Just to point out, the VF-X2 Ravens version is the VF-19A, which is identical to the YF-19, NOT the VF-19Kai. So if a toy was ever made of this, it would use Yamato's existing 1/60 scale YF-19 sculpt, not the newer VF-19Kai sculpt. As pointed out many times over the history of both AFM and Macrossworld, the YF-19/VF-19A and VF-19Kai/P/F/S are so diifent from each other as to be effectively complete redesigns. Possible canon variants for the VF-19Kai toy are: 1) VF-19P (Macross Dynamite 7). 2) VF-19S Emerald Force (Macross 7). 3) VF-19F Emeral Force (Macross 7). There are of course many non-canon variants from the VF-19 Master Files book that could be made into toys, although that is unlikely, as Yamato has so far shown no interest in doing color variations based on any of the Master Files paint schemes. Another more likely possibilty for VF-19 toy variants is Dengeki Hobby's 'Macross The Ride', if Yamato decided to and is able to get the toy licence. There are already three (possibly 4) VF-19 variants that they could do so far: 1) VF-19EF Caliburn. 2) VF-19EFs Caliburn (officers version). 3) VF-19ACTIVE Nothung. 4) VF-19E Macross Frontier/SMS use mass-produced version (unconfirmed?/unseen as yet). However, all the above Macross The Ride deisgns would require extensive retooling, perhaps up to 60% new parts, so this would be a big investment for Yamato. Graham

One would have thought that there isn't enough material yet to publish one book, let alone two by June! Graham

Interesting that a visual stealth system is listed in the specs of the YF-27-5, as well as the more standard active stealth system. I'd been wondering when the concept of visual stealth would be introduced in the Macross universe. Graham

And really, can we keep those horrible Robotech images out of this thread please. Apart from being terrible artwork, they have nothing to do with Macross The Ride. Graham

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Graham replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Although season 3 redeemed itself near the end, it still had far too many weak episodes near the start and particulaly in the middle. Hope season 4 is better and features more clones. Heck, even Rex was hardly in season 3. Anybody know when season 4 starts? Graham- 1217 replies

Pic in new issue of Dengeki Hobby shows rear landing gear. Looks long But, new CG pics show that wing tips fold in battroid mode in the anime, but not apparently on the DX, unless mistransformed. But no wingtip hinges visible in DX photos. Graham -

OMG! How did I miss those VF-17s after watching Macross Plus a zillion times since 1994 and spending countless hours freeze framing every mecha scene. And I'm supposed to be the biggest VF-17 fan. Shame on me! Graham -
Just looking at those pics. Typhoons are the sexiest planes flying IMO. The F-16 is now starting to look really old fashioned IMO. Graham

This topic moved by me to the model forum as it was originally posted in the toy forum, which is the wrong forum for a topic asking about model kits. Graham

I still want to know in the movie, whether while in fighter mode if the YF-29's twin beam cannons (the ones mounted between the tails in fighter mode), can rise up and swivel to shoot at targets in different directions, like the Tornado Pack's guns? Or are they fixed forward firing only in fighter mode? If not, it would seem to be a step backwards from the Tornado Pack! And yes, I realise they can likely swivel to point in different dirrections in battroid mode, but I am specifically asking about fighter mode, for those that have seen the movie. Certainly, in the PSP MTF game, having the Tornado Pack's twin beam cannons being able to shoot at targets in all directions while in fighter mode is a huge advantage, so it would seem strange if the YF-29 deleated that capability in fighter mode. But what does "fold-wave generation capabilities" actually mean? Does it mean the YF-29 can fold without the need for an external fold booster? Graham -
The specifications don't seem to mention the YF-29's twin dorsal mounted beam guns, unless they are the ones refered to in the translation as "Fold-wave Projector System". Graham
