  1. I appreciate it spykes The sub seems clear and very high quality to me. My thanks. As for the episode, it rocked as expected. Macross Zero does not dissappoint. I'll post more of my thoughts after work today.
  2. So the VF-0S Reactive Armor doesn't actually have as many missiles as the VF-1 GBP. Interesting.
  3. Great stuff WJ! I was wondering when the next Nanashi update would make an appearance. The waiting was well worth it! THank you!
  4. Stream looks great. 60kb/s up and down.
  5. Damnit! That thing looks great! Oh the money, money, money
  6. I sure hope my pre-order means I'll get one now. I wouldn't want to wait until January.
  7. Sorry to dissapoint you guys, the cyclops eye isn't the result of the camera flash that is what the eye really looks like.. to read a full review, you may go to this link below. GREATTOYS.NET VF-1J 1/48 REVIEW - Malvin www.greattoys.net Of course. Yamato knows full well they need to give the fan community at least one legitimate flaw to bitch about
  8. Just checked out the good old "Ask John" feature at another of my regular stops, AnimeNation. The subject in this particular feature of Ask John deals with the "Golden Age" of anime during the mid 1980's. Macross gets a strong mention, with Do You Remember Love? being labelled one of the most respected anime films ever made. Always nice to see one's hobby described fondly by others. Check it out: Golden Age of Anime via Ask John at AnimeNation
  9. How about the 90% arm bend not present in the first releases of the VF-1A Hikaru & VF-1S Roy? Oh yeah, I forgot about that one!
  10. I must say I totally agree. While I'm not a fan of Macross 7, every Macross product Kawamori has had a hand in has both that familiar Macross theme with a welcome sense of originality and innovation. As someone who got into Gundam just a few years ago and has seen more than his fair share of the many series, movies, and OVAs, I find Gundam suffers from a simple re-run formula. I'm pleased that Macross maintains it's identity well, while constantly diving into new and different areas.
  11. A big thanks to you Graham. I can't wait for my 1/48 VF-1J Super after hearing all that good stuff. Yamato, you're going to break me!
  12. I agree completly with you on 0080 it is by far the best gundam series out there (I have seen all of em except the 2nd half of G gundam). It was what got me into gundam. It has superb characters done by macross' character artist. The plot is by far the best it shows what war does to PEOPLE not just a pilot fighting. And one of the most amazing things about it was IT HAD A GOOD DUB!!!!!!!! Yes, Haruhiko Mikimoto does do the character designs for Gundam 0080...the very same character designer we all know and love from Macross. As expected, the designs are fantastic. Also, Yutaka Izubuchi was in his prime during the making of Gundam 0080 and came up with some of the greatest mecha designs of his career for this series, even surpassing his work on Patlabor IMO. Gundam 0080 is just a phenomenal story. It's so good, the story actually trancends Gundam itself. You could make this story in any setting and it would work just as well because the core of the story utilizes such a profound, universal theme. Much like Macross, Gundam 0080 is primarly a war drama so you love the characters first and foremost. The mecha action and battles is just how the story is sold, but they are some of the best mecha battles to be seen.
  13. I'm a big Macross fan and I love SDF Macross, Macross Do You Remember Love?, Macross Plus, and Macross Zero. I've seen much of Gundam, including MSG Movie One, Gundam 0080, Gundam 0083, Gundam the 08th MS Team, Gundam Wing, Char's Counterattack, Gundam F-91, and a good smattering of many other Gundam series. Out of it all, I found the six-episode OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket to be an incredible series and by far the best dramatic show of any Gundam series. I'd definitely recommend it, though watching a lot of other Gundam would help you understand the series just a little better. Nonetheless, Gundam 0080 is one of the most independant, self-contained Gundam side stories in the main continuity of the Gundam animes. I can't recommend it enough. If you liked Macross Plus, there's a good chance you'll enjoy Gundam 0080.
  14. I wouldn't mind that. Gundam 0080 happens to be my favorite Gundam series of all Gundam series, OVAs, and movies that I've seen. Although, I'd prefer if Macross did things its own way and set out upon new territory like it most often has.
  15. Hehehe, yeah I'm hoping someone does this as well. I'm actually buying the VF-1J with FAST Packs, so I'll get a set of those new hands. But I'd like another set for my other 1/48 Valkyrie.
  16. Wow! Kinda neat, but really a novelty that I don't think I'd go for. Great idea nonetheless.
  17. More information is certainly needed. A new Macross series might be cool. Or they could just be doing a film version of Macross Zero. Gotta wait and see.
  18. Macross kicks Kill Bill with a big thruster filled foot. Kill Bill sucked, Macross rules. That is all.
  19. Damn, I love the Rafale. The french sure knew what they were doing when they built that beauty. The VF-0D reminds me of a plane similar to the Rafale. I loves it
  20. Anyone's guess is as good as another's, but consider this: OverTechnology has given the UN Spacy the Cyclops Cross-Dimension Radar system. The system has proved capable of detecting gravity emmissions, real time detection over light minutes, and the Cyclops can be used underwater...an enviroment that negates conventional radar systems. I'd say the Valkyries have little to worry about with Minovsky particles.
  21. Is that the model of the VF-0 or is that the planned look of a 1/48 scale transformable toy? It looks great!
