science Fiction now-a-days. I treat this seperately from the classic series. Enough is different to warrent the remake yet the same to keep it still 'Battlestar Galactica'. I love this show for different reasons than the original. This has to be one of the best reimaginings I've ever seen. After watching 33 and Water, I was impressed. The characters had leveled off well, the plotlines don't have the chessy gimicks the miniseries had now and then ("just a few more minutes...."), and the mood and feel wass coming together. I can honestly say that I enjoyed those 90 minutes more than all I've seen of Enterprise(which isn't much). Seeing the rest, I can honestly say that this show kicks Enterprise's @$$, but that probably wouldn't be too hard. I haven't been this into a full space opera like this since B5. After seeing the season finale, I have this to say. Do not watch this episode until 14 is available. The cliff hanger at the end is probably going to drive me nutsfor the next seven months wondering whether they'll fully open the can of worms they've presented. My cubits says no, but one never knows. Not to mention all the other loose ends floating around. I swear, if this turns out like another John Doe (a show I was really into that was cut short before any answers and a major development had occured) I'm going to be really fracking pissed. Here's to the hope of a really good second season to come. The last few episodes of this one were far better than the miniseries itself. It's all coming together. You're all in for quite a ride. It lags a bit in the middle, but hits full thottle around episode 10.
  13. Considering that the average anime fan goes, "huh?" when I tell them what my favorite anime is, I doubt there's even a thought to bringing it here.
  14. I remember that. They even went so far as to put next episode previews on the soundtrack.
  15. I feel truly blessed to not think very highly of FF7. It saves me the time of watching trailers, and the cash it'll take to buy the DVD eventually. What can I say, I played FF7 six years ago, and it was my first RPG. As such, I tend to hold above others. I honestly can't remember most of the details, only that I enjoyed it emensely(and much more so than FF8). After seven, six places as my favorite FF. Regardless of this being based on FF7, it still looks to be an excellent film.
  16. I knew of the figure, and guessed as much. Thanks for the info. Any idea what the "Buster Cowboy" is? That just sounds odd.
  17. The more I see of this film, the more I want it. It's like they're teasing us.
  18. I'd love to get those shirts. At Fanime last year, someone was selling anime shirts for a buck each. I got a nice Evangelion one, and then I found an old Animecon 91 T. Needless to say, the moment I saw Noriko on the front, I had to get it, even if it is too small for me. Strange thing is, I don't recognize half of what's listed on the back of the Buster Beam shirt. Buster Homerun, Buster Tomahawk, Buster Ring, and strangest of all, Buster Cowboy? The official site has posted a new trailer for episode 2 of Diebuster. It has a Feb. 24 release date. Not that anyone here cares. Diebuster second episode trailer I've found that downloading the file seems to work if the link doesn't work off the bat. Apparently the single by Round Table goes on sale around the same time. Whatever that means. Man I hope Fanime has some dealers with this stuff this year.
  19. Amen to that. As for the list, its a popularity contest. Looks more like a "what's on TV at the moment" list. Reminds me why I don't read Newtype USA. I'd rather buy the Japanese version, and I can't read Japanese.
  20. Personally, I liked it. Sure, the ceiling sucked as it was too low at times. All the "protect" missions were damn near impossible, and I still haven't gotten one medal when I've greatly exceeded requirements. I found no use for Battroid mode, sticking mostly to GERWALK. Still, It's easy to ignore the Robotech timeline, has a lot of play time, and fun missions, and can be played as a Macross game, so that's a plus. For ten bucks, I say go for it.
  21. All I can say is that I hope for the best. That, and for the love of God, hurry up Roy! www.savedisney.com Save Disney - From itself. For all of us informed fans.
