  1. I don't know. $260 sounds about right. I paid ¥25,000 for my VF-4G back in 2012. I don't know about the re-release though. So I assume that it's not listed for sale anywhere else right now because it's the weekend in Japan?
  2. I just looked at my 0A and it has a split in that same area except the one on mine is even larger. I can see the metal pin through the crack. On another subject, I really hate that they painted the black stripe clear across the starboard wing and then Arcadia made a sticker with a white background with the 301, but the white doesn't match and looks like crap. Ended up just masking off a section of the stripe and sanding it away. Trimmed the clear backed 301 on the sheet right along the edge of each number, but still felt unsatisfied due to how thick the stickers are. I was going to use some of the decals from the Hasegawa kit, but while some look just fine despite being 1/72 scale, others are way too small. Looked around on the internet to see if anyone made upscaled versions of the Hasegawa decals and found on ebay there are 1/60 waterslides for the 0A and S based on the Arcadia sticker sheets. Happy day! Bought one of each, though they're pretty expensive for decals. My plans for the 0A and S are now on hold since these decals are shipping from China and will take a good while to arrive. Better late than never though.
  3. Taking a closer look at those pics, it really does seem like they intentionally went with varying shades of red, not that I mind at all. I mean just look at this pic for example: The tip of the nose is a single piece, but the top of it is a darker red. The shoulder pieces look like they're molded in the lighter red color, but painted a darker red on the front and top whereas the angular trim on the sides are the lighter red shade. You can see the lighter red color also show through around the edges surrounding the recessed clear yellow pieces.
  4. Amazon was indeed by far the cheaper option for me (¥24,857 after shipping).
  5. Cool, thanks!
  6. It's been such a long time since I've been able to order something I wanted from Ami Ami that I don't recall... do they charge immediately or when they get the product in stock and are ready to ship?
  7. I wish the toys weren't so superglued together or I'd have swapped out the feet between one of my Advanced and my 19.
  8. Grats, Kyp!
  9. Looks like Battle 7 to me based on the details like the "shoulder pauldron" and legs. Unfortunately I don't think they're to scale with each other. The Macross Elysion is supposed to be double the length of the Quarter so... around 900-1000m? The Uragas are 550m so they'd be a little more than half the length of the Elysion. So judging by the pic, the Battle 7 is not in scale with either of the other two as well.
  10. Yep. Clearly the seller meant to have another 0 added to the price.
  11. Wow, what a steal! (for the seller)
  12. Bondic sounded interesting to me when I had first learned of it, but when I looked at the reviews on Amazon for it, I shied away from trying it.
  13. I'm hoping it can actually pull back and have ground clearance, though I doubt it will be as much as in the line art From the pic of the top of the head, it looks like the fin can move, but I don't know whether it can move as much as it needs to. It would probably also need to be able to push into the head to make it smaller.
  14. That sounds rather reasonable to me considering how hard it is to find one these days, as long as the toy hasn't been sitting out in the sunlight and turned yellow or have some physical damage. I wish I had gotten a 2nd one myself to have one dedicated to wearing the reactive armor.
  15. Haha, can you imagine if that actually were? At the very least, they'd have to replace the nose after every landing as it nose plants into the deck.
  16. Also as an emergency landing brake. So many uses!
  17. Or some kid is going to mistake it for some pieces of bubblegum and pop it in their mouth. Gosh, I hope that's just a mis-transformation and that the head fin can be tilted the other way. That looks really awkward and silly.
  18. Thanks. I was able to get it apart using a No. 23 X-acto blade. Managed to do so without damaging the exterior, but snapped one tiny peg on the back of the inner thigh piece. The other thigh piece, I was able to pry open fully intact.
  19. So I was looking at my 0D (non-PF) today which has been sitting in fighter mode since I got it, thinking about how I was going to go about weathering it. I transformed it to battroid mode and discovered that there is just no friction in the hip joints at all... If there was a breeze blowing while being held up, you'd see those legs swinging. Tried to see if I could get at the ball joint housing so I unscrewed the screw in the hip/intake and then found and popped out a screw cover in the thigh and unscrewed the screw there too. Seems like I could only pry open the front half of the thigh piece, but the back half won't budge at all. Is there another screw or something hidden somewhere that I missed or did they just stupidly glue it shut?
  20. @levzloi Those are very nicely done and three of them too! Great looking finish and very clean paint application. I know, right? Especially the shoulder areas. There's so much rub and it's such a tight space in fighter mode. I always inevitably get scrapes and such in those areas during transformation. I recently got some Vallejo Mecha Varnish of the gloss, satin, and matte varieties. I've yet to test it, but supposedly it's formulated to be resistant to scrapes and impacts that mecha models would experience. I'm hoping it will be a lot more durable than Future and the regular Vallejo varnish I used in the past.
  21. Haha, or like a triceratops with only one horn.
  22. Dang, is that a stress mark at the base of the hinge too? I'd suggest at least popping the pin out and then trying something like plastic weld to fuse the crack back together before it gets worse.
  23. lol. Sadly, I can totally see that happening. They'll also finally fix the number on the fins so that they'll be like 001 instead of 100, but then flip the one that was previously correct to 100.
  24. I hope Bandai takes a go at the VF-11. We could use one with some modern standards of articulation and tail fins that aren't badly undersized. Even though I prefer the look of the fighter without super parts added on, I kept the supers on mine because I thought it was preferable to seeing the tiny tail fins. An improvement to the cockpit/heatshield gimmick would be nice too. I didn't like how the cockpit module didn't really feel stable in fighter mode. That aside, the Yamato one had pretty good proportions overall and still looks good even today.
  25. Well, that's a little disappointing to hear...
