Yes, thats the left arm-- just treat the valk as you would a human. You can also get replacements from OverDrive (gotta pay for shipping though). I just for a 0A for cheap... hopefully its not broken!

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3
edwin3060 replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
That picture makes the intake/hip guns area look quite gappy... I hope it all locks together rather than how it is done on the model! -
Hmm I never think that anything posed head on really looked realistic or good. After all, you'd almost always want to minimise your frontal area to the enemy, so the side on pose makes more sense. To each his own though!
-
Ahh well, VF100s to the rescue. The good thing about such toy series is that the more popular ones (like the VF-1, YF-19 etc) can help pay for the less popular ones (VF-4). Else we would never see them at all! (Outside of resin kits)
-
Well, whether it looks nicer or not is a matter of personal taste I guess. Like you said, if you want to enhance the look, just do some panel lining, which is pretty easy.
-
But demand for the VF-4 seems to be higher than for the Kakizaki VF-1! (Granted, production costs for Kakizaki are wayyy lower since they use the same moulds as other VF-1s) At the very least Hasegawa should release a kit.
-
Not sure how likely Macross Frontier valks will appear in Revoltech-- usually Bandai has its toy lines pretty well monopolized. The next best option would be the VF100s line.

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
edwin3060 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yep, hopefully the fact that Bandai canned the whole Perfect Transformation to gain more durability pays off. -
There are more than enough threads intimately dissecting each and every toy Yamato has produced. Go read them instead of expecting to be spoon-fed.
-
No I'm refering to the panel lining, or engraving as you call it. I think the thinner panel lines are one of the improvements that Yamato has made (and Graham has stated as such as well in his 1/60 v2 review) making the toys more model-like/life-like. If you like the thicker panel lines though, I guess you can get a scribing tool to deepen them? They should show up much better then!

1: Head rolling, like happens in many countries, may satisfy the bloodlust of the populace but never accomplishes anything-- People who were directly negligent were punished, what more do you want? A great symbolic gesture that makes you feel better but doesn't actually solve the situation, or may make the situation worse because the newbies have to be trained? Every prison can be broken out of, one escapee out of hundreds is actually an amazing figure. 2&3: You already admitted that it was bad in hindsight, no one could have predicted (in 2006) what would happen this year. Also, there are GST rebates for stuff like rice and other daily necessities, so the tax is not as regressive as you make it out to be. Not to mention the money the Government is able to hand out to the poor through means like NSS-- effectively the Government is taking from the rich and giving to the poor, except more well hidden so it wouldn't chase rich people away! 4: Dude-- look around you... do you see any investing firms which are making Capital gains nowadays? How can you admit to the global economic situation and yet expect that our investments will be insulated from it? 5: Might be cold but it is true. Also, the IRAS is working out a repayment scheme. 6: Casinos were a pragmatic business decision-- now that the economy (and Casinos) are failing, the Government is specifically not helping them out-- again, this was the right decision in 2006 that doesn't seem so good now. How can that be blamed on the Government? Heh be thankful for that!!

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
edwin3060 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Low, since the fins are all made of the same material, and the cost of the mold is spread over all the parts, while you have to employ quite a few people to assemble the parts (granted, they already have people in assembly for the rest of the toy. Still, this toy is already hitting the 50 dollar mark as it is, I figure the Bandai folks had to get their toy below a target cost and this was their solution. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

Long lost bastard son? I thought he was a clone? -
Isn't this an improvement rather than a bad thing? We need reviews/more pics for that 1S!

Macross variable fighter/mecha pose thread

Nice... looks like someone couldn't wait for the Hikaru 1S to come out, eh? -
Whether you're rich, or you're poor, its always nice to have money. My personal wishlist as of now includes the SV-51 Nora, VF-1J, a YF-21 (with a fold booster set for it), a VB-6 (in preparation for the Bandai VF100 line), the DX VF-25 (all four!) and the 1/100 VF-25. Luckily my wishlist is slightly more spread out, with the DX line and the VF100s line not out yet...

+1000. When Gundam SEED was first released I was buying every single HG 1/144 kit that was coming out. I finally burnt out about halfway through SEED Destiny and now I have about 10 HG kits that I haven't even started-- those will probably end up in my spare parts/kitbash bin. The whole experience (along with other developments in life, like a girlfriend ) turned me off model kits for about 2 years until my VF-25S kit, which was just too beautiful for me to ignore, which I just completed. So pace yourself, and only go for the kits that you really want! P.S. This is assuming that you are satisfied with your own level of kitbuilding/painting etc. Otherwise, get some simple and cheap kits which you are fairly interested in to practice your skills first. Aircraft kits are a good first choice (and what I started with). I still build aircraft kits from time to time, most recently being a Typhoon which I did just to brush up a little before I started on my 25S.

So the issue then isn't the region coding on the DVDs, but that people should buy a region-free DVD player right? Thanks for your explanations Azrael and Miriya!

Haha yea... whats with the new cut off from Yamato? Did someone else post leaks again, or is Yamato too busy, or is Graham too busy? (Fully understandable if Graham is too busy with life, this is just a hobby afterall.) I really liked reading through the old threads where Graham would have a preview of the toy and it would be like Christmas day for the forum =).

Exploding shoulders?

That all sounds logical, but isn't Toynami demanding that BBTS not sell Yamato Macross toys that are not from SDFM as well? In that case, by your argument Toynami has overstepped the bounds of its legal rights, which I think is the point VFTF1 is trying to make. Either way, what's done is done, and hopefully the Bandai-Toynami tie up means that Macross F will be legally brought into the US. There is a silver lining to every cloud, afterall. Edit: Jenius: Really? That would seem pretty dumb on BW part, seeing as to how there doesn't seem to be many toy manufacturers clamouring for manufacturing/distribution rights (SDFM/DYRL aside) outside of Japan, and since BW takes a cut out of every Yamato valkyrie sold, regardless of whether the sale is to a Japanese or an international customer.

Yep... agree 100%. I don't think we have seen many new directions in Sci-Fi/Fantasy since the 1990s/2000s came around. Comics series nowadays are busy either rebooting the franchise or killing off their superheroes (or both!), while media corporations are busy competing on who can reboot their shows and recast their characters in a "new, darker, anti-hero" context. I guess its the end of the era of unbridled optimism and faith in Science...or maybe I am just turning into a cynical old coot!

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII

Hmm the colours look very bright to me, so high vis markings may work fine... looks to me very much like a demonstrator aircraft!
