1. I highly doubt they left expensive CGI shots on the cutting room floor when they are already on a tight budget.
2. The show certainly has you wanting to come back for more every week.
3. No, the real Six clearly states in that scene that their one true God is a forgiving God (which goes against what imagined Six says).
4. I didn't get the whole Apollo thing. That was out of nowhere. Loved the Battlestars smoking the Basestars. The whole thing with Cain ended up very anti-dramatic. Leaves me feeling indifferent. No redemption for her character, and no sense of loss, cause, well... no one liked her. She just didn't affect the fans like the original Cain did. Baltar, well... can we now assume Six was simply a product of a man losing his mind? There was something very "A Beautiful Mind" about the scene when Six disappears. And am I the only one getting a "Replicant" vibe from the Cylons? Created by man, no history, no past, no sense of self... but longing for some meaning to life, looking for their own identity. And I am also getting a Catholic/Protestant feel for what seems to be two different Cylon factions. One thinks God forgives all, the other thinks God punishes if you don't repent. And the exposure to humans (and their culture??), well... certainly not cut and dry for them, is it?
5. This is only a horror if you are one of the unfortunate few actually go to se video game movies. The majority of humans on the planet, well... we simply don't care.
6. I don't find Six attractive at all.
7. I've never seen Friends.
8. The one thing you really need to keep in mind is that its not a sequel, its a re-imaging. Its still a homage piece, just of a different era of anime.
9. They don't teach tact at the academy.
10. Ok, I think I found the biggest WTF spoiler image yet. SPOILERS http://galactica.emedian.net/episode/2.12/...s/2BATeaC05.jpg
11. Oh, by the way, that's not Starbuck pointing that gun at Cain...
12. I'm still torqued off how they have handled Cain. They took Cain from being a living legend to a war criminal. And, maybe I am wrong here, but can't the frigging PRESIDENT OF THE 12 COLONIES have some say over her own military? Yes, I know enforcing it is another matter, but come on. That said, I loved the episode. How can you not wannt to see more after that? Oh, and I still hate the Baltar character. Ship him off to the Cylons already. And the Blackbird is still hideous looking. My 8 year old brother could come up with a better design that that, and he's a moron.
13. Chasing Amy and Swingers make for good back to back viewing.
14. The people around SCEA don't think the PS3 will be seen in the US until the Fall.
15. Re-read it. 12th word. This is in episode 17. I didn't expect to see it there. A clear departure from the original show.
16. IMO Dr.Strangelove is one of the funniest movies ever made. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Graham 357293 There are some people who need dick & fart jokes to make them laugh. Then there are those of us who appreciate and love dry humor, witt, sarcasm, satire, and just plain old dark humor. If you love American Pie type movies, you won't like Dr Strangelove. Personally, I think Peter Sellers is one of the very best comedic actors who ever lived. If you can appreciate a movie like Being There, you are ok in my book.
17. I agree, The Matrix is total shite in my book.
18. YOU like Jimmy Stewart!??? Next you are going to tell me you like the Mets. 357103 Cary Grant is actually my favorite actor of all time. I love Katharine Hepburn, as well. I love old film, what can I say?
19. 357091 This is still below projections, and won't make up for the losses of the past year. Kong is a hit, but not a huge hit, and certainly not what they expected it to do.
20. The description of Episode 17 completely changes my view on the second half of the season. I don't quite now how I feel about this revelation yet.
21. Easy Rider is a flat out horrid movie. Citizen Kane is what it is because it changed the way movies looked forever. What Orson Welles did with shots and angles has influenced every director that has come since. No single other movie in the history of film has had the influence that Citizen Kane has. Personally, I adore Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorite actors.
22. What, no Buster Machine No.3?
23. Its been 26 years since his last great work, Apocalypse Now. Sure, he had success with Godfather Part III and Dracula, but he hasn't been able to dupilcate the real success and power that he had in from the early 70's to early 80's.
24. I LOVE Akira, but then again, I've been through all 2,000 some pages of the manga. Definitely changes your viewing of the movie. My 2 cents: avoid Macross II. Its like the Star Wars Christmas Special of the Macross universe. Officially, it doesn't exist. Just for giggles, the order is as follows: Macross Zero Super Dimension Fortress Macross Macross Flashback 2012 Macross Plus Macross 7 Macross The Movie: Do You Remember Love? is a dramatic retelling of the original series.
25. Maybe because it was hokey, poorly directed, and violent to the point of being flat out absurd. And please, lets not get into the whole "faithful to the Gospels" thing. The only thing it was faithful to was the movie Gibson wanted to make out of it. Nothing more, nothing less. This is all outside the point of this thread. I don't hold Gibson down to one film he directed, and I thought the picture posted above was a good example that Gibson is the same old jokester he has always been. That, and it gave me a godo laugh. If this is going to become some discussion on The Passion, I'd prefer this thread be locked. There picture is up for all to see, no need for further comment if its to be off topic (or lead to a discussion that may turn very uncomfortable).
