My 2 came in a big paper bag. They were in better shape than the big empty box with no padding with the tenjin books. I thought I had learned from the last amazon jp shipping incident but apparently not

I saw July 2024 and my brain said " oh darn, that is next year, so it is long to wait" then realized "HEY! I am in 2024 right now!" doh These look a bit short? I hope they either include full length versions for fighter mode or have the removable option still there, as maybe we could re-purpose an extra set from the angel birds edition I don't like the short tail fin design even if it is cannon I'm dying to display one like the 1/72 Orange Collection one looks

Got mine today! It definitely has little bits of new, or rarely pre-published art, but if I had a single complaint, the pics are so small!!!! Google Translate/Lens is doing a good job on it being readable.

Everyone here loves the challenge of searching for something there is just so much material spread out over so many books and magazines. Seto has said they've seen it before, so now I'm really curious where, and what else was in the proximity of the piece. I'm about ready to get one of these and just scan EVERYTHING I have. There is just too much physical stuff, I'm out of room 😛

I've looked through the Macross EB, Studio Nue EB, TIA 1/2/3/5/6,PM/GB, Miyatake M to Org, and come up empty on that Anti Aircraft gun. I have another Miyatake book somewhere still looking (I am assuming it is a Miyatake drawing...if it is Kawamori maybe its in the Expo book or something newer)? Run across lots of hangar type pics, but not that one, or the city one to the right of it with the gerwalk. There is a diff gerwalk in the city but not that one. Its crazy to still see new art pop up after 40 years. At least I still think its new lol

Stupid question on the 1/48 VF-1 Line In the old days, Takatoku/Bandai/Yamato would put their name, and a reference to Big West and a year molded into the toys (backs of chest plates and underneath wings) I haven't found anything yet on a DX 1/48 VF-1, have you? If it isn't there anymore I wonder what happened. If it is there, I'll go get some new glasses!

Whilst going though some extra inventory to sell off at the Pasadena Comic Con, I ran across the box holding these 2 today-and noticed one little extra difference On the D3 there is no little slot to open the landing gear doors, that was a later addition

Yeah-but then the Mechanic Edition wouldn't be special anymore. When it first came out someone was selling just the armor parts (no valk) for $200...kick myself for not grabbing it to use on another valk now!!

The 2nd 'lottery' ended in Dec 2023 for those lucky buyers, and the winners for that batch of Mechanic Editions ships in April 2024. There has been no news of a general release or 3rd lottery. Demand on auction sites has frequently been around 64000+ yen, now slowing down a bit to about 56000 I am hoping once the new batch is on the marketplace the price drops significantly, like a low 40000 range once demand is met. But who knows.

Its up to each person to keep their bad condition toys original and yellow or they can restore the colors and have them look better. There will be opinions on each side, but they literally made a million VF-1 toys, it isn't like we are dealing with limited run item. If some of the worse yellowed loose ones get a new life I can't see how that is a bad thing. These aren't being sold or represented as 'mint in box'. Here is another example of the process. I think it is amazing what can be done, just like restoring old computer cases from the 80's.

I am lazy...when is the Macross Encyclopedia coming out again? Thought it was sometime in January

I often feel the 'loose' toys carry more fun value than the boxed ones. With the loose ones you can transform and display them and you never feel guilty about re-opening the box or keeping it out of the sun because you don't want to lose resale value on a $600 Sealed Strike valk. I was always wondered why on the Yahoo Japan auctions, a loose valk always seemed to get more action than a sealed one, and I think it is because of the guiltless feeling. I know that runs through my head all the time as these things are expensive. I think the opportunity to spread this much 1/55 fun to a bunch of casual fans seems like a win for everyone

My friend and I will be selling some extra stuff this year at the Pasadena Comic Con-stop by and grab a loose 1/55 and some other Macross goodies left over from the SDCon Chris Barretta (OG 1/55 Custom heads) will also be at the con-I need to find out WHERE though...he has the coolest stuff for sale too! The Valcutron will also make a return appearance to get gauge public opinion on the best large scale VF-1 toy!

If you are in the Pasadena,CA area on Jan 28th, my friend is blowing out a bunch of loose 1/55 VF-1s at the con Come see them in person! https://pasadenacomiccon.com/
