Battlestar Galactica Discussion

How can one say bye bye to Starbuck? They spend all this time and most of this episode building up something greater for her. Do you honestly think that's it? I mean, come on. BTW, Baltar is getting the noose. Just wait, its coming. -
Yes, time to wake this thing back up. The Armory is here, let's see who you are! Me: http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#charact...th&n=Glavil

Another thumbs up episode. If only we had had more like the past few episodes.... -
The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0

Correct me if I am wrong, Keith, but were you not the sole person drumming up this bad audio in episode 1 nonsense? Yes, going back, it does indeed seem to be the case. -

Reading through the AoD thread, the reported "audio issue" seems to be a totally false report. Several people investigated, and no one else found this problem. Its my understanding that outside of the change in music, the audio in the R1 is identical to the R2 release. -

Didn't really notice the tinny audio, but the video definitely is grainy. Noticeably so. And it doesn't look natural. I'd go as far as saying they screwed up the video. Also, the subtitles in many cases leave something to be desired. -

I'm used to the original version as well, its all I have known for what, 16 or 17 years? But it doesn't detract from the scene or my enjoyment of the episode. The way I originally heard this reported, you would have thought George Lucas had some hand in it. -

Dunno, but it fit in just fine. -

Still doesn't change the fact that it doesn't really effect the scene at all. After all this build up about it, all these people complaining, it turned out to be a huge non-event. -

My copy arrived just a bit ago. About the change in music... really, what they used isn't out of place at all. It doesn't distract from my enjoyment of the episode one bit. Its not Greedo shooting first by any means. -

Thumbs up for an episode not tangled up in the nonsensical plot. -
Wait wait... Dangaioh had a story? I've never seen the butchered Manga release, but the US Renditions release couldn't have been much better.

Battlestar Galactica Discussion

I wonder if I would have not been happier now if the series had been more of what was in that last episode than "who is going to be a Cylon this week" and "The Cylons want to kill us~>make peace with us~>kill us~>breed with us~>kill us~>make pea...". I liked this episode because it didn't reek of the "we really don't know where we are going with all of this" mess that has plagued the show for so long. -

I am guessing if the effort is made, the audio from the R0 disc for episode 1 can be use to replace the audio in the R1 release. -

This episode didn't work for me because I had no idea where all those people came from. Like, surprise, we have refugees! Did I miss something? -

I'm waiting to be let down by another sub-standard Macross production. I can't believe its been over a decade since Plus was released. -

Except for the Wii, and wow, check out all the positive press it is getting.

Bring a PC gamer, really, I am totally with you on that. Fact is, when these consoles come out, they are all taking a loss on every unit sold. When you get right down to it, Sony's problem is the price tag.
-
Sony is already taking a big loss with what they are selling the PS3 for now, and BR is more likely to end up being the next Laserdisc than it is the next DVD. All I see are "if's", and Nintendo is already getting it done.

IMDB has Frank Welker voicing Megatron. He was the original voice of Megatron. Is this information correct?

You are assuming that these multi-console games are developed with just one console in mind to begin with. That's just not true, especially in the case of EA. On the other hand, EA has stated the following: "Each title will remain true to the hallmarks of its franchise but is being designed to maximize the power of the Wii hardware and take full advantage of the uniqueness and innovation of its one-of-a-kind controller." and "Once we started to experiment with Madden on Wii, there was an explosion of innovation. Everyone in the studio is energized by the creative opportunity afforded by both the hardware and controller. By reaching into our catalogue, we are able to bring a fresh and distinctive experience to some of EA's most popular franchises. Creatively, the game play possibilities are staggering and endless." Developers love the Wii, the press loves the Wii, and judging by sales and player reactions, they love the Wii. I haven't owned a Nintendo console is 10 years, but I am seriously considering picking up this one sometimes this year. This is coming from a PSX/2 owner for the past decade, who has NO interest in Sony's latest offering.
