As much as I'd love a VF-17 from Hasegawa and would buy multiples, I probably don't see it happening. I think that they will stick wih the more popular VFs like the VF-11, VF-19Kai and perhaps VF-4. Graham

Ya know, I hope somebody at Yamato is paying attention to this thread and these auctions. If even a 1/100 scale YF-19 garage kit where the gunpod cannot attach in fighter mode and the hands have to be removed can till sell for nearly US$1,000, I think that's a pretty good indication that the market is ripe for a nicely sculpted YF-19 toy. Heh, wondering if I should sell off some Low Vis or something, so I can raise more money for the auction . At 30,000yen, I could still justify playing with and transforming the LS YF-19. If I end up paying 100,000yen, I think I'd be too scared to do any more than just display it for fear of breaking something so expensive. Graham

I'd say those were the US toys by Joyride Studios, not the Japanese ones. Joyride's set of three is teh colonial viper, cylon raider, and cylon centurion. The ships are about the size of a star wars action fleet. The Konami Japanese BSG toys are not due for release until March. Graham

Oh well, I lost the auction for the Liquid Stone YF-19, which ended last night at US$940!!!!!!! Slightly more than I was willing to pay, even if this is my new Holy Grail. Actually, let me modify my statement, it's slight more than I can afford to pay. I'd certainly be willing to pay that much if I could afford to . However, all is not lost as a second Liquid Stone YF-19 has turned up on Yahoo Japan Auctions, so I am bidding on this one now. While I'm glad another one is up for auction as it gives me a second chance to acquire it, it sort of pisses me of that not all the people at Wonder Fest who enterered the lottery to buy the Liquid Stone YF-19 were buying it because they are Macross fans, but rather just so they can sell it online to make a tidy profit from fans who are desperate to own one. Oh well, that's life I guess. Graham

Keanu Reeves NEW movie. A Scanner Darkly.

Didn't Ralph Bakshi's animated Lord Of The Rings also use Rotoscoping? Must be more than 20 years since I watched it, so my memory is a little hazy. Graham -
An overseas model commission could also be risky as well, as due to the fragile nature of models, even a well packed kit may not survive transit without some damage. Graham

Two ways. 1) When you post, you can attach 1 picture per post directly from your hard drive. When you are replying, just scroll down below the box where you type your reply and you will see something called 'File Attachments', which allows you to browse your hard drive and select a pic for attaching. 2) If you already have an imagine online, you can post it by clicking on the IMG button (located above the box where you type your reply) and pasting in the URL. OK, next week sounds like a good idea. Let me know which day is good for you. I should have some time on either Mon, Tue, Wed or Thur evening. I know that garage kit shop, I've bought a couple of kits from there in the past. Graham

If Hasegawa do make a VF-11 Fighter mode kit, how many times could they milk the molds with variants? Let's list the possibilities: - 1) VF-11B (Mac Plus). 2) VF-11B with FAST Packs (Mac Plus). 3) VF-11B with Atmospheric Boosters (Mac Plus) 4) VF-11C (Mac 7). 5) VF-11C with FAST Packs (Mac 7). 6) VF-11C with FAST Packs & Radome (Mac 7). 7) VF-11C with Atmospheric FAST Packs (Mac 7 - Operation Stargazer). VF-11D Jamming Birds (Mac 7). 9) VF-11B Ravens (VF-X2). Of course, I doubt they would really do that many and some of the above variants could be combined in a single kit, like Nos. 5 & 6 for example. Graham

Locating Region 2 (original Japanese) DYRL DVD
Graham replied to Hurin's topic in Movies and TV Series
I usually order my original R2 Japanese DVDs from CD Japan. They have DYRL in stock (click on link above). Graham -
You mean the '111 Richmond Centre'. Good shopping centre that, lots of cool shops there. Definitely interested in going to see him as soon as possible. I want to get my YF-19 built ASAP. Graham

Andy, Can you post pics of your VF-0D? Also, do you know roughly when he will be opening his shop? Graham

Wonderfest 2005 winter
Graham replied to Bariaburu Faita's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Hi Noel, So when can we see your Wonder Fest pics? Howard mentioned that you might have photos of something interesting from the Liquid Stone booth (not the YF-19). Graham -
Sounds quite reasonable and close to what my guy in Tai Po charges. OK, once your friend opens his shop please let me know as, I have a Hasegawa YF-19 that I want building in 'wheels up - flying' configuration. Oh, and if your guy can get word to Hasegawa, please let him know that Macross fans would really like an artbook of Tenjin's Hasegawa Macross covers. Graham

Ah...you're talking about dubbing........phew! For a moment, when I started reading this thread, I had nightmare visions of a live-action version with Michael Keaton in the lead role, wearing a fake pig nose. Graham

Andy, Do you mean Dengeki Hobby magazine or Hobby Japan magazine? the reason I ask is that Hobby Japan does not have a HK edition, whereas Dengeki Hobby does. Oh and FYI the April Japanese editions of both mags should be out in HK either today or tomorrow. Anyway, great news about the Hasegawa VF-11. I hope your new friend is not yanking your chain . If it's true I hope they will release versions with both the Macross Plus (VF-11B) and Macross 7 (VF-11C) type FAST Packs (different shape thrusters and different number of micro-missile launchers before anybody asks). Oh, and can you try to ask your friend if anymore Battroid kits are planned from Hasegawa, specifically YF-19, VF-0S & SV-51? I'm sure a YF-19 Battroid kit would sell well. Lastly, what sort of commission will your friend be charging for build a Hasegawa? Graham

Very well written post Fortress_Maximus. Graham

Doubtful you would find it cheaper here in HK. 1st or 2nd edition Yamato YF-19 toys are pretty hard to find now and sell here for about HK$1,900 (US$243). Graham
-
Yes, it is the Liquid Stone 1/100 scale YF-19 and all 10pcs sold at Wonder Fest were sold assembled. It has not been made available in unassembled form. Graham

Of course a VF-1D needs round TV hands. translucent gereen visor sounds fantastic. Graham

Hasegawa has made changes from the lineart for just about every single one of their Macross models. We had quite a heated thread discussing this point in the model forum recently. They are still fantastic kits though, even if not following kawamori's designs 100%. Graham

The YF-19 still has the two lasers in the wing roots. Graham
