  1. I'd say pretty much the same thing that goes on in Japan everyday. I have heard that they are going to send 1,000 non-combat troops to Iraq, though.
  2. Sooooo... he basically did what the Oscar Academy does every year and chose a bunch of winners that in no way reflect most of what popular choice was? Then again all awards are heavily swayed by the people judging unless it is a popular vote sort of thing... which most awards are not. No, he didn't basically do what the Academy does. The Oscar's are voted on my thousands of industry people, his awards are based on only one vote, his. Your analogy is just plain silly. The "popular vote" doesn't lead to the best result. Pure democracy doesn't work, it only leads to mob rule. I'm sure everybody here would vote for free 1/48 Valkyries if given the choice, but that doesn't exactly make sense, now does it? If the "popular vote" were used to vote for the Academy Awards, stupid movies like American Pie would be winning Best Picture.
  3. WTF? You chose what you liked, without any other input. That's lame, dude.
  4. That's fine, but we aren't talking about Lucas. We are talking about how these movies are released to retailers. The Special Edition of the Original Trilogy has ALWAYS been marked "Special Edition".
  5. Ya, they blew it on that one, though they did atleast list it as a rumor. Even AICN knew the story was bogus. The Star Wars movies usually break down into three groups: "Classic Trilogy" "Special Editions" "Prequels" I am guessing that the guy who reported this to TheForce.net knew enough to refer to them as the "Classic Trilogy", or he wouldn't have contacted them in the first place. Of course, it is VERY possible that the notice they received didn't specify either way. However, you would think that if they were the Special Editions, they would have been listed as so.
  6. "Classic Trilogy" always refers to the non-Special Editions. Star Wars community lingo.
  7. From TheForce.net: Classic SW DVD Release Info Tue, Dec 02, 03 01:12:42 AM EST Ender_Sai works for a major international music retailer and sent us this: Just following up information to your stories about the Classic Trilogy on DVD; our upcoming releases bulletin lists Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as being released by 20th Century Fox on November 4th, 2004. This information came to us via FOX themselves, so it's 99% reliable. One other note, prices won't be known for sure until approximately 3 months before release. And as of today they're listed as separate releases; there's no Star Wars trilogy box set listed though it will be released, presumably. I thought it was interesting as Indy isn't available separately. TheForce.net doesn't usually post crap, so I am guessing there is a possibility that there is some truth to this report. I'll post anything further on this news in this thread, and hope others will do the same, whatever they hear. This is good news, to say the least.
  8. Kawamori is recycling his Armored Core designs, I see.
  9. This is the second time this OLD news has been posted in the past week...
  10. Kawamori sold out when he made Macross 7. He turned Macross into every other anime show. Thank God for Plus and Zero.
  11. AICN said this was just a rumor, and most likely false.
  12. Ya think you're pretty smart, dontcha Trebeck? What with your dago mustache and your greasy hair!
  13. I've seen Zardoz. Its not as bad as Highlander II. NOTHING is as bad as Highlander II.
  14. Highlander II may be the worst movie ever made, period.
  15. It didn't do well enough to warrent a big budget animated film.
