  1. They've always had that, right down to the version 1's.
  2. Yeah, I guess it could be that also. When I saw it was at the Warrendale, PA post office, I was thinking, "Nice! It should be at the local post office soon and be at my house by tomorrow." Nope! It goes to somewhere in Michigan! Anyway, I just opened it up and gave it a quick inspection and transformed it. Wings are bent as badly as the first release. Wonder what happened as I thought they were getting better with the more recent releases. Paint is still mismatched. One thing that did surprise me is that they revamped the sliding tray the head is attached to. I don't know if it was mentioned already earlier in this thread as I haven't been keeping up, but this was a welcome surprise to me. The old versions, including the most recent release of the 25F used a fragile double hinge mechanism on the front that connected the outer frame to the inner tray that the head attaches to, which I've had one break and a couple others form cracks. This new one was a bit harder to manage at first since I wasn't aware of the change, but it looks a lot more durable. It attaches on a vertical slider on the back of the sliding frame instead. The redesign also seems to allow the tray to lock in place now without wiggling around while keeping the shoulder plates at a proper angle as well.
  3. My got 25S just arrived today. That makes it 25 days for it to arrive at my doorstep via Eco - SAL registered. Probably would have arrived a bit sooner because at one point it was at a post office only about 1 hr from my house, and then for some strange logistical reason that I will never understand, it went on a truck northwards to another state before making its rounds and coming back...
  4. OMG. I'm late seeing this, but wow that sucks... sorry, Saburo. I never would have thought that could be a point of failure. I'm still waiting on mine. I'll have to watch that area now.
  5. No problem. I don't think I was very clear on how I got the links though, so here's a more detailed explanation. Going back to your image, if you click the "Share this photo" icon (right pointing arrow) and select BBCode. Select the smaller size first in the drop down and copy the stuff in the box below it. It would have this for a 320x180 image: [url=https://flic.kr/p/ph3zAX][img=https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7462/15277772863_877dc2eaa2_n.jpg][/url] [url=https://flic.kr/p/ph3zAX]YF-19 and YF-21[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/people/127225170@N06/]Wm K[/url], on Flickr Keep the stuff within the first set of "url" tags. [url=https://flic.kr/p/ph3zAX][img=https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7462/15277772863_877dc2eaa2_n.jpg][/url] Now select the larger image size you want and only copy the http link within the first set of "img" tags and replace the address after the "url=" above with the one you just copied. [url=https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7462/15277772863_e6ffa7f4fd_o.jpg][img=https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7462/15277772863_877dc2eaa2_n.jpg][/url] And that's it. The "url" portion is where the image will take you to when you click it and the "img" part is what image is shown in the post. And now here are the rest of my Super Alto 29 pics. I decided to play around with HDR processing to see how my pics would look. I just added a tiny bit. GERWALK Battroid
  6. The lighting on that looks pretty much perfect. The shot looks as good as you can get. When you upload files to the forum gallery, there is some extra compression and quality loss and limits the image size. If you want, you can use the BBCode share link on Flickr and modify it so it links direct to the image instead of the page. I usually do a direct image link and then wrap it in a link to the larger image. Like this: [url=https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7462/15277772863_e6ffa7f4fd_o.jpg][img=https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7462/15277772863_877dc2eaa2.jpg][/url] which gets you your image as a smaller pic and gives you the original size when you click on it:
  7. I love it! Looks great. Did you make the background yourself?
  8. I think beyond maybe the first few minutes of PA's pre-orders being up, we all knew that there was no way they would be able to secure enough for the number of days they had their pre-orders open. Even if they didn't intend to deceive or cheat anyone, they were kidding themselves if they thought they could fill even a fraction of the orders they must have received over so many days.
  9. Yeah, as long as they mold it in color then that piece should be safe ... like molding a part in one color and then painting it entirely in another color (VF-25S) or molding it in the proper color, painting the whole entire piece in another color then trying to repaint the area that should have been the color of the plastic in a color that doesn't quite match (Ozma YF-29). I'm still scratching my head about that.
  10. That came out really well!
  11. Wow, I'm finally around when NY put up a VF-25S. I kept seeing here that they put some up, but they were always gone by the time I looked. I just checked now and saw it was back up so I grabbed one.
  12. The noses on the two 19's I have lock in place just fine also.
  13. Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I held the light in the wrong place as I didn't study the background image close enough. I was thinking the light source was coming from the rear right of the plane as the background was brighter on the left side and I was thinking to myself that the sun was positioned low on that side, but now that you mention it, the shadows do indicate the light source coming from the other direction. Doh!
  14. I pulled the background from the commons on wikimedia. It's a public domain photo of Kandahar taken by the US gov't. I did try to add some heat haze/wave effect coming from the engines. I ran a ripple filter on it a few times, but it's hard to see because the background is already pretty chaotic and it's hard to spot ripples on ripples. You can kinda see it on the thrusters themselves though. That was the best I could figure out to do based on the tools I had =( I think I'll have to play around with GIMP some more to see if there are any other alternatives. I'm already proud of myself for finding a way to somewhat fake the contrails though. Edit: okay, I googled images of jet exhaust. I am going to try to rework that part. Edit 2: Here we go. I think it looks better now. Not perfect, but improved until I can find a better filter to simulate it.
  15. I love the angle and pose on this shot!
  16. Thanks guys! I was pretty satisfied with the result. I think it was worth the extra effort to rework the 29. Here's my first attempt at messing with making a composite image just to see how I would do. The VF-25 Master File inspired me to give it a try. I don't have any fancy software, just used GIMP.
  17. I finished fixing and repainting the super parts for my Alto 29. Before I even did that, I decided to rework my 29 a bit. It was one of my earlier weathering attempts using the tamiya weathering kits and wasn't as cleanly done as I would have liked so I cleaned it up with some masking and spraying white paint (with a touch of gray) on the whites. I also masked and reworked the reds since they were mismatched on the toy where the painted sections didn't match the plastic, particularly on the top of the fighter, the back section of the turret guns and stripes, and the reds on the inner sides of the legs. Color matched the reds on the super parts too since they were also too light. Then I finished it off by changing the dead flat matte coating to a semi-gloss. I took that fold wave emitter part to replace the piece that was missing and repainted it. I think you'd be hard pressed to tell which part was the one I repainted. Also found out that the hinges for the tray the head attaches to were all cracked and split open. I had to take it apart and super glue the loops. Has anyone else's cracked? I think the metal tube inserted into the holes must have been too big and caused the plastic to split over time. I also noticed the same thing happened on my 1st release 25F renewal. Anyway, here's fighter mode for now. I think I'm finding that I like the super parts more without the fuel pods for the atmospheric loadout.
  18. I'm was thinking those might have been just applied stickers. But I guess with all the extra tampo they added since the super vf-27 release, it's likely that they were printed on this time.
  19. Didn't the original green 27 release come with stickers to let you choose what modex to put on them?
  20. The RVF seems to be okay so far.
  21. Maybe they are referencing gravure? Or else since those guys were cannon fodder, it's just saying where they were heading shortly.
  22. Oh, alright. I was just basing the assumption off that screenshot of Rod's 29 which was lacking the bayonet. I just wish they did something other than te half assed measure of adding an extra attachment piece in order to connect the gunpod properly in fighter mode.
  23. I don't think it's supposed to have a bayonet. Or at least the gunpod in the fighter pic doesn't have one. I'd rather it didn't have one either, but mostly because it then required an extra adapter just to attach it in fighter mode because the bayonet was in the way.
  24. Probably a bit of that, but I think it's mostly that they had to rework the proportions to be useable as a 3D model as they did with the VB-6. The hand drawn version was much thicker and the proportions changed drastically between the three modes. The re-worked Frontier version was more tapered and slimmer, but the proportions of the legs, arms, etc. all remained consistent. So when carrying the look of the YF-19 over from hand drawn to CG model, they would have to do the same since the proportions of the YF-19 and VF-19 in M+ and M7 respectively were all over the place. So I think this version is what they got when given the same treatment. It doesn't look like it. The part covering where the egress hatch would be doesn't look like it flips up. Honestly, I would have been surprised if they did try to implement a gimmick that was only shown in Macross 7.
  25. I can't tell if the canopy color here is meant to be a golden color or olive.
