  1. That's sad.. really. FFXI IS a roleplaying game after all. Guess no one there's ever heard of it. Glad you guys showed 'em a little of that strange phenomenon called.. .. roleplaying. I mean.. players aren't supposed to do THAT, are they?? WTF?
  2. Because the person who's giving them good advice probably isn't higher level than they are, and they don't have official leadership of the group. I mean, hey.. isn't that what matters most? <_<
  3. And my friend still wonders why I have a problem with the party system. <_
  4. Agreed, totally. Especially with what she said about not being able to do anything on your own in the game. I've been griping about that since day one.. yet a friend of mine just says it's because I'm missing the point of playing a MMORPG and that I'm anti-social. No. I'll say it again... Playing in a party is fine. NEEDING a party to get anywhere is not. The game effectively penalizes you for not playing with others, and that flat-out sucks. FFXI is a good effort by SquareEnix, considering this is their first attempt at an online game, but forcing players to party in order to make reasonable progress or get anything done is a major flaw in my opinion.
  5. That's a really tough call. Really. If I had to choose one, it would be my 1/48 Focker VF-1S. I've waited for something like that for years. My Masterpiece Convoy is tied with it, pretty much.
  6. Figured I'd start a thread for once. Anyway, I'm working on building my little 10th level Black Mage. It was tough in the beginning, but it's gotten better as I've learned stronger spells. I can see the Black Mage shaping up to be a real heavy hitter later on. I'll probably go Warrior after I hit 30th as a Black Mage, then Dark Knight.. with Black Mage as my sub. Big swords and black magic. What's not to like? How are the rest of you doing?

    Another newbie.

I agree with Evil Jesus there. Kevin (Valkyrie Exchange), Tamim (TMPanime.com) and Will (Blasto Toys) all run reputable e-stores and I'm sure any one of them can provide you with first-rate products and service. Stick to the 1/55's if you want, but trust me.. the 1/48's are beautiful. Quite worth the money in my opinion. But again, the choice is yours.

I don't think there are any real problems beyond that hinge. Just treat it with care and don't use excessive force. The 1/48 Valkyrie isn't as rock-solid as a 1/55 Bandai or Takatoku, but it's not fragile either. It'll handle reasonable play and regular transformation just fine. Definitely pick one up, though. You'll be glad you did.
  9. Heh. Right. You sissy.
  10. Please don't soil Macross with Shatner-isms.
  11. danster.. Pull the button backward slightly, it'll click.. and the light goes on.
  12. The 1/48 VF-1J was on the ballot, yes.
  13. I wouldn't mind getting a set of the 1/48 anime style hands for my VF-1S. Anyone know the part numbers?
  14. I'm The Guy Without A Title.
  15. Happy New Year to all of you. My very best wishes to you and those close to you. 2003.. thank you and goodbye. Welcome, 2004. We look forward to the good things you have in store. To all MacrossWorlders.. let's enjoy the ride, shall we?
  16. Cool. You look dangerous.
  17. I didn't get anything. I'll probably pick something up for myself, sooner or later.
  18. 28.00789% - Total Geek Yay.
  19. Right now I've got SDF Macross in my PS2. I tried out Gundam: Encounters In Space, too. My favorite game this year? I don't know. I enjoyed several.
  20. Yeah. Bears will make Graham talk. Really.. they will.
  21. I'd like to know how the rest of you managed to get the cockpit instrument panel stickers on. Those things would end up being incredibly thin and prone to tearing after cutting them out. Toothpicks? Tweezers? Did you disassemble the fuselage? I haven't done my instrument panel yet.
  22. The Empire Strikes Back. Go Vader.
  23. Titles are good. Bring them back, please. Thanks.
  24. My first Valkyrie was a 1/55 Takatoku VF-1S, from Toys N Joys here in Honolulu, Hawai'i. I scraped together my paper route money and bought it for $37.95. It's long gone, but I have a Bandai re-issue to remind me.
