  1. Here's another page from the Frontier article in the new issue of Great Mechanics. I hope it contains some new info about further differences between the VF-17 and VF-171. I'll try to get all the other pages scanned in soon. Graham
  2. ???????? If it says the VF-25 is even faster than the YF-21 & YF-19, how are you reading into it that the VF-25 has the same engine cooling problems? Graham
  3. Hah, that's cus' I used the large scanner at work. Graham
  4. Just picked up the new issue of Great Mechanics. As Kresphy had mentioned a few posts back, there's quite a long article on Macross Frontier. No new pics that we haven't seen already, but quite a lot of text. Hopefully somebody can translate it and there will be some interesting new info there. There's also quite a lot of lineart of older VFs in the 'VF History section'. Again nothing really new though that isn't already in other art books. Here's scans of the first 8 color pages. Some of the corners are a bit blurry unfortunately, from where the book moved when I was holding it down on the scanner to try and get it as flat as possible. Graham
  5. Hopefully both. DVD, I'd buy it. BluRay, nope. Not planning to go down that road for many years until I'm dragged kicking and screaming. Graham
  6. I got into Macross beacuse of all the hot female Macross groupies lusting after my body! Nah, but seriously, it was the old Arii and Imai model kits that first got me into Macross back in 1983, when the kits were being imported into UK. The Takani box art and fantastic mecha designs blew me away. Made me want to see the anime they were from. I didn't actually see any Macross until 1986, when I first got to watch DYRL on LD. I was never exposed to (contaminated by ) Robotech and have only seen a handful of episodes. Graham
  7. I'll try doing another scan at 200dpi when I get home tonight to see if it looks any better. I really need to buy a new PC and scanner soon, as both are ancient and on their last legs, but the good lady wife won't approve the funding until they actually die. Paying the mortgage and saving for my son's education is really limiting my spending these days. Need a better paying job! Actually, I'm working two jobs as it is and still never seem to have enough money. Graham
  8. Heh, Aquarion aired in 2005! I swear all these newbs must think we live in a box shut off from all human contact, just waiting for them to come and enlighten us! Graham
  9. Good looks! And everybody know looking good is half the battle! Graham
  10. So has anybody (Alex, Renato, Sketchley) actually submitted any names? Graham
  11. The hobby mags basically just have the Wonderfest pics. Don't forget there is a fairly long lead time in print publishing, so it was never likely that this month's mags would show anything new or exciting that we haven't already seen. I would expect the really interesting pics to start appearing in the issues released towards the end of April. I've scanned the new Hobby Japan on page 28 or 29 of the Frontier news thread. Graham
  12. I have the white one. Graham
  13. Can anybody give a decent translation of this from the official MF Blog:- Graham
  14. Scanned at 400dpi. Would it look better at a lower resolution, say, 200dpi? My scanner is approaching 6 or 7 years old, so is probably due for replacement, as is my home PC. Graham
  15. Picked it up yesterday, but haven't watched it yet. So does it have doves? Graham
  16. So does anyboy know if these were all ready released at the last Wonder Fest about a month ago? Or are they going to be released at the next Wonder Fest in August? Graham
  17. Guys, Here's the scans from the latest issue of Hobby Japan Magazine (May 08 issue). Picturewise, nothing really new that we don't already know about. However, I think these are the biggest pictures we've seen of the Armored VF-25 so far. Hopefully, somebody can translate the text about the VF-25 and VF-171, in case here is so new info. Graham
  18. Wow, only just found out about these a couple of days ago. I gotta get me one of those 17s. Yes, while the fighter's nose is a bit too long, it's otherwise pretty amazing. I've always thought that you couldn't make a VF-17 toy with the bulky lower legs of the line art, while still keeping the fighter mode nice and sleek. The Experten versions seems to be a great compromise between battroid and fighter mode proportions. Certainly better than the Bandai 1/65 DX toy. Graham
  19. While not as catchy as 'Don't be late', the new song is growing on me. Can't wait to see the series opening animation. Graham
  20. Freakin' awesome! See trailer here. Yakuza, Ninjas, Tempura, Sushi, Chainsaws, Flying Guillotine, Drill Bra, Revenge! OMG, this movie has everything! I so want to see this. Hollywood, with your endless bland remakes eat your heart out! Graham
  21. All Bandai have to do is digitally add in some V antennas on the mecha and rename it as Gundam Frontier. GRaham
  22. You mean you didn't watch episode 1 of Frontier yet????? Graham
  23. Guys, Please don't quote the above pics anymore. Both the toy info and pics are old, old news already. Graham
  24. I have a feeling Bandai Visual (not Big West), is going to be pushing Frontier for an international release. We shall see. Graham
  25. While Yamato has the rights to make the VF-X2 version of the Konig Monster, I doubt that would affect Bandai's rights to make a Macross Frontier version of the Konig Monster. From what I understand, Big West grants the merchandising rights by series and scale, not by Mecha type. Graham
