  1. Yeah it's a mess of a design but for some reason its finally caught my attention. I had heard that originally the Matchbox VF1 and the hovertank were supposed to have full transformation but it just didnt make it to the final design. That plane cost $65 new when I bought it back in the day; a lot of money today (IMO), but a fortune back then...
  2. Filler or not, allow me to say that I absolutely hated chapter 6. Annoying characters galore, with the only worthy part of the episode being the appearance of the T65s...
  3. I would hold on to that piece also. Looks like you weren't the only one with Fokker aspirations for their '55 1S; back in '99, when I finally got on to the internet, I bought a Bandai Strike that had been hand painted to Roy stripes as well. I cant say I blame you guys for doing so, Roy is the man! BTW, pardon my ignorance but I havent been into the toy scene for a long time. Bandai IS planning to release a '48 Roy DX, right? I might come out of self imposed toy buying exile to buy that for sure...
  4. Whatever happened with it? If you sold it, I might have bought it on ebay some years ago...
  5. I've given up on figures having accurate face sculpts. That Solo figure is pretty good, though...
  6. I'm so out of touch with the toy world that I didn't even know that Toynami had their own figures. I'll look into that. Edit: looks like there are some new figures in the near future but they measure in at 4.25"; don't know if that would fit into the cockpit, as the WWII pilot in there now barely measures up to 4" and even he's a tight fit. I see some older Toynami figures going for pretty high prices to me. By now I would've figured all of the Robotech toys would be sold for mere pennies, but I guess I'm not the only one on a nostalgia trip...
  7. I stumbled on my old Matchbox/HG VF1 in my storage unit and felt compelled to bring it home. I just bought a booster unit, GU11, racks and missiles for it; although I'm having a friend of mine 3D print extra tips for the missiles since I'm missing a few. I don't have a correct pilot because I refuse to pay what those Matchbox figures go for (especially a Roy Fokker one), so one of my WWII pilots is filling in for now lol. Maybe I'm going nuts in my old age, but thirty four years later I'm suddenly enjoying this fugly thing lol...
  8. Apples and oranges. Those luxury places are peddling ferraris and Lambos, exclusive handbags and designer suits into the hundreds of thousands of dollars for the well heeled. We commoners in this forum are salivating over a mostly plastic toy that a very small percentage of the global population cares about that costs a little under $300. Not really the same thing and thus the level of inattention and lack of service...
  9. Good heavens. Talk about the most underwhelming, anticlimactic, weightless movie to ever end a grand story. Oh well, at least the T70 has a new paint scheme to collect. Personal ranking of the movies: #1 Empire #2 Rogue One #3 Hope #4 ROTS #5 screw everything else...
  10. Lol. At the end of the day, with over 40 years of fandom and expectations, this movie was never going to have it easy, but Abrams just guaranteed the Disney Wars trilogy to be as unlikable as possible...
  11. Nice trailer for sure. I just hope it doesn’t represent the only good parts of the movie...
  12. I decided the exact same thing during the first two episodes; the pace of the story just drags and they could've done the whole thing in one three hour movie or something...
  13. Cant be worse than Discovery. If I could sit through that I could probably endure another Trek reboot film...
  14. For the kind of money that thing will be asking for, I'd better be able to go into orbit with it in a fighter mode that's PERFECT looking...
  15. Need to see more fighter mode pics; for me it's all about the fighter mode, to which the '60 Yamato does perfectly, IMO...
  16. Three hours of fan service and not even a peek at Elizabeth or Scarlett's boobs. But at least they were consistent in keeping Carol Denvers as useless as ever... D+...
  17. I know I'm a about a year late, but that's a beautiful rendering...
  18. Movie was summarily a very "blah" experience to me, but then again I don't see it as anything but introducing Carol Danvers for the April money shot in Endgame; I just wish they would've picked another actress for the role. I mean....this woman is supposed to be the heroine who derives her power directly from the Tessaract and is somehow going to defeat Thanos and undo his deeds, yet they cast a woman who is so plain, so basic in her delivery and appearance that I could expect to run into her likeness as a waitress at a truck stop somewhere. Carol Danvers needs to be fiery, unforgettable and beyond beautiful-GORGEOUS even, just as Gal Gadot was for Wonderwoman. Instead they cast Brie Larson who comes off as the most basic girl you could ever meet. Ah well....
  19. SOC for sure, although the poseability is lost on me because I leave them as lions and sitting on their butts. I have my original Matchbox Lion and Vehicle Voltron but they're around for sentimental reasons; that's it.
  20. I know I'm a day late and a dollar short but...where did they find all of the people to man all of those ships of the EDF? Wasn't the population of earth reduced to a fraction of what it was before the planet bombs? Did the time fault allow for the remaining population to have lots and lots of sex and thus adequately crew the fleet in just three years? Finally, where are the Chogokin DN and Andromeda toys?
  21. I bet most, if not all will not remain that way. This is the MMU after all, and their style of mass destruction with no real consequences or casualties hasn't changed over the years...
  22. I am SUCH a fan of 2199 and it disappoints me to see that 2202 is an incoherent, uninspiring story. Considering how far into the series they've gotten it's not going to change. All I have to look forward to now is the obligatory ship combat/demolition derby and a Chokogin release of the 2202 Andromeda. C'est la vie...
  23. I don't know about you guys but TRU has not been relevant to me for a long time; probably right around the POTF Star Wars toy release in the late 90's. If I buy anything these days it's online so I can't say I'd miss these stores. Lotsa memories for sure, though...
  24. The entire Finn and Panda Express (sorry I don't remember her worthless character's name) sub plot was completely unnecessary, unless at 2:45 in the morning when I saw the movie I missed a critical detail of their adventure that says otherwise. I do remember a forced political statement criticizing wealthy people, though. It's such a glaring flaw in the movie that I can't believe they didn't have a better way to handle Finn's character. Honestly, they should've just left him in a coma. So, since Abrams and crew are only intent on re-hashing the original trilogy and not coming up with anything remotely original, will there be a new-style Jabba the Hutt and Sand Barge in the next movie? Inquiring minds want to know...
