  1. Now that's funny!
  2. You are certainly correct there, DVD sales is where their real money is made these days. They no longer get anywhere near the amount of people going to theaters as they were 30 years ago. Modern box office numbers are drastically overrated because of the highly inflated ticket prices.
  3. DVD won't be replaced anytime soon. Its too widely adopted at this point, people are not yet ready to switch over their entire collection when they just did so in the past 5 years.
  4. Except the music industry doesn't put 200-400 million into producing, marketing, and releasing an album. This was Universal's widest release in number of screens ever. Which is half of what they were expecting. 7 other films had a bigger opening this year, with Star Wars and Harry Potter doing twice the business. It was expected to do LotR type numbers, and its not even close. You have to realize, they have to do 300 million+ just to break even. The budget was 200+, but throw in marketing and everything else that goes with the release, its over 300 million.
  5. The weekend isnt over to say that just yet. Also I think the film release planning was poor. The date falls on finals week for most schools. 353425[/snapback] As opposed to Star Wars coming out at the end of Spring Semester? By all reports Kong is under-performing at the Box Office by a good amount.
  6. Jesus God, I was 21 when FFVII came out!
  7. My AnimEigo discs are in perfect condition...
  8. I loved IX up until the last disc. In my opinion, they completed dropped the ball and blew the game then and there. Now that's just a really silly thing to say, isn't it? LOL, "true fans".
  9. Its very odd to hear Minmay sounding like the original, but in english. I really can't tell from just those few clips whether Mari did or didn't pull it off, though. However, I won't be purchasing this set.
  10. If I can't get a Hudson, i'm not interested.
  11. I'm one of those who has been with the Final Fantasy series since the very beginning. I've played and completed 1-10 (emulated III), and Tactics. Personally, I LOVED VII. I also HATED VIII. II was one of the worst games I have ever played, and III is, in my mind, the great forgotten gem of the series. The "old school gamers hate VII" myth is just that, a myth. Also, liking VII doesn't make you a moron or a "newbie". Ok, well, that's my rant for today.
  12. Hey, don't look now, but Kong is bombing at the box office.
  13. I would kill for a decent True Lies DVD release.
  14. I have to disagree. Watching Predator now can at times be very hard on the eyes. Dutch and company come across more like "special ed" than "special forces".
  15. Which explains why the list makes no sense whatsoever. Its funny, I didn't know anyone actually used MSN...
  16. Considering Michael Mann was the Executive Producer for the entire run of the TV show, I would tend to think he knows what makes it Vice and what doesn't.
  17. Why? XII has an amazing team behind it, I fully expect it to be one of the best in the series.
  18. Pitt/Smith would have been a disaster. I like Pitt alot, but he is NOT Crockett. Will Smith's problem is that he plays Will Smith in every movie. As far as I am concerned, I have no interest in seeing anything else he does at this point.
  19. Doing anything other than what Mann is doing with Vice would result in another horrid TV show-to-movie episode, which would bomb just like every other one has. Mann is clearly taking a very serious approach to it. No camp, no gags, no in-jokes... just a hard core vice cop movie. I LOVED Heat, and enjoyed the hell out of Collateral, and I'd expect no less of an effort out of Mann on Vice. The last thing I wanted to see was some sort of hack effort making a cheesy cop film, starring any number of the half assed "comedic actors" who seem to get alot of work in Hollywood these days.
  20. The Agent, married? HAHAHAHA, I was actually worried for a second, before I came to my senses.
  21. Shawn's hands were too small, anyways.
